Undo deletion, "Vapsid Estonia"

Could you undo the deletion of "Vapsid Estonia"? I created "Vapsid Estonia," I did not want to display or show my real name all over the article, I tried putting my username, "jd5124682," but as I am writing this to you, it did not work. So could you undo the speedy deletion or maybe redirect me to someone that can better help me with my case? Jd5124682 (talk) 12:40, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

The article is deleted so any instance of your real name is not visible. -- Whpq (talk) 14:25, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying. Jd5124682 (talk) 21:05, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Charlieemmersonmarketing (11:42, 13 March 2025)

Have I done enough edits to publish yet? --Charlieemmersonmarketing (talk) 11:42, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Hi, while you can technically publish, you are strongly recommended to use the articles for creation process for your first few edits. Also, you should declare any conflicts of interests that you have with the article subjects. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 16:48, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Seatonr18 (21:14, 13 March 2025)

Hi there. I received some helpful feedback from your team regarding recent updates to some pages related to my employer. While it was suggested I might be biased, I am familiar with your rules and provided citations for each edit I made. To date, my edits seem in tact, but I wanted to check with you to ensure I am acting appropriately and with integrity, as that is my goal. --Seatonr18 (talk) 21:14, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

You need to make a declaration that you are editing an article for you employer. See WP:PAID for more information. You should not edit any further until you make this declaration. Best practice would be for you to make edit requests for the changes instead of directly editing the article. -- Whpq (talk) 22:09, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

File:PNND Assembly - Astana, 2012.jpg

Hi Whpq. Could you take a look at File:PNND Assembly - Astana, 2012.jpg? There is a copyright statement at the bottom of the sourced website as the file's description states, but there's no mention of a specific license. -- 02:51, 14 March 2025 (UTC) Marchjuly (talk) 02:51, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

The copyright notice also includes some additional information All content on this website, if not indicated otherwise, can be shared freely with attribution to PNND but that statement is silent on derivatives and commercial use. It certainly is not the free use that is declared on the file. -- Whpq (talk) 13:01, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
The uploader subsequently added {{CopyrightedFreeUse-Link}} as the file's license. I don't think that resolves the issue, but I'm not sure. Is the file's licensing now OK or is VRT verification required here per WP:F11? -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:20, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
The site's copyright statement does not support the claimed license. -- Whpq (talk) 20:26, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
I've tagged the file with {{npd}}. If there's a better way to deal with this, feel freeto revert me. The uploader is a student editor participating in in the Wiki Ed course Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/UBC/HIST 432 2025 (Spring). I'll post something about this on the student's Wiki Ed advisor's user talk page. Perhaps the advisor will be able to explain what the issue is; in the meantime, though, would you mind watching the file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:37, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
That is probably the best action. I have the file watched now. Whpq (talk) 23:20, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Edit requests provides detailed information about edit requests. Be sure to be very clear on what change you are requesting by noting the existing text that is to be removed (if any), and the new text to be added (if any). -- Whpq (talk) 14:28, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Where I get my license --Joint212004 (talk) 14:03, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

You don't "get" a license. Wikipedia's Terms of Use grants that license, and your agreement to it means that you can use Wikipedia content per the license. It also means you agree to license your contributions that way as well. If you want a physical copy, you can print the license and terms of use on paper. -- Whpq (talk) 14:32, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Egon Huber draft

Hi - thanks very much for taking a look at my draft submission for a page on the influential Austrian ceramicist EGON HUBER. I can confirm that the website you refer to (www.tambent.com) is my own personal site that I have been running for many years. The images I have included on my draft Huber page are also my own, taken recently on the Greek island of Rhodes where Huber lived and worked for decades, during which time he developed the iconographic style for ICARO pottery that is now much sought after. He also during that time became a close friend of the writer Lawrence Durrell. I do hope this clears up the matter but if it does not satisfy you I will be prepared to remove the links/references to my site www.tambent.com. Thanks again and look forward to your reply when you have a moment to reconsider. Riga-to-Rangoon (talk) 04:55, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from DhruviShah17 (14:30, 24 March 2025)

Hi there, I’m new to Wikipedia editing and I’m interested in how mythology is shaped by historical and modern perspectives. While reading the Medusa article, I noticed that Athena’s role in “punishing” her is emphasized, while Poseidon’s role is barely mentioned. In Metamorphoses (Book IV), Ovid describes how Poseidon assaulted Medusa in Athena’s temple—yet this key context is minimized or missing in many summaries.

More recent scholarship, including Hélène Cixous’s The Laugh of the Medusa and Mary Beard’s work on women and power, has reinterpreted Medusa as more than just a villain or victim—she’s been seen as a symbol of survival, rage, and even protection. However, I don’t see much of this discourse reflected in the article. Given Wikipedia’s commitment to neutrality and comprehensive sourcing, I wanted to ask:

- Would expanding on Poseidon’s role—backed by proper citations—be an improvement to the article? - Has there been previous discussion on incorporating modern interpretations of Medusa’s myth, particularly feminist and literary analyses? - What’s the best way to introduce a well-sourced section on how the perception of Medusa has changed over time?

I want to contribute in a way that aligns with Wikipedia’s guidelines while ensuring the article presents a fuller, more accurate picture of the myth. I’d appreciate any guidance on how to approach this properly. Thank you so much mentor! --DhruviShah17 (talk) 14:30, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

Geernally, if you have reliable sources for your the changes you would like to make, you can be bold, and edit the article. If somebody disagrees with your change and reverts it, then you should start a discussion on the article's talk page. per Bold, Revert, Discuss. In this specific case with Medusa, the article is semi-protected, so as a new editor, you cannot make changes directly to the article. However, you can make an WP:edit request at Talk:Medusa by providing the exact wording you want changed. -- Whpq (talk) 14:40, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

User:100jan0vski

Hi, I noticed that you partially blocked 100jan0vski's editing. What's the appropriate next step for the user's images. I believe they're all taken from the web so I'd list them for deletion, but I'm not clear about the process for nominating multiple images on en-wiki (it's more straightforward on Commons). Thanks. Adeletron 3030 (talkedits) 18:32, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

You can nominate all together in a single nomination as likely copyright violations based on previous actions. Unfortunately, doing so on en.wiki is not as easy as on Commons. You will need to do it manually. Template:Ffd2a has instructions for multiple nomination listings. There are some tools listed here that might help. I haven't used them in a while and Fastily has retired so I'm not sure if they are still functional. If you run into issues trying to make the nomination, let me know and I will try my best to assist. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 19:06, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Adeletron 3030 (talkedits) 19:09, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Bingusbongus404 (17:34, 25 March 2025)

Hello! I am a Wikipedia newbie hoping to write a biography for a living professor/academic for whom I am currently working as a research assistant. While there are no commercial interests (the university and funding is public), I am aware this qualifies as a COI, and am wondering if it is still tenable for me to write the article myself if I make the proper disclosures in the Talk page. If so, I would also love to see a good article example for a living professor! --Bingusbongus404 (talk) 17:34, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I've left a welcome message with some information about conflict of interest. You will need to ensure the academic meets notability. Wikipedia:Notability (academics) provides more specific guidance on notability for academics. You should create your article as a draft, and when you feel it is ready, submit it for review through the Articles for Creation process where a reviewer will evaluate the submission and determine if it is ready to be published as an article. -- Whpq (talk) 19:30, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks so much boss! Bingusbongus404 (talk) 20:40, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

File:Japan Skating Federation Logo.jpeg

Hi Whpq. File:Japan Skating Federation Logo.jpeg and File:Japan Skating Federation logo.svg are essentially the same logo uploaded as different formats. Both files were orignally licensed as non-free logo, but I believe the logo is too simple for that; so, I converted each file's licensing to {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} because I'm not sure about c:COM:TOO Japan. Anyway, I think the jpeg was uploaded earlier today because someone wanted to use the file in another article and thought reuploading it made it OK to do so per WP:NFCCP. (FWIW, if this needs to be non-free, the use of the jpeg in Japan Figure Skating Championships would fail NFCC#1, #3 and #8). Anyway, assuming I wasn't be too bold in converting the licensing to PD, I'm not sure a svg and jpeg version are needed since the difference between the two is really minor and the svg could be used wherever the jpeg is being used. Does this need to be discussed at FFD or can the jpeg file be tagged for speedy deletion? -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:36, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

File:Bob-brown-reading-machine.jpg

Hi again Whpq. What do you make of File:Bob-brown-reading-machine.jpg and File:Bob-brown-readies-machine.jpg? They were uploaded by the same user earlier today within 10 minutes of one another. At first, I thought the uploader might've been trying to correct the mistake in the file name, but the "reading-machine" file was actually uploaded first. If these actually come from a book published in 1931, they're not old enough just quite yet to be {{PD-US-expired}}, but they could possibly be {{PD-US-not renewed}}. Regardless, two essentially identical files aren't needed; moreover, neither file is currently being used in the mainspace converting one of the two to non-free is not an option. Do you think there's enough here to license to "reading" files as "non renewed" and then tag the "readies" for deletion per F1? -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:58, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

In terms of choosing the file to tag for F1, I think it would be the "reading" file. I believe the "readies" nomenclature is deliberate. Bob Brown's concept was to have something similar to talking motion pictures which were known as "talkies", thus "readies". As for the license status, if you have determined that there is no renewal, then the license can be corrected. As it would be Pd and best hosed on Commons, it would be a good idea to check on the renewal. -- Whpq (talk) 15:28, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for looking at this, and also for catching the "readies/reading" nuance. That makes sense. I explain to the uploader about the file's licensing needing to be tweaked and tag the other file for speedy deletion per F1. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:26, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

LyonMUN

I would like to know why you deleted the LyonMUN page when other MUNs have Wikipedia page and LyonMun has a French page and we are working on introducing a English one Smint34 (talk) 13:17, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

I assume you are talking about Lyon Model United Nations. The article was deleted per WP:A7 as it made no credible claim of importance. I can restore this to draft space if you want to try to develop it there. -- Whpq (talk) 13:26, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
if possible yes i was still working on translating the French version to the English one, so if it is possible to restore it that would be great thanks! Smint34 (talk) 13:58, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
It is now available at Draft:Lyon Model United Nations. Heya, how do i change the title of a page? Thanks in advance. --Faaris Shaukat Ali (talk) 15:19, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

Changing a title of a page is done through moving it to a new title. Your account will need to be autoconfirmed before you can move pages. Note that if there is likelihood of somebody objecting to the new title, you should start a discussion on the article talk page to establish consensus before moving. Is there a particular page you think needs to at a new title? -- Whpq (talk) 01:53, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I am a programming learner. I created a Chinese translation for the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominance_(C%2B%2B) , but the system informed me that I do not have permission to add translations. As a result, I saved it as a draft and placed it at https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Redstone1024/%E4%BC%98%E5%85%88%E6%80%A7%E8%A7%84%E5%88%99%EF%BC%88C%2B%2B%EF%BC%89 . How should I merge it into the original page, or is it possible for someone to merge it on my behalf?" --Redstone1024 (talk) 04:44, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Fair use image deletion

Can I ask why you deleted this image (File:La Esperanza Prison El Salvador 2023.jpeg) I uploaded claiming fair use?

I'm not experienced with uploading non-free content.

Thank you, IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 23:03, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

You actually specified that this the file was for non-commercial use or Wikipedia use only. It was deleted per WP:F3. Wikipedia also goes by a stricter standard than fair use. As a Getty Image, it would not qualify for use as non-free content. -- Whpq (talk) 23:10, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Thank you. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 23:11, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
Do you think it would be possible to find an image suitable for upload here or does that seem unlikely?
Also you say "As a Getty Image", it would not qualify for use as non-free content. Why is that? Does this description "(Photo by Presidency of El Salvador / Handout / Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)" not make it a good candidate for fair use? IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 23:24, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
If you can establish that these were just part of a press package that was handed out to everybody versus images released only through news agencies, then you would have a case that WP:NFCC#2 is met. Without that the presumption would be that we are impinging on the commercial opportunities of the press agencies. -- Whpq (talk) 19:29, 15 April 2025 (UTC)

Just following up on your decline of speedy deletion, to ensure you were aware of [1] and [2]; the content there was placed there by a different user (same editor) who is adamant they should have two user pages, for which there seems to be no valid reason. Question regarding deleted page

My company’s page was recently deleted and I wanted to ask how it can be restored - Triad Strategies (deleted Mar 20) Msdapper (talk) 13:37, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

The article was deleted because there was no credible claim of importance in the article. Simply existing as a company is not sufficient reason for there to be an encyclopedia article about the company. I can restore this to draft space where you can work on developing it further by adding significant coverage from independent reliable sources to establish that the company meets the inclusion criteria for a Wikipedia article. Note that at the time of deletion, the article only had two references, a Bloomberg company database entry, and your own web site. Neither of those are useful to establish that an article is warranted. You will also need to comply with Wikipedia's terms of service on paid editing. I have left a note on your talk page with more information. -- Whpq (talk) 13:49, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

File:Alex dunne zandvoort 2025.jpg

Hi Whpq. Would you consider File:Alex dunne zandvoort 2025.jpg to be something in need of VRT verification? There are quite a number of photos of Alex Dunne found online, but this only shows up in reference to Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:05, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

The photo looks like it could be a self-snapped photo posed with Dunne. The EXIF shows it was taken with a cell phone camera and the date and time on the EXIF shows it was uploaded a short time later to Wikipedia. Is there something specific that makes you think verification is needed? -- Whpq (talk) 14:12, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
I came across the file while looking through Special:NewFiles and assess it pretty much as you do. I just wanted another opinion before tagging the file with {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}}, mainly due to the limited information about its provenance. I'll post something on the uploader's user talk page and ask them to provide a little more information using {{Information}}. -- Marchjuly (talk) 19:10, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

HMAS Moreton

Wikipedia incorrectly states that it was located at New Farm during WWII. It was at the Domain behind today's QUT. I tried to fix that yesterday by using text from my own Ozatwar web page on HMAS Moreton but it was removed because of Copyright!! So my own work was removed because I breached my own Copyright!! Ozatwar (talk) 07:22, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

With respect to copyright, your blog is not published under a compatible Creative Commons license. It is simply copyrighted. We would need verification that the copied text is being made available under a free license. The note about copyright on your talk page has a bullet point labelled "Copyrighted material donation" that provides information about releasing the material under a free license. Having said that, you blog would not be considered a reliable source, so your changes would be considered improperly sourced. My suggestion for resolving this would be to engage editors in related wikiprojects. I suggest you try getting assistance from Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 13:37, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

Using* Dangermanmeetz (talk) 17:41, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
I suggest you discuss this with the AFC reviewer. -- Whpq (talk) 18:32, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
Would you be able to show me where I can discuss this with one one? Dangermanmeetz (talk) 18:50, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
Ignore the other message, I did discuss with the reviewer, they claimed I used an LLM and I did not. How will I then be able to get my article submitted ? Dangermanmeetz (talk) 18:51, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
You need to remember to log in when you edit. I had checked your contributions and didn't see any discussion but it looks like you discussed with without logging in. If you are trying to get the draft published, then you need to address the sourcing. As for your use or not of LLM, you can look at the advice at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. -- Whpq (talk) 18:57, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, appreciate the help! Dangermanmeetz (talk) 19:30, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Reverosie (18:00, 23 May 2025)

Hello!

I tried to edit a Wikipedia article, but whenever I attempted to add a citation, all of the other citations in the references list vanished as soon as I created one. The citations were still visible throughout the article, but they were entirely purged from the list of citations.

Is this just a cosmetic glitch in the editor? How do I prevent/stop this? --Reverosie (talk) 18:00, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Which editor are you using? There is a visual editor, and a source text editor. The visual editor is a WYSISWG style editor. I really have not used that editor much so I am not too familiar with it. I am much more familiar withe source text editor which requires one to type in markup code to format things.
If you are using the source text editor, I suspect that what has happened is that there is an improperly closed wiki markup tag. What article were you trying to edit? What were you trying to add?
If you are using the visual editor, I suggest asking your question at the Teahouse. The Teahouse hosts are friendly knowledgeable editors who can help with editing questions for new editors. I'm sure one of them has much more knowledge of the visual editor than I, and can provide better advice.
Cheers. Whpq (talk) 18:21, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Thank you so much for the quick reply!
I was using the visual editor, so I'll ask my question at the Teahouse like you suggested.
Thanks again :) Reverosie (talk) 18:25, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from ArielleTey (11:35, 24 May 2025)

Dear Mentor, I've decided to make an article on wikepedia, mainly because I'm bored and don't have much else to do. Can you give me some topics / ideas to start off with, please? Kind regards, ArielleTey --ArielleTey (talk) 11:35, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. It's great that you want to write an article, but writing an article is one of the most difficult tasks. My suggestions is to start slowly with making edits to existing articles before attempting to create an article. This will assist you in learning how to operate the editor, and familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. When you are ready to create a new article, you need to ensure that the article meets the criteria for having a standalone article on Wikipedia. This is referred to as notability. The article would need to be referenced with reliable sources. Help:Your first article has advice for writing your first article. As for what topic to write about, that is really up to you. I've left a welcome message on your talk page with some helpful links. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 11:52, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Battsogt Purevdorj (08:05, 25 May 2025)

Hi, How to add a new publication in Wikipedia with puctures --Battsogt Purevdorj (talk) 08:05, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi. I assume you want to create a new article. Writing a new article is one of the most difficult tasks in Wikipedia. Adding images can improve an article. Any use of images needs to comply with the Image Use Policy. The keys things to remember are that images must be freely licensed. Exceptions to that licensing are considered non-free content and would need to meet all of the non-free content criteria. -- Whpq (talk) 12:12, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from MilesMogul87 (10:12, 25 May 2025)

Hey mentor! I'm fairly new to Wikipedia again after editing a couple of years ago. One case that got my attention is the page of Josh Cahill. Though my edit was well sourced and backed by other editors a User called Jpatokal keeps on interrupting edits without providing any sources and accuses me of COI. I have strictly followed the guidelines but he is making me uncomfortable. Did I do anything wrong? Your help is much appreciated. --MilesMogul87 (talk) 10:12, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

It looks like much of the "facts" for Josh Cahill are disputed. Content disputes need to be hashed out on the article's talk page and I see that there is discussion there. As for the accusations of COI, you can simply state that you have no conflict of interest. Unless the accusing editor has evidence, then continued accusations would not be appropriate. Edits and reversions should follow the WP:BRD cycle, but in such contentious situations, there better course of action may be to gain concensus for significant changes to the article before making them. -- Whpq (talk) 12:23, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Bot

So we don't have a bot that, when a file is renamed, edits the articles to implement the change?

When I request a move on Commons the CommonsDelinker bot edits the articles to have them use the new name.

But you did it manually (which is correct, according to WP:FMV). Sounds like an easy task for a bot, or is there a reason that people do this manually? Polygnotus (talk) 03:48, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

I am not aware of a bot that does this. I would expect that moving files occurs much less on enwiki than at Commons where the raison d'etre is files. There's probably no pressing need for such a bot. -- Whpq (talk) 13:30, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Reverosie (21:01, 26 May 2025)

Hello!

I already asked this question at the Teahouse, but it's been three hours with no response, and I'm wondering if I could try my luck at getting one from here.

I was curious about the process of promoting articles from B-Class to Good Article status, and have a few questions about it:

1. If an article fails a nomination, how much time do you have to wait before it can be nominated again? 2. How much time do you have to fulfill requests by a reviewer before said reviewer fails you? I'm worried about this because of my own schedule 3. How long does the process of review take in the first place, and how rigorous is it? How many nominated articles usually pass? 4. What's the difference between a good article and an A-Class article in the first place? Which rating is "higher"? 5. Most importantly of all, is the article I've been preparing ready to be nominated? Why or why not? The article is Baldwin IV of Jerusalem

Thank you so much in advance! --Reverosie (talk) 21:01, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

I am not familiar with the GA process. I don't want to provide bad advice so I will just suggest you be a bit more patient for a Teahouse answer. Wikipedia is a global project so editors come from around the world and may be asleep right now in their time zone. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 21:17, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

File:Frankie Lymon tombstone on crate.jpeg

To whom may it concern,

Would you provide me one of the concise reasons why the [File:Frankie Lymon tombstone on crate.jpeg] has been deleted? Thanks! I’ll do my best with that. Inajd Inajd0101 (talk) 18:46, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

The file was deleted per WP:F3 as a file that is licensed only for use on Wikipedia. With some very narrow exceptions that would not apply in this case, images must by freely licensed. This means that not only must the permission be given to use on Wikipedia, permission must also be granted for anybody else to build upon that image including making derivative works and using the image for commercial purposes. If the person who holds the copyright is willing to release the image under such a license, then you need to have them follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Note that the person sending a permission email to you is not sufficient proof. And simply saying something like "I'm okay with it being used on Wikipedia" is not acceptable either. The permission statement must specify a license under which the image is being released. -- Whpq (talk) 18:53, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from FRANciumal87 (08:49, 17 June 2025)

Hello, how to find resources quickly and tell me what not to do on Wikipedia especially copyright rules. --FRANciumal87 (talk) 08:49, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

I'mn not sure what you mean by finding resources quickly. If you need help, the Teahouse is a good place to get editing help. As for what not to do, it's impossible to come up with an exhaustive list. Just behave well and don't be a jerk. AS for copyright, Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright has more information. Two simple rules to follow if you are unsure are (1) write in your own word and {2) don't upload images you find on the Internet. If you need help, again, you can ask at the Teahouse, For questions about copyright on media, you can ask at Media copyright questions. -- Whpq (talk) 12:13, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello there I am curious about one thing, how do you add those widgets on your user page? --Gameandwatch9 (talk) 22:28, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

I'm assuming you mean the boxes on the right side of my user page. Those are userboxes. You would need to find the userbox you want and add it be editing your user page. -- Whpq (talk) 02:11, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

The New Leviathan Oriental Fox-Trot Orchestra

I've restored (to an earlier version) The New Leviathan Oriental Fox-Trot Orchestra. IMO the article should have been reverted to a version before the addition of copyright violation material than unilaterally deleted, as versions have existed on Wikipedia for more than 20 years and it had multiple other articles linking to it. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 15:06, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for digging into this further and correcting the mistaken deletion. I agree that the orchestra's web site has copied Wikipedia. Although already flagged ion the article comments, I've also flagged this as a reverse copyvio with a template on the article talk page. -- Whpq (talk) 15:28, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
Great, thanks. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 19:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from Clarence Clemons II (15:26, 25 June 2025)

Hello Whpq. Yesterday I discovered some very inaccurate information about the area Salvation Army organization. It completely shifts the framework of its independent social structure and status, and needs to be addressed. I felt that a notable entry to clarify the history, work and foundation of this agency would be significantly important to the redirect the misinformation online and in AI searches. I would be glad to submit my information for your perusal as a historian of the non-profit work in this area. --Clarence Clemons II (talk) 15:26, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

It is unclear what organisation you are referring to as we have multiple Salvation Army articles. As for submitting material for me to review, I am not an "historian of the non-profit work in this area". I'm not sure why you think that I am. If you have some changes to an article that you want to propose, you can initiate a discussion on the article talk page. If you have very specific changes backed with references in reliable sources, you can make an edit request on the article talk page. I've left a welcome message on your user talk page with some helpful links for new editors. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 15:39, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from PaulaReimer (15:23, 5 July 2025)

Hello, I had not used the Sandbox when I created an article a few years ago (Minze Stuiver biography). Note: this was done in a different account but I couldn't log into it (email address may have been stored differently). Anyway I created a new account and put an wrote an article in my Sandbox but did not format the references. I went ahead and submitted it to see if there were any problems with it. Perhaps I should retract if that is possible and finalize the references? --PaulaReimer (talk) 15:23, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome back to Wikipedia. If you have previously used a different account, it is good practice to acknowledge the other account with a note on your user page. With regard to your sandbox, you have not actually submitted the sandbox draft. The formatting is wonky because "<nowiki>" tags gave been added the headers which tell the Wikipedia software to treat it as plain text and not wiki markup. References should use one of the usual reference formats in use on Wikipedia. Help:Referencing for beginners has some information about the very basic citation templates. Wikipedia:Citing sources has much more detailed information on formatting citations, and different citation styles. That might include a style more familiar to you as an academic. If you need help with editing, you can ask me, or ask for help at the Teahouse. Especially for citation styles beyond the basic one, the Teahouse might be a better place to ask for help as I am not too familiar with other citation styles. -- Whpq (talk) 19:50, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
