Bosnia flag
[edit]Here's some more info I found:
The Decree with Statutory Power on the Establishemnt of the Temporary Coat of arms and the Flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was issued on 27 March 1992 in the official gazette Službeni list Bosne i Hercegovine , No. 7, with effect on the same day.
Article 1. The coat of arms of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is of a shield shape coloured blue divided into two fields by a diagonal bend coloured white and with three stylized fleurs-de-lis coloured golden-yellow in each of the fields.
Article 2. The flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is rectangular with the coat of arms of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the middle on a white field. The ratio of the width to the length of the flag is one to two.
So not only was the flag without the border used more (as far as I can tell), there was also no border mentioned in the Decree. 🔥Jalapeño🔥 Stupid stuff I did 19:47, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Islam in the United Kingdom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yemen War. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Bosnian CoA and flag
[edit]No problem, I'm new to Wikipedia, so I thought you were trolling with all those edits, I apologize. I made changes to the coat of arms and flag after thorough research, and I agree with your SVG suggestion. I'll add it in the next period and update the links. Also, the army's coat of arms still needs to be done. The point is that I wrote a big reply to explain it to you, but the description part after the edits has a limit, so I couldn't send it.
I thought you were using some AI to take the text from the image and translate it into English, but if you'd like, you can reply to one of the two Reddit posts, and I'll translate the important segments you're interested in or answer to any other questions you have. In any case, the old version you reverted is incorrect, not only because of the colors but also because of the shape of the shield, the position and the thickness of the bar (bend) inside it, and then everything else. I couldn't send you the message, so I have to do it this way.
Edit:
I would also like to ask you to make the change for me on the Bosnian Wikipedia because for some reason it won't let me.
FiliusBosnensis (talk) 19:10, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! Don't worry about the way you said trolling, all is forgiven! I have changed the coat of arms, national anthem and the flag on the Bosnian Wikipedia. Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to change!
- If you are unable to change something else on Wikipedia, you can always let me know and I can give it a go. I just want to comment that I am not on Wikipedia all of the time, so I may miss a message.
- Although I am Bosniak, unfortunately I cannot speak Bosnian. This is because my mother fled her hometown Olovo (north of Sarajevo) in 1992 when the Serb tanks entered the town. She moved to Sweden, and then my parents moved to the United Kingdom. I would really love to learn Bosnian, and I will have lots of time to do so in the summer.
- Thank you for digging deep into this investigation, sifting through documents from the 90s, as this has truly helped us find the true flag of our beloved Republika Bosna i Hercegovina.
- Kind regards,

- I'm really glad we're compatriots! Don't worry about Bosnian, you've got plenty of time to learn. For some reason, I’m unable to edit the Bosnian Wikipedia at the moment. It looks like a certain range of IP addresses from my ISP has been banned in the capital until the end of the month. Since I’m behind the same NAT, I’m affected too, even though I only joined Wikipedia for the first time on March 1st.
- I really appreciate your willingness to help! If you're interested in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosniaks, or if you enjoy Bosnian heraldry and vexillology, from Ban Kulin time to the present day, be sure to check out the r/bihstorija subreddit. There’s a lot of interesting content, and if needed, you can translate the page on your browser to get the most out of it.
- Regarding the coat of arms, it was created out of a deep sense of national awareness and an understanding of the importance of national symbols. These symbols deserve to be treated with respect and according to proper standards, which is why we made this version as precise as possible, down to the millimeter. The only thing left to refine is the exact color shades, as we currently only have textual descriptions without defined RGB, CMYK, or HEX values.
- If you have the time and would like to be part of the Bosnian online community, feel free to join the subreddit r/bih (bs. Bosna i Hercegovina), as it's our largest community. The content is in Bosnian, but I believe that participating and reading with using a site translation tool would help you a lot.
- Just a heads-up, you might come across a lot of political posts, as Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently going through a major crisis, possibly even one that threatens its very existence...

- I am somewhat informed on Bosnia's current political situation, with the OHR favouring the Croats at the expense of everyone else, and the American embassies meddling everywhere in Bosnia. Milorad Dodik even said that the 'war starts on Wednesday' and he also said even crazier things such as, 'sve je zeleno u federaciji bih'. He acts like a clown except that it is not a joke and this threats the very existence of Bosnia. He has the full support of Hungary. During the sentencing of Fadil Novalić, the judge sentencing him (Branko Perić, a Serb), even said that the court was not acting independently. This isn't even mentioning that Schmitt changed the election law on the day of the elections in 2022 in order to favour the Croats.
- The OHR has simply been useless, failing to revert names changed by the Serbs, such as reverting Brod back to Bosanski Brod, and Novi Grad back to Bosanski Novi. It is a dictatorial position where a non-Muslim gets power to help the non-Muslim minorities to defeat the Muslims in the country where the OHR was meant to protect everyone. They also destroyed our flag of golden lilies and our beautiful national anthem, Jedna si Jedina.
- With regards to creating the correct design for the flag, coat of arms and army, you need to also redraw the flag of 'Teritorijalna odbrana Republike Bosne i Hercegovine' and 'Patriotska Liga'.
- I am also truly excited to learn more about my Bosnian roots, so I will definitely be checking out the subreddit r/bihistorija and r/bih! I have typically been on r/bosnia because more of the content has been in English.
- Again, thank you for putting time and effort into correcting the flag and coat of arms. I apologise for my ignorance and stubbornness about the flag and hopefully we can together begin to phase out the incorrect design for the correct one. This is especially important in a time where Bosniaks need to be prepared against the invaders and know their own history, which SFRJ tried so hard to suppress. Thankfully, there has been some progress, for example, a street in my mother's hometown has had its name changed from Đuro Pucar street to Husein Kapetan Gradaščević street.
- Kind regards,

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

[edit]
Your recent editing history at Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
