Stub with only once reference (accessible on archive). The given reference talks about impact assessments to be carried out, so it suggests that there was still some way to go before the dam would begin construction. I've looked at maps of the area and can find no dams in this area. I found this article from June 2025 that names the project and its stated that it is in limbo as a result of the Coup and inadequate impact assessments [1]. I therefore think that this article fails WP:CRYSTAL and I believe it also fails WP:GNG as the other sources I have found are largely passing mentions that list this dam among a list of other planned dams. - Comment: - the Salween River is a big river by the time it leaves China. This will be a huge project if it happens. —A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 22:57, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. Updated the article and changed my vote from "weak delete" to "keep".

- Keep: The article now has more references. Even if the coup has delayed construction of the dam, China won't take no for an answer. An ATD would be moving the article to Proposed dams on the Salween River. Лисан аль-Гаиб (talk) 17:10, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Merge to Salween River. I think a stub article about widely-covered plans is suitable as a detail in the larger article about the river. Too soon for a standalone article; construction has not even begun. Yue🌙 21:20, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Merge to Salween River makes more sense to me as well as an ATD. given that this is well mentioned in the citations I spot checked, and in my additional searches, but seems more about the Salween than the dam to be. The article in its current state's main context seems to be more about it being planned to be made and even halted in progress so far. So yeah, it does give me the WP:TOOSOON feels for me.Lorraine Crane (talk) 13:20, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- Merge – per WP:TOOSOON, to Salween River. If the dam project is started in the future, feel free to restore it as a standalone article. Hteiktinhein (talk) 05:12, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
