- Response This is true: the implicit assumption here is that a front cover counts more for visual identification than a back cover, which is true. The front cover of an album is made precisely to be identifying. While a back cover certainly can be an important part of the design of an album, in literally 99% of cases, it's not, nor is it intended to be. Back covers exist by necessity and are sometimes treated like an afterthought: e.g. a plain list of song titles. Front covers are how an album is marketed and identified, so it meets fair use guidelines implicitly. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 21:00, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete: The purpose of use claims cover art is "to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for." This is not the primary visual image associated with the work, the front cover is, and I find it hard to believe that readers would require the back cover to know that this is, indeed, the album they are looking for. - Delete per Justin & MrMoustache. WP:NFC allows for cover art for the purpose of identification in the context of critical commentary of the item, and it has long been held that an image of an album's front cover in the infobox of an article about the album meets that criteria. The back cover, however, does not meet the criteria and would require specific critical commentary of the back cover in order to be justified (the only example that jumps to mind is the back cover of In Utero, which was a source of controversy that's specifically commented on in the article, but even that article doesn't presently have an image of the back cover). The article For Your Own Special Sweetheart is pretty minimal and contains no commentary on the artwork, hence a non-free image of the back cover is unjustified. --IllaZilla (talk) 21:21, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
