Non-free use rationale no longer valid – Image was uploaded in 2007 with permission "for use on Wikipedia Only", and is therefore "non-free". A non-free use rationale was added in 2008 and was apparently acceptable at that time. Subsequently, as stated in the article Maitreya Project, the proposed design of the statue has changed. This image no longer represents the proposed design, and therefore may fail WP:NFCC8, contextual significance. – Wdchk (talk) 04:21, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No need for an unfree file. Stamp not essential to the article, it is one of thousands of Christmas stamps and could easily be replaced with the free file. Philafrenzy (talk) 09:59, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Keep in Postage stamp design because it illustrates a specific design feature not shown by a freely licenced stamp that I know of, but in Christmas stamp its rationale is not very supportable and could be replaced with a freely licenced such images. Howeverm I disagree that there are thousands of other freely licenced Christmas stamps. ww2censor (talk) 10:24, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, it predates the uploading of thousands of German and Russia-area stamps to commons, seems like it ought to be possible to find *something* relevant for each use. Let me see what I can turn up. Stan (talk) 13:08, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't say there were thousands of free ones, I said that there were thousands of Christmas stamps and therefore we should be able to find a free one. Any Christmas stamp with an out of copyright Madonna and Child painting would do. Philafrenzy (talk) 13:21, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, you are correct, there may not be thousands of freely licenced Christmas stamps but there are likely to be some more free ones to replace the non-free ones in the article unless they illustrate a unique feature that no non-free ones show. ww2censor (talk) 18:37, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
