This image should not be on the English Wikipedia, but the Commons, IF and ONLY IF, the uploader is the original author. Since it came from the Apple website, I highly doubt the uploader is the original author. Thus, the author is not providing a license, but instead replacing it with a Fair use rationale template. Keep I have provided the licensing information. Why do you keep putting this up for deletion.See my later comment.-KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 20:19, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- Please see your talk page. I've given the information. Thus, you are NOT providing license information. You are providing the source and rationale for it. Please stop or I'll have someone stop you. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 20:36, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- I have created several other non-free images doing the exact same as this one and no one has bothered to nominate those for deletion. At this point withdraw your nomination. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 21:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- @KAP03: Just because they haven't been nominated yet, doesn't mean that no one has reviewed them yet. I will not withdraw my nomination. Until you can start providing the correct licensing information, I don't think you need to be uploading images. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 22:54, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- Question Is this something that average Joe Consumer could buy right now? --AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 22:31, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- @AntiCompositeNumber: I'm not sure, but here's the press release from March 21, 2017. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 22:54, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- Alright, it looks like it was available to order on 24 March 2017, and set to ship this week. As of Right Now this image is probably OK, but by the time this discussion closes in a week, it will be replaceable non-free use as someone could buy it and take a photo of it (with the screen turned off). That means a Delete from me. --AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 22:59, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- But that image would still be non-free. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 14:10, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Uhh, why? The screen would not be displaying copyrighted backgrounds, and the actual object has an intrinsic utilitarian function and can't be copyrighted. --AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 15:43, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- It's Apple's product so they have the copyright. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 16:25, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- @AntiCompositeNumber: I have edited the image so that the screen appears to not have any image on it. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 23:56, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- @KAP03: That still does not matter. By the time this discussion is closed, it will be available for people to buy. Therefore, as AntiCompositeNumber and Majora have stated, it will violate the the fair use guidelines. Not sure how much clearer they (we) can get. - Delete Per AntiCompositeNumber. If the answer to "can you buy it?" is yes then it doesn't meet our fair use policy. Since that answer will be yes when this FFD listing closes the file needs to be deleted at that time. --Majora (talk) 00:23, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Delete as it has been replaced by a free version File:IPad 2017 tablet.jpg which makes this file obsolete. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 04:14, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
