Incomplete DYK nomination
[edit] Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/First Anglo–Ashanti War at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; if you would like to continue, please link the nomination to the nominations page as described in step III of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 18:16, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Pretty sure I've done it. Setergh (talk) 20:33, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Setergh, this has indeed been addressed. However, the current issue with the nomination—WP:CLOP, or close paraphrasing or overuse of uncredited material—has not been addressed since the nomination was pulled from queue. It's important that you edit the article to address the issues raised in a timely manner, and respond on the nomination page when you have completed the necessary updates and are ready for a new reviewer. (The original reviewer, Hawkeye7, must be replaced, as DYK requires a different reviewer from the GA reviewer precisely because they may have missed issues with the article, as happened here.) Thank you very much. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:55, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Just drop the DYK nomination then. Setergh (talk) 17:57, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Bolesław II the Bold's Expedition to Kiev (1077) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Bolesław II the Bold's Expedition to Kiev (1077). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. My draft
[edit]You marked my draft (Draft:ChromeOS Flex) as being reviewed, however you still did not finish reviewing it. I'm wondering how long this will take? Justjourney (talk | contribs) 15:21, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ghulja Massacre (1949)
[edit]Hello Setergh,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ghulja Massacre (1949) for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Ghulja Massacre (1949) to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

- Agreed, thank you for the nomination, my mistake for forgetting to do so myself. Setergh (talk) 19:58, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
Hello. I've deleted the aforementioned page as a malformed copy-and-paste move; if you wish to nominate the article for deletion, please see WP:HOWTOAFD. DatGuyTalkContribs 21:12, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

- And glad to hear you're willing to take the feedback, good luck in future editing! Setergh (talk) 15:36, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Articles for Creation backlog drive
[edit]
Hello Setergh:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.
ANI
[edit]It's really not a good idea to repost information that has already been suppressed. Connecting Wikipedia accounts to accounts on other websites where that connection hasn't already been made is considered doxxing, and it's rare for people to get more than one warning about it before being blocked. If you have relevant private information about another user's potential misconduct, there are multiple avenues to report it privately. stwalkerster (talk) 16:36, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Understood, even though I feel that such a rule is quite strange when it comes to a situation where mentioning this is quite relevant, but I suppose that's just Wikipedia guidelines. Setergh (talk) 16:41, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of First Anglo-Ashanti War
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on First Anglo-Ashanti War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://archive.org/details/arrogantarmiesgr0000perr/ https://archive.org/details/isbn_0415078229/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Grnrchst (talk) 10:40, 22 May 2025 (UTC)

- Hello. I understand the deletion of the first and the second, but not this one. I made sure to write everything in my own words for this page specifically, so I have no clue how I was infringing on copyright for this one? Setergh (talk) 14:44, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Substantial amounts of the article were copied directly from the linked book, I know because I checked them side by side. The speedy deletion rationale was also confirmed by BusterD. If you think this was deleted in error, feel free to make a request for deletion review. --Grnrchst (talk) 14:50, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
