Welcome to WikiProject Firefighting! This WikiProject is designed to provide a centralized place for Wikipedians interested in firefighting and its related topics to gather for relevant discussion and make announcements on ways to better the coverage of firefighting on Wikipedia. If you believe in this goal and would like to help out, please watchlist this page and add your name to the participants list below. All editors who would like to join are welcome!
Scope
[edit]The scope of this WikiProject includes all articles related to firefighting: it's history, related equipment, detection, combatting, prevention, and so on. We aim to expand Wikipedia's resources and coverage on firefighting in a fair and accurate manner. All pages within this scope should be contained within Category:Firefighting or one of its subcategories, and should be tagged with the code {{WikiProject Firefighting}} on the page's talkpage. While still within this project's coverage: for pages on wildfires in particular, we recommend also checking out our sister project WikiProject Wildfire.
Participants
[edit]If you would like to join the project, please add your name to the bottom of the list below by typing the Wikitext #{{subst:me}}! You may also remove your name from the list if at any time you ever find yourself becoming inactive.

"Firefighting in X" articles
[edit]For many nations, information on their firefighting infrastructure is spready disparately across multiple articles, with information that applies to them more generally repeated across articles or omitted in articles they apply to; for this reason, I think many (or indeed most) nations could do with a "Firefighting in X" style article, similar to the ones that exist for the USA, Belgium, Japan, Germany, the UK, France, South Korea, Antarctica, and Finland (although some of these could also do with a bit of cleanup). Priority should, I think, go to nations which have particularly decentralised firefighting arrangements and a large number of institutions, and those which have particularly complicated arrangement, which includes:
- Firefighting in Australia
- Firefighting in Canada
- Firefighting in Denmark
- Firefighting in India
- Firefighting in Nigeria
- Firefighting in Pakistan
- Firefighting in the Phillipines
- Firefighting in South Africa
- Firefighting in Turkey
