Highest level subject appears to have played is for a semi-professional team and he may or may not have been professional. WP:GNG Raskuly (talk) 07:14, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

- Comment: As the original creator, I'll sit this one out. However, upon creation, WP:FOOTYN was in effect. As such, subject qualified under criteria 1 as both seasons he played were in fully professional leagues. Looks to be 114 matches for "Matt Arya" on Newspapers.com, but I'm not going to go through them all. GauchoDude (talk) 18:23, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: I'm now unsure of myself because the team's article seemed to indicate that they were in a semi-professional league while Arya was with them, but I realize now that the league was defunct. It appears Arya may have played in a second division league, the USISL Select League, and if that is correct then I am in favor of keeping the article. Raskuly (talk) 22:22, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Raskuly, Apologies in advance for all of the "per"'s to follow as some people take offense to that, but want to spell out (at least initially) where this all came from:
- 1. Per this article linked in Matt Arya's bio, he played for the California Jaguars and was a returning player for the 1996 season, meaning he also was with the team in 1995.
- 2. Per California Jaguars, they were named Monterey Bay Jaguars in 1995, hence the appearance of two "teams" in his infobox/biography.
- 3. Also per California Jaguars article, they played the 1995 season as a member of the USISL Pro League and the 1996 season as a member of the USISL Select League.
- 4. Lastly, per fully professional leagues and the WikiProject Football community, the 1995 USISL Pro League and the 1996 USISL Select League, the two leagues which his team played for while he was on them, are both listed as fully professional.
- Thanks. GauchoDude (talk) 12:52, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
