- File:Sid Owen.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) – uploaded by Jenkinslane (notify | contribs | uploads).
- Proposing this be deleted per Wikipedia:Image use policy#Privacy rights as it depicts the actor Sid Owen in what appears to be a drunken state. Clearly this is inappropriate and unfair on Mr Owen. Additionally, User:Jenkinslane first said it was sourced to Facebook and the author was "Nutta Robbins". I listed it as "no permission" but Jenkinslane immediately reverted this and added themselves as the author, changing the licence from pd-author to pd-self.[1] AnemoneProjectors 02:23, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete I'm going to add as well that the link given to Facebook didn't actually work when I tried it and came up with a message that I didn't have the authority to view that page. Even if it did work, Facebook can't be viewed as a reliable source for the photo and I'm fairly certain that the photo would fail on all 3 of the examples of photos deemed as unacceptable listed at WP:IUP.--5 albert square (talk) 02:35, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Moved to Commons. It would appear that the file has educational value, and so as the file is currently orphaned, it can live on Commons where it will potentially be useful for many projects. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:44, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- File:Bisphenolate A plus Phosgene.PNG (delete | talk | history | logs) – uploaded by H Padleckas (notify | contribs | uploads).
- Orphaned and low resolution; File:Polycarbonatsynthese.svg is an alternative. Leyo 14:03, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep, at least until exactly equivalent *.svg files are created, which may not be for a long time. The subject file, File:Bisphenolate A plus Phosgene.PNG, shows an aspect of a detailed polymerization mechanism, while the proposed alternative File:Polycarbonatsynthese.svg is just an overall reaction summary, which does not show the detailed mechanism. The User, User:Smokefoot, who removed this image from the article Polycarbonate, is by nature a deletionist and removed this detailed mechanism information from the article unnecessarily. I would like to put that information and the image back into the Polycarbonate article someday. The article is by no means too long - only 20 kB. The image was uploaded at a time when WikiCommons use was not widespread and this image was never moved to WikiCommons, therefore other Wikimedia were not aware of its presence and had no chance to use it. This image would also be useful in the Polymerization article, which is also short. A better alternative would be to move this image into WikiCommons, where it would be available for many language Wikipedias and other Wikimedia sites.

- Self-uploaded portrait of Wikipedia editor. Orphan, unencyclopaedic, and low quality. No apparent value to Wikipedia project. Uncle Dick (talk) 17:11, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

These files have been superceded by more detailed maps at Commons (see Category:Maps of Illinois) and are currently unused. I proposed here and at Commons (here and here) that they be moved to Commons, but there does not appear to be any interest in getting them—they are, after all, lower-quality versions of content which is already on Commons. A trial nomination (here) to determine whether there is consensus on Wikipedia to delete all similar files ended with a result to delete. To avoid accidentally nominating images which are still in use, I will check and nominate the 1,000+ affected files over the course of multiple nominations; see parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
- Note: File:OFallon Township StClair.PNG, which has no replacement yet and is currently in use in the article O'Fallon Township, St. Clair County, Illinois, is excluded from this nomination until a replacement is created.
- Replacement created, see File:Map highlighting O'Fallon Township, St. Clair County, Illinois.svg. I'm adding the PNG version to the nomination list. -- Black Falcon (talk) 22:05, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
