Minor character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Article is a plot summary with some minor trivia, and my before likewise does not show anything that seems like reliable WP:SIGCOV. Failing WP:GNG, redirect to List of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy characters should suffice. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:03, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

- Comment One in my view relevant coverage of the character is in The Rough Guide to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: The 1+ page section dedicated to Slatibartfast has relevant commentary on his background. He has shorter treatment at various other places of that book. Daranios (talk) 15:01, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Shorter but interpreation of the character is found in 'Well that about Wraps it Up for God', p. 50-51: Slartibartfast represents Creator Gods/Demiurges but subservient to "representatives of the immaterial sphere" in his first appearance, and becomes a Messiah figure in his latter, building on another brief and similar analysis in All-Macht und Raum-Zeit, p. 111. The name origin is partially verified/taken up by Naming Your Little Geek, p. 296, and Presenting Young Adult Science Fiction, p. 159, as independent secondary sources in case the other references there are not. Daranios (talk) 17:34, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, Slartibartfast has been called an "iconic element" of the Hitchhiker's Guide and "legendary" alien with a "most unlikely name", as well as an "underdeveloped character". Daranios (talk) 17:56, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Slightly more on the deliberately silly choice of the name in About Time The Unauthorized Guide To Doctor Who, p. 223. Daranios (talk) 18:00, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Keep Per Daranios's coverage. Character has appeared in multiple media (radio, book, BBC video, movie...) and is never cut from a presentation of the story, so while he may appear briefly, his importance to the narrative is larger than his particular story. - Keep. From the sourceable (and sourced) information given in the article, this character has significant roles across the individual books in this series -- and across media (e.g. the illustrative photo shows a notable actor who played him in the TV show).
