Question from Sushma1510 on Wikipedia:Teahouse (09:30, 14 January 2025)
Hi, I joined Wikipedia because I read this book, which doesn't have a wikipedia page. Do you think it's okay for me to create it? --Sushma1510 (talk) 09:30, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Sushma1510, I generally don't recommend very new editors diving straight into article creation (take a look at Wikipedia:Task Center for some more beginner friendly tasks), but if you feel ready, Help:Your first article is a good guide to article creation. The subjects of articles on Wikipedia must satisfy the Notability Guidelines. Specifically, it should have "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". You should also check Wikipedia:Notability (books), the subject-specific notability guideline for books. Liu1126 (talk) 14:21, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement JSFM on Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects (14:38, 22 January 2025)
What’s about my article it’s published? --Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement JSFM (talk) 14:38, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement JSFM, you posted your request at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects, which is the incorrect venue for creating new articles and therefore your request was automatically declined. Redirects on Wikipedia are used for directing accesses to certain article names to another already existing article. You should follow the instructions on the main Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Additionally, your username suggests that you are associated with the organization that is the subject of your proposed article, which is considered a conflict of interest on Wikipedia. Please review the suggestions at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide before proceeding. Liu1126 (talk) 14:46, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- What’s problem in my article please tell me Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement JSFM (talk) 14:48, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Like I said above, you are requesting the creation of a new article, not a redirect, which is why it was automatically declined at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects, the page specifically for requesting the creation of redirects. The request should be made by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Additionally, your article is written from the perspective of your organization and reads too much like a promotional piece. Please see WP:SOAPBOX; Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion. You should also review the links I provided above about managing your conflict of interest. Liu1126 (talk) 14:57, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

“Hello!” I have signed up to contribute to this amazing tool. I am an experienced voice artist intending to do have an impact there. To do my best I want to begin by creating new and perhaps editing some existing wikis. Question: In order to have the most impact, I want to first record the 100 most accessed articles; Do you know how I can get such a list? THANKS! --TLH2024+ (talk) 15:32, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

- Hi @Josephakpabio, Help:Your first article is a good guide to the article creation process. However, article creation is a fairly difficult task that I would not recommend for new editors; you can check out some of the easier tasks at the Wikipedia:Task Center to gain some experience before trying to create a new article from scratch. Other tutorials like Help:Introduction and Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia may also be helpful. Liu1126 (talk) 01:48, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from CwHerby13 (16:40, 24 February 2025)
I believe I have made the necessary adjustments to my page to meet Wiki standards for publishing. Could you take a look for me? --CwHerby13 (talk) 16:40, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @CwHerby13, the main issue with the Lincoln School Project article right now is that the inline citations are positioned incorrectly. The inline citations should be place at the end of the sentence(s) or paragraph that it's intended to support, not clustered at the start or end of the article, nor within section headings. If you have the time, I would recommend reading the inline citation section of Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Inline citation to better understand how inline citations are used.
- Some other problems:
- You've got a lot of level 2 sections that are followed by a fairly short section, which seems somewhat jarring. Consider combining some of the sections, possibly using level 3 or lower headings to provide further internal division if necessary. See WP:SECTIONLEVELS for technical details on section headings.
- The External links section is currently empty. I would recommend either moving the https://www.lincolnschoolproject.com/ link in the History section header to External links (there shouldn't be links in section headers anyway, per MOS:NOSECTIONLINKS), or deleting the empty section outright.
- Some of the language sounds too flowery (such as the image caption in the lead section). This could be seen as puffery or even promotion, so try to remove any unnecessary adjectives/adverbs unless you're directly quoting a source.
- Liu1126 (talk) 19:17, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for the reply! I didn't realize I could move those inline citations myself! The system just kind of placed them, so that's awesome.
- I apologize, I wasn't aware that there were links in the section headers, I will take a look.
- I can also de-flower some of the language. I'm a writer by trade, so I guess I tent to get a bit flowery. CwHerby13 (talk) 19:22, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from Romanzargar7 (15:23, 27 February 2025)
hello sir as i am new to wikipedia can you tell me how to add an article --Romanzargar7 (talk) 15:23, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Romanzargar7, Help:Your first article is a comprehensive guide to creating new articles. However, I would recommend gaining some more experience by working on easier tasks first, like the ones at the Wikipedia:Task Center or the structured tasks on your homepage. Liu1126 (talk) 15:28, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Lt TARGET (21:37, 28 February 2025)
I was editing the Politics of Trinidad and Tobago Wikipedia page when notice that the President's Wikipedia page says she is affiliated with the People's National Movement political party but the Politics of Trinidad and Tobago Wikipedia page main office holder table list her as Independent. Should this be change? --Lt TARGET (talk) 21:37, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Lt TARGET, according to Christine Kangaloo's Wikipedia article (which is supported by Newsday source), she resigned from the PNM in 2015 after being elected as senate president, so the Politics of Trinidad and Tobago article is correct in saying that she's an independent. If you think either page is unclear on describing her party affiliation, feel free to edit the wording. Liu1126 (talk) 23:36, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from Lt TARGET (14:43, 3 March 2025)
Hello, good day. I was going through the suggested edits and one of the pages was Operations (military staff) but when look it up Wikipedia has another page describing the same concept, Staff (military). I remember seeing some Wiki pages with a notice to merge articles. How do I do that for Operations (military staff) --Lt TARGET (talk) 14:43, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Lt TARGET, the process for proposing a merge is described at WP:MERGEINIT. In this specific case, you would:
- 1. Create a discussion (with a title along the lines of "Merge proposal") at Talk:Staff (military), explaining why you think Operations (military staff) should be merged into Staff (military).
- 2. Tag both articles with
{{merge|OTHERPAGE|discuss=Talk:Staff (military)#SECTION TITLE|date=March 2025}}
where OTHERPAGE should be the title of the other article and SECTION TITLE should be the title you chose for the section discussing the merge. - 3. Wait for discussion. It could take weeks to months for there to be adequate participation such that consensus may emerge.
- 4. Close the discussion and perform the merge if there is rough consensus to merge (or someone else may do so in your stead). See Wikipedia:Merging#How to merge for technical details, but this generally involves copying over any useful content from Operations (military staff) to Staff (military) and replacing the source article with a redirect.
- You can ask for further help at WP:MERGEREQ to create the merge request. Liu1126 (talk) 20:54, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Question from Lengeloi (09:32, 6 March 2025)
How do I create a new article in my sandbox? --Lengeloi (talk) 09:32, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Lengeloi, since you've already created the page User:Lengeloi/sandbox before, you just have to replace the redirect there with your new article. You can get to the page by clicking the link in the "(Redirected from User:Lengeloi/sandbox)" that appears just below the title of the target page, or by using this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lengeloi/sandbox&redirect=no. - Hi, just to be sure I can start with a new article that is not related to the previous one (redirected) Lengeloi (talk) 11:33, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, as long as no other articles depend on the redirect (and as Special:WhatLinksHere/User:Lengeloi/sandbox indicates, no other important pages use the link to your sandbox), the redirect can be overwritten as needed. Liu1126 (talk) 16:03, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Iamvjones06 (23:50, 13 March 2025)
I am creating a page for one of my clients. How do I change the username or make the title in her name? --Iamvjones06 (talk) 23:50, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Iamvjones06. Change the title of a page is known as a "page move" on Wikipedia. There are detailed instructions at Wikipedia:Moving a page, but in short, most page moves can be done once you are autoconfirmed. If you are prevented from making a move due to technical reasons, you can ask for help at Wikipedia:Requested moves. To change your username, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Changing username. Additionally, if you haven't already, I would recommend reading Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (or the simpler and more practical guide, Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide), since you would be considered to have a conflict of interest with regards to your client. Question from Josephfred747 on Boeing 737 Next Generation (23:20, 14 March 2025)
How to add a picture --Josephfred747 (talk) 23:20, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Josephfred747. First, if the picture isn't already on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, you'll have to upload it. You can use the Wikipedia:File upload wizard to help you do this (if you're uploading to Commons, please make sure that the image is your own work or is freely licensed; otherwise you can upload it locally on Wikipedia under fair use). Then, you can add the image using the standard image syntax. The brief version looks like this:
[[File:Name|Type
. Just fill in the relevant information and place the code wherever you want the image to appear in the article. You can also use the visual editor to insert images by using the "insert" dropdown at the top. You can learn more by going through the tutorials at Help:Introduction to images with VisualEditor or Help:Introduction to images with Wiki Markup, and you can find more information at Wikipedia:Extended image syntax and Help:Pictures. Question from BonnieMain (16:57, 21 March 2025)
Hello, I have a quick question. How do I add a video to a page and add a description to the video? --BonnieMain (talk) 16:57, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @BonnieMain, adding videos to articles is mostly the same as adding images. The easiest way would be to use the visual editor. Open the "Insert" dropdown and select "Images and media". If you wish to use the source editor instead, the code syntax for adding media files is:
[[File:Name|Type
. Insert the code where you want the image to be and fill out the fields. Put the name of the file in the "Name" field and the description in the "Caption" field. You can fiddle with the other fields, or just leave them blank. There is documentation on the syntax at Help:Pictures. You can also go through the tutorials Help:Introduction to images with VisualEditor and Help:Introduction to images with Wiki Markup. - Hi @Lt TARGET. It's fine to just revert them initially if you disagree with their edits, as I see you've already done. However, if they insist on changing the page back, don't keep reverting, as this would be considered edit warring. Instead, try to talk to the other editor on the article talk page and come to an agreement. If discussion fails, seek other means of dispute resolution on Wikipedia. Question from Дмитрий Владимирович Евсеев on User talk:Дмитрий Владимирович Евсеев (12:22, 4 April 2025)
I would like add a new article about Parawinging. It's a new water sport. I made unique text and picture with explanation of structure a parawing. Problem that word parawing is redirected to other article. That's why I try to add new article 'Parawinging' or how to add new meaning to existing article 'Parawing'? --Дмитрий Владимирович Евсеев (talk) 12:22, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Дмитрий Владимирович Евсеев, as the link parawing is already used in a few places, it would be inadvisable to replace it with an article unless it is demonstrably linked more strongly to your new proposed subject. Could you describe this new water sport in greater detail or draft an article for it in draftspace or userspace? That way it would be easier for me to help you evaluate whether it should replace the parawing redirect, be created under a different title, or added to the current rogallo wing article. Question from SR75385 (17:06, 4 March 2025)
Hi there!
I would like to update the Heidi.com Wikipedia page, as the current article refers to the now-defunct Swiss fashion brand. The domain "Heidi.com" is now owned by Heidi, a UK-based ski holiday booking platform. This request proposes replacing the outdated content with information about the current company.
The new version of the article is structured to align with Wikipedia’s neutrality, verifiability, and notability guidelines. References to third-party sources have been included. Since the existing page refers to a defunct Swiss fashion brand, I propose the following:
1. Move the existing "Heidi.com" article to "Heidi (fashion brand)" to preserve historical information about the original company.
2. Replace the current "Heidi.com" page with this updated article about the ski holiday booking company.
This approach aligns with Wikipedia’s notability and neutrality policies, ensuring that both companies have a proper record. If additional independent sources are required, please advise, and I will provide further citations.
I have posted this request in the 'Talk' section on the Heidi.com page, along with the proposed updated content.
Please could you advise on what happens next?
Thank you --SR75385 (talk) 17:06, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @SR75385. Since the official registered name of the Swiss fashion brand is "heidi.com" while the holiday operator's name is just "Heidi", the fashion brand has an arguably stronger claim to this current title. I would instead recommend directly creating a new article for the holiday operator with a different title (something like "Heidi (holiday operator)"; see Wikipedia:Article titles for further information on choosing a title). You can do this by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Articles for creation, where you can use the Wikipedia:Article wizard to help create a new draft for the article.
- If you still believe that the holiday operator should use the "Heidi.com" title, you can start a discussion by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Controversial. If consensus is in agreement with your position to move, the closer of the discussion will move the page for you, and then you can create the new article at the "Heidi.com" title. I would still recommend drafting the new article in draftspace (again using the Wikipedia:Article wizard) or in one of your user subpages for editing convenience. Liu1126 (talk) 20:30, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your advice. Would it be possible for me to add a line into the other defunct company's existing "Heidi.com" page that stats the Heidi.com domain name is now owned by Heidi the holiday company? And then create a new page titled 'Heidi (holiday operator)', which is linked to from the reference in the Heidi.com page? SR75385 (talk) 16:53, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

- Great, thank you! 2A00:23C7:599:A101:D565:C561:E177:D7CE (talk) 18:55, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again Liu1126, one more question: I am currently an employee of Heidi - does this mean I can submit a request to add a new page about the company? As long as the information on the page is purely factual and unbiased, is it likely to get approved? SR75385 (talk) 14:30, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again! Yes, you are allowed and in fact required to submit article drafts through the aforementioned Wikipedia:Articles for creation process instead of directly creating such a page, since you would be considered to have a conflict of interest with articles related to your employer. There shouldn't be any problem as long as the content follows general Wikipedia policies and guidelines; we just need an unassociated, neutral editor to check your work. If you haven't already, I would recommend reading the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for more advice on your situation. Feel free to ask me or editors involved in the Articles for creation process if you need further clarification. Liu1126 (talk) 16:46, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you so much for your help! SR75385 (talk) 15:44, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Liu1126, How can I add a copyrighted company logo as an image to a page about a company (like this: Skyscanner) without releasing the copyright of the logo? Because I don't personally own the rights to the logo.
- Or, on this company page, they have the logo included in a screengrab of the website: Booking.com. How can I do the same for Heidi, the company I am writing the page about? Thank you. SR75385 (talk) 16:52, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! Firstly re: the copyright issue, it is possible that the company logo is trademarked but not copyrighted if it doesn't meet the threshold of originality (which was the case with the Skyscanner logo). I'm afraid I'm not familiar with copyright law, so you would need to consult a lawyer or ask at c:Commons:Village pump/Copyright (the place where editors of Wikimedia Commons discuss copyright issues). If it indeed isn't copyrighted, it can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons as usual.
- If you want to upload content that is copyrighted (like the Booking.com page), you would have to do so under the fair use doctrine. Since it is copyrighted, it must be uploaded locally on Wikipedia. You will need to create the article first (having it pass through the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process), since the file page will need to state where it is used. After you've done that, you can either make a request for another experienced editor to upload the file for you at Wikipedia:Files for upload, or (if you are autoconfirmed by then) you can upload it yourself using the Wikipedia:File upload wizard. Both pages contain step-by-step instructions.
- I would also recommend reading the Wikipedia:Non-free content policy. One thing you need to take note of is the resolution of the image: it generally needs to be smaller than its original resolution but sill clear enough to be useful. There's some information on this at WP:IMAGERES, which is a subsection of the aforementioned Non-free content policy. Liu1126 (talk) 17:35, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks so much for your help! SR75385 (talk) 08:34, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Somecomputerscientist (21:38, 22 April 2025)
Hello, that was quick, yea ive had an account before a while ago (which i lost access to due to my old email stop working) but this is the first time ive done so with intent to contribute.
Glad to be here :)
I do have a question. Its about the WolframAlpha page and its derivatives, its actually what triggered my account creation. i noticed all the critical information was removed and only positive info remained on it. i know its already tagged and some people made some minor fixes, but on Wikipedia.
If a bad actor alters/removes content every time someone fixes the page, how can i combat that as effectively as possible, as a contributor?
As a complementary bit of added information around this (its not essential, feel free to skip if it doesn't interest you):
You might also spot some stuff under Wolfram Alpha's TOS that raises a few eyebrow's, especially under the "Attribution and Licensing" section.
Its one of the strangest TOS, ive ever read that was made by a big company.

- Hi @Somecomputerscientist! For average editors like you and me, the most direct way to combat such disruption is just to revert their edits, remove inappropriate content, and add back what was removed.
- If you can identify one or a few accounts or IP address that are performing these bad edits right now (if the account's edits date back months or even years, there's no point in acting), you can warn them using some of the templates listed at Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace, and if they continue you can report them at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (if the damage they're causing is fairly egregious, you can also skip the warnings and report them immediately). Wikipedia administrators, experienced editors with permission to block vandals like these from editing, will be notified and will respond appropriately.
- If the situation is more complex, you can start a discussion thread at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents for the issue. One special case is if you think a single person is operating a group of accounts for malicious purposes. For that, you can start a sockpuppet investigation about them (note that due to the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy, sockpuppet investigations generally can't be opened against IP addresses). Both pages contain usage instructions. Feel free to ask me any further questions! Liu1126 (talk) 22:46, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Jerryspringer101 (13:14, 23 April 2025)
Hi I wrote a Wikipedia page and it got deleted. Could you please explain why? --Jerryspringer101 (talk) 13:14, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Jerryspringer101, I don't see any logs on your account that indicate any pages you created have been deleted. What's the title of the page in question?
- If one of your creations was indeed deleted, I would recommend reading the essay Wikipedia:Why was the page I created deleted? or the deletion policy, which may answer common questions you have. You can also ask the administrator who deleted your page for a more thorough explanation on their talk page. Liu1126 (talk) 14:07, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Bernie Ellis (16:55, 23 April 2025)
Good morning. I wanted to add a new comment to the "talk" section with the article on the 2017 Las Vegas massacre but couldn't figure out how to do that. So I added my comment to the bottom of the first comment in the "talk" section. Can you tell me how to add my own comment to the "talk" section. Thank you. --Bernie Ellis (talk) 16:55, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Bernie Ellis, the easiest way to start a new thread is by clicking the "Add topic" link in the top bar. You can find more information about using talk pages at Help:Talk pages; the "Starting a new thread" section also addresses how to create a new thread on a talk page. Question from AndreaDurfey66 (20:07, 28 April 2025)
I would like to submit an artilce via "Articles for Creation" how to I access that? --AndreaDurfey66 (talk) 20:07, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @AndreaDurfey66, you can go to Wikipedia:Articles for creation and click the "Click here to start a new article" button that's about halfway down the page, which will lead you to the Wikipedia:Article wizard. You'll see step by step instructions on how to create a new article there. Liu1126 (talk) 20:28, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Perfect. Thank you. I saw the Article Wizard but wasn't sure if that was the same thing. AndreaDurfey66 (talk) 20:34, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from CheesyCardboard (23:59, 10 April 2025)
How can I find more info on obscure subjects? --CheesyCardboard (talk) 23:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @CheesyCardboard, that would depend on what kind of subject your looking into, so I'm afraid I can't give very specific advice. Search engines are usually a good place to start, and if that fails you can try looking through professional books or magazines on the topic. You can also ask for help at the Wikiproject relevant to the subject; editors there are more likely to be familiar with the topic you're researching and may be able to give more specific suggestions. Liu1126 (talk) 12:58, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, ok! Thank you for your time, I'll look over some old magazines I have.

Question from Zepherite (14:30, 28 April 2025)
Hello there. I'm not sure if this is something mentors do, but can you give me some feedback on my first proper edit to a page? I've worked on the article for the Black-fronted dotterel (the changes I made are logged on my profile) and I'd just like some general notes on what I did right and where I can improve. Thank you in advance. --Zepherite (talk) 14:30, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Zepherite, I've looked over your edits and they look decent in general. Encyclopaedic tone is spot on, reference style is good, and you're "building the web" by effective use of wikilinks. Some things to note:
- Inline citations generally should go after adjacent punctuation (commas, full stops, etc.) per MOS:CITEPUNCT.
- The IUCN Red List entry you cited for the Status section actually had already been cited in the infobox, reference number 1 at time of writing. It is desirable to reduce citation duplication like this by using named references.
- The use of piped links for stuff like wetlands, lakes, etc. generally isn't necessary, since letters directly following links are included as part of the link (and in some cases, the plural form also redirects to the article). See MOS:PIPE for more info.
- Keep up the good work, and feel free to ask me any other questions you may have. Liu1126 (talk) 19:12, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback, I'll keep it in mind for the future. Zepherite (talk) 07:53, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Eunifosa (21:59, 30 April 2025)
hello how do i go about the editting --Eunifosa (talk) 21:59, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Eunifosa, you could start by going through the tutorial at Help:Introduction. After that, you can try out the structured tasks on your newcomer homepage or at Wikipedia:Task Center. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask me. Liu1126 (talk) 08:39, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
Question from SoilEditor (04:32, 1 May 2025)
hi, if I have an edit to make on an established or watched page, what is the nicest and most appropriate way to go about making the edit? --SoilEditor (talk) 04:32, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @SoilEditor. If it's a minor, uncontroversial edit, you can just go ahead and change it. If it's a major, possibly controversial change, you may want to start a thread discussing it on the article's talk page first. You could also follow the BOLD, revert discuss cycle on Wikipedia: boldly make the change, and if others disagree with your edit and revert you, engage them in discussion.
