The result was no consensus‎. Numerically with 2 keep !votes, three delete !votes and a merge there's no obvious consensus here. The main issue under discussion was whether there was WP:LASTING coverage of this event, and on that !voters differ, so in terms of argumentation there was also a deadlock. With three re-lists there is no further scope for relisting.

My suggestion to anyone seeking to renominate this is to analyse the references in detail and discuss to what extent they do/do not sustain the notability of the topic. FOARP (talk) 09:22, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lacks sustained coverage in secondary sources and had no lasting effects. This is a news article. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 21:52, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: No one is disputing the existence of the systemic bias mentioned by Necrothesp. In this case, however, the bias is inherited. If this crash were to happen in the UK or US, there'd be massive national and international media coverage, and annual observance days would be covered by local media for lasting impact, not to mention likely changes in regulations. Biased as it is, we are bound by what secondary sources provide us with. Owen× 14:49, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: Relisting for one more chance for editors to find significant coverage, given the systematic bias concerns and the coverage that has been found so far.

  • Keep I think this clearly passes WP:GNG with the sources presented above. Keeping or deleting something on bias grounds is a bit ridiculous - you have to take each topic as it comes, knowing that GNG in one country will look different in another. That doesn't matter - the key is there were major feature stories and follow up articles in local press. The next problem is someone still needs to add them into the article... • Merge to Yauri, Peru as alternative to deletion. Sources aren't forthcoming so there is no basis to keep a dedicated article but the topic can at least be mentioned in the article about the place where it happened. It can always split out in summary style. czar 03:53, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
