AutoEd

Welcome! For cookie-cutter manipulation of page source code, I'd recommend making an Wikipedia:AutoEd module instead. See User:Aaron Liu/AutowIll.js for an example. Aaron Liu (talk) 17:02, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

Ok, thanks that sounds useful. Macaw* 17:05, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

William Woodward, Jr., revert revert

Hello User:Macaw*. Just wanted to acknowledge your prompt revert of an errant revert. Accidents happen. Well done.

(And that's an awesome template (telling people not to template you). Now that you point it out, besides being impolite, templates create all kinds of havoc (and induce far more edit wars than they avert) here at WP. Too bad that is not more broadly understood. 2601:196:180:DC0:24C4:2DEE:AA82:A67F (talk) 17:28, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Yeah sorry about that misunderstanding I didn't realize that “so ruled” ment ruled by the courts. Thanks for understanding. Macaw* 17:32, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I appreciate your acuity in rethinking my (obviously) too-brief edit summary. Which indeed should have read "So ruled by the courts" - not (seemingly) by some anonymous unregistered user. I am grateful for this lesson, as I have previously learned the hard way that often the less said the better in edit summaries (being perverse in a similar way to user abuse templates). As the more one says the more likely any one word (let alone thought or argument) may set someone else off, and it doesn't take much for an unregistered user to get reverted...to no recourse. (Their record in edit wars is 0-101,000,000.) Like any pendulum, I need to be more aware of mine swinging too far toward brevity. Thanks. 2601:196:180:DC0:24C4:2DEE:AA82:A67F (talk) 17:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
