The result of the discussion was: delete. While it is certainly a pretty picture, no amount of wishing will straighten out this license, especially when you consider that the alleged original uploader account does not exist. SchuminWeb (Talk) 00:43, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe a "pretty picture" but the information really screwy. Not sure how to tag this so I sent it here. Says it is "Self-Made" but than says it was "Transferred from en.wikipedia; transferred to Commons by User:Trengarasu using Commons Helper." Than says it is in PD "by the author" but carries a CCL. - File:Laika first living being in space Sputnik 2.gif (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Zerbey (notify | contribs | uploads).
Soviet photograph of 1957 (no specific source given). Orphaned. Was tagged as PD-US but with no explanation of why it would be PD. Russian copyright law (see {{PD-Russia-2008}}) is 70 years p.m.a., so there's no reason to assume PD here. Note that if this actually were PD, the image currently in use at the Laika article, which is tagged as non-free, ought to be re-tagged likewise or replaced with this one. Semi-speedy was removed by admin for no good reason. Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:37, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm the original uploader, it's better that we continue to use Free images (Wikipedia has matured a lot since I originally uploaded this!) so in the interests of keeping to current policy I agree with the deletion. Zerbey (talk) 16:59, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A different user uploaded a file completely different from the original file. Possible vandalism. serioushat 10:49, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete both versions. The latest one was never validly licensed and is possibly a copyvio and/or a piece of implicit BLP vandalism. The earlier one is low quality and has been orphaned for a long time. Fut.Perf. ☼ 11:11, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unused file has garbled upload information and is likely a Disney copy vio although I was unable to find the source. Diannaa (Talk) 15:06, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see how this is a valid "Fair use" rationale as 1) there are two such images uploaded by the same user and surely only one at most can be justified - the other is File:Norman Krasna 1.jpg. 2) the article it is used in, Norman Krasna, already has a Fair Use image of him -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:05, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
