The diagram is missing the hydrogen atoms. A space-filling chemical diagram such as this is misleading and useless, if it does not show the space filled by all the atoms. Leyo 10:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Leyo is correct. These diagrams are chemically incorrect, and misleading for the specified reasons. I have also taken the liberty of adding more images with the same problem uploaded by the same user (in addition to the other ones listed in the other discussions below). Delete all per nom. There are times when omitting H is a valid structural convention. But the whole point of a space-filling 3D model is to illustrate the actual physical form (rather than shorthand notation of the bonds), and the H are an important part of the real object (take up space and alter the 3D surfaces). Delete all - no other Wikipedia illustrator (or anyone else for that matter) omits hydrogen atoms from space-filling models. If you keep a record of the molecules in question, I'll make replacement images that do have hydrogens ASAP. Ben (talk) 19:43, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it is worth prioritizing the replacement of these images. They were probably just created in alphabetical order from Category:Alcohols. Already tagged as The image shows geminal bromine substitution rather than the vicinal substitution the is present in brominated vegetable oil. It also depicts a fatty acid, but vegetable oils are mostly glycerides. This is not an oil - it will be a solid. Seventeen carbons is unusual - I would suspect 14 / 16 / 18 / 20 to be natural - and the bromines more than likely to be 2 and on C9/C10. Ronhjones ^(Talk) 22:14, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
