Zad68 (talk) 22:33, 18 March 2012 (UTC) Not enough content for separate article, merge into Smart card. Unsourced, and why is a specific port given? Can't the web server be configured on a variety of ports? Is there a particular requirements specification? Zad68 (talk) 22:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Procedural close - The nominator has requested a merge which does not require any discussion at Articles for Deletion. -- Whpq (talk) 16:13, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- As I get it, his idea was the content can't be merged to SmartCard. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 19:48, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes you are right, it was silly of me to AfD when I should have just merged. I don't know why I did this, I should have known better. I'll do the merge when I can concentrate on that. Zad68 (talk) 20:04, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete: such contect should generally be merged into wider topic (Smart card in this case), and I would suggest such merge if the discussed article had a single verified statement. We just can't merge the content that is not supported by sources. I dumped this article's content at Talk:Smart card/Archives/2014#Smart Card Web Server (SCWS) though. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 19:48, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I can find a reference for the one sentence that should be merged back. SCWS is a real thing, though. Zad68 (talk) 20:07, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Real or not, you can't merge two unsourced sentences. What you can is to write a sourced section in the target article, and as long as the source of the content is not the same, you just can't call this process "merger". That's why I recommend deletion. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 21:48, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- OK I get it, a merge is a Wikipedia technical definition that involves copying content verbatim, and that is not what I planned to do in this case. I had been calling it a merge because I intended to functionally put into the main Smart Card article the info that is here, although in my own words and sourced. Also, I wanted to rename the article title to Smart Card Web Server (without the acronym) and use that title as a redirect. Jeez I'm spending so much time typing it here that I could have just done it by now... Zad68 (talk) 01:33, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- For the record: I object closing this AfD with keep result as SCWS is a clear subtopic of Smart Card topic. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 21:53, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Update I have added the appropriate, sourced paragraph of content at Smart_card#Smart_Card_Web_Server, moved Smart Card Web Server (SCWS) to Smart Card Web Server, and CSD'd Smart Card Web Server (SCWS). A non-involved non-admin (not me) can now non-admin close this AfD. Zad68 (talk) 15:00, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
