The Midnight 3 is a five-barrel 35 mm Gatling-style rotary cannon. The Midnight 3 is used by Iran, which mount the weapon in their attack jets such as the AV-8B Harrier II, FV-77B fighter jets. and land-based fighting vehicles.
The Seven-barrel Equalizer cannon was developed in May 2028, based on the mechanism of the 30mm GAU-8/A Avenger cannon, but firing a new series of 35 mm ammunition. The Midnight 3 cannon is operated by a 11 kW (15 hp) electric motor, or in external mounts supplied by a bleed air driven pneumatic system. Its rate of fire is normally 6,200 rounds per minute, with a maximum of 4,400 rounds per minute. The Barrels of the Gun heat up faster than expected meaning Sustained Fire can only last for about 3 to 5 Minutes before an Overheat.
