Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tweet (social media)
[edit]This AfD is clearly inappropriate, and you should withdraw it. We don't delete articles because a name the topic is known by has changed. Please don't waste people's time like this before you understand how Wikipedia works. AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:58, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- This is a new user, @AndyTheGrump. There are nicer ways you could have said that. Chess enjoyer (talk) 05:01, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- Possibly. Meanwhile though, we have an utterly pointless AfD, from a contributor that thinks that it is 'really important' to be able to nominate articles for deletion.[1] I'd have to suggest that discouraging any more pointless AfD's takes priority. AndyTheGrump (talk) 05:09, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
Tone issues aside, the AFD has already been speedy closed. NotaBlocker, what Andy said is true. Your nomination didn't give a valid reason to delete the article. I would recommend that you read WP:DELREASON before you nominate another article for deletion. Chess enjoyer (talk) 05:15, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia @NotaBlocker! Your AfD was the wrong venue, however the reasoning was logical. You might be interested in starting a move request on the article talk page instead. I'll take this opportunity to remind @AndyTheGrump and @Chess enjoyer of WP:BITE. The AfD was quickly closed and no resulting harm was done. 11WB (talk) 06:35, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- What did I do? Chess enjoyer (talk) 06:41, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, I read your message as being bitey. On second reading, I may have misjudged that. 11WB (talk) 06:43, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
