Nomination
[edit]MisterWiki (talk · contribs) – I (MisterWiki) am a dedicated user of Wikipedia. I try to do the things right on the articles I edit. I actively edit since 2007 (with some wikibreaks). I specially welcome users and try to warn the vandals about their crimes. I just have 1 Do You Know hook, but I dedicate my time to patrol new pages. I also search for articles not needed here (English Opens Doors, by example). I review articles from the WikiProject Chile and I'm planning to publish a wikiproject about the German group Modern Talking. I'm a civilized Wikipedian (I don't try to remember such events), careful and hopefully about the future of Wikipedia. I'm most active translating articles from the Spanish Wikipedia or editing about my favorite things, like Modern Talking, Rick Astley, voting on another RfAs. The thing I most like is to welcome users properly. They have to get a warm welcome from us, they need us. I also work translating articles from the Spanish Wikipedia.
I was an admin on my school's wiki, and I've learned all about the admin tools.

Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: Continue my usual tasks but, additionally, protect pages that need to be protected, per WP:RFP; WP:DYK is a work-in-progress task that requires admins, I promise my time to it; WP:AFD, a tool to use with caution, I'll participate actively on deletion processes. I work activelly on lots of other proyects (welcoming, birthday commitee, etc.). I give the Adopt-a-User service to the users that want it User:MisterWiki/Adopt-a-User, currently I have just one adoptee.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: Guide newbies (Daisy18108 by example) and other users that need it. I just have one WP:DYK (Ross Casino) but I think it's the best contribution I did. Also I've worked on Pichilemu. I try to improve some articles and do disambigs.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I try, in general, to resolve every conflict peacefully and successfully. Sometimes, however, it's not possible (when I get angry), when a user reclaims about my contribs, but I try anyway to do it by the better way. :D

[edit]- Lacks experience, communication skills, and maturity needed to handle the admin toolset. Suggest candidate withdraw nomination per WP:NOTNOW. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:45, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak oppose - Admittedly this may seem lazy, but I am loathe to support candidates who do not have an excellent command of the English language. Wisdom89 (T / C) 20:47, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, have to agree w/ Beeblebrox. I get the feeling that you lack the maturity and judgment necessary to wield the tools responsibly. Keep up the good work, though! –Juliancolton | Talk 20:48, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Per above - lack of command of English would cause problems - "try to warn the vandals about their crimes". Crimes? Intent is good, however - perhaps with a lot more experience I could reconsider. Recommend another year. Tan | 39 20:50, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - user has technical skills, but being an admin is more about policy. WP:N is a big one, and "I've never heard about it" is not part of what notability is all about. Furthermore, concluding that something is a hoax because one has never heard about it doesn't show the judgment an admin requires. That is not to say that English Opens Doors is not a hoax (I have no opinion on the AfD itself); just that the reasoning for saying it most likely is a hoax is not sound. Admins must show knowledge of policy, and must be able to close AfDs correctly. Frank | talk 21:04, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Poor knowledge of the English language which could be problematic and lacks experience. Also Q1 makes me feel as though the user doesn't know what the administrator rights are for. Maybe next time.--Giants27(Contribs|WP:CFL) 21:16, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
