no proof of copyright non-renewal. we have several PD portraits of marc chagall, so this cannot be kept by adding a fair use rationale. Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:41, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned, replaced by File:EpidermisPainted.svg. No need to keep. Stefan2 (talk) 16:31, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment the SVG has an invalid license. It is a derivative image of something that isn't PD (it's CC/GFDL), so even though the attribution path is indicated in the Commons SVG image, the license is wrong, since it has to be CC/GFDL and not PD. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 05:38, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment the Commons SVG image has been nominated for deletion as a copyright violation. See commons:Commons:Deletion requests/2012/03/10 . 70.24.251.71 (talk) 05:01, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invalid fair use, I'd say. Looks like a map but it could be replaced by a different map. The file has a fair use rationale but it is not written for the article in which the file is used but for a different file. Stefan2 (talk) 19:41, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Very blurry, but it might be the only free image we have of Mercier-Est. What do you say, keep or delete? Stefan2 (talk) 19:42, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Move to commons, but remove from the article. I could see it maybe in a commons gallery, but not in the article. It's a fairly generic cityscape image for Montreal, and could be of many places there, if we didn't know that it was actually Tetraultville. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 05:35, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment it looks like a copyright violation. The text in the image is itself copyrighted, since it's the coverpage of a newspaper. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 05:31, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The page is certainly copyrighted as an artistic work in the country of origin, and maybe also as a literary work. However, I'm not sure if it is copyrighted in the United States, which is why I wrote that it is unclear if any of those tags applies. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:05, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It is definitely copyrighted as a textual work, since it is the frontpage of a commercial newspaper, and properly attributed as such, and the paper isn't especially old, so the copyright has not expired yet. If you photograph a page from a book (or its plate) it still carries the copyright of the book, this is just a reproduction of a newspaper frontpage, as such it is a verbatim copy. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 16:05, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
