Delete because it's titled like an essay and written like an essay (and sourced primarily to an education advice blog) therefore I agree it falls under WP:NOT. If there's something of any interest in the NYT news article maybe it could be added to Course (education)#Elective and required courses. Sionk (talk) 00:51, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per nom and Sionk. It should be noted that this article was created as part of a class assignment as indicated at Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Cal State San Marcos/Sociology of Education (Spring), and it is possible that other articles may be created for that course which require scrutiny. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:16, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I'm going to post a message to the student's talk page about this. Offhand I do think that there's potential merit in having an article about electives independent from the main article Course (education), but it'd have to be more neutral and better sourced of course.
