Non-free photograph of a 1970s train, claimed to be irreplaceable in an article about a specific train line. However, we do have free photographs of the type of locomotive involved, which would be sufficient to give the reader an idea of what these trains looked like; beyond that, we do not need an illustration of this specific type of train running on this specific line in order to understand that trains of this type did run there. Also blatantly false boilerplated FUR ("…the photo and its historical significance are the object of discussion in the article"). Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:00, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- 1) The idea is to give the reader an idea what the SEPTA pull-pull operation was like in ther context of the SEPTA diesel service article, and that is the significance of this photo. The fact that the train is led by an FP7 is irrelevant. 2) "Also blatantly false boilerplated FUR ("…the photo and its historical significance are the object of discussion in the article") - not really; the article is very specific, as it relates to SEPTA diesel operations. The pull-pull train in the photo is no longer in use and the service ceased in 1981. I will look for a free version of this photo, but until then, do not remove this photo. Thank you. - You misunderstood. Is it so difficult to understand what "the photo and its historical significance are the object of discussion in the article" means? It means, well, just what it says: that the photo itself and its historical significance are the object of discussion. Like, for instance, in this article. Your photograph here may be useful in illustrating something, but it certainly isn't the object of encyclopedic interest as a photograph in its own right.
