Hello, Karthikndr! I welcome a lot of new school page authors to Wikipedia, and I would like to thank you for your contribution. Unfortunately, the page you created, at Lokmanya Tilak High School, didn't quite work out according to the school page guidelines, and needs some very rapid attention.
When you've made the fixes, you can take your time for the rest, so you'll want to read up on Your First Article and check out:
If you are stuck, you can ask a question on the school project talk page or you can even ask me on my talk page. I hope you'll stay around and even help out on some other school project tasks. Happy editing ! Kudpung (talk) 13:17, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Hello Karthikndr, I owe you an apology, because I've just blocked you by mistake (I wanted to block the user you were reverting); I've immediately unblocked you, however, noting in your block log that it was a mistake on my part. So, here I am: I'm really sorry. SalvioLet's talk about it!10:27, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
No, that block will not affect your participation to Wikipedia; it will not be seen as anything but an error on my part. Your block log is still clean, although it may technically contain an entry. SalvioLet's talk about it!10:47, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
It means that, if one looks at your block log, one will see that I blocked you and, then, immediately unblocked you; but they'll see that I admitted that the block was my mistake. Apart from that, nobody will be aware of this block, unless they check your log and, above all, your editing will not be limited in any way by it. SalvioLet's talk about it!10:53, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
If you can edit, I'd say you can also undo... The now expired block does not limit your ability to undo edits; if you're having problems with Twinkle, on the other hand, it might just be a bug of the tool (I'm having problems with the Twinkle's revert function too). SalvioLet's talk about it!09:55, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi Karthikndr. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY(TALK) 02:36, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

This pesron user William de Berg continues to commit vandalism on wickepedia and it is compromising its integrity to true factual unbiased information. He is citing references that do not prove the accuracy of his stamentes-- they are misleading and not factual. He is trying to gain an ufair advantage for George Soros by portrying Ms. Mr. Ferreyr in a bad light. Please read the refences to see that they do not prove his claims. Hello, I've been thinking of creating a page for the soundtrack since ages. So Glad U have done it, I agree completely that the whole soundtrack section should be merged into the new page. --Meryam90 (talk) 05:52, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
If you have noticed the economy section, I think you would have noticed a HUGE discrepancy in numbers. The economy value is at $205 billion, but per capita income is $2,850. That would mean that there are about 80 million people in Mumbai LOL. I heard that PwC stated in a report that Mumbai has a per capita income of $10,800 - much more in line with the figures. I'm trying to find it. Could you help me out? I know you are currently busy on the Ra.One article, as I am, but this is too much for me. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy13:28, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Shahrukh Khan unveils the new Nokia Symbian mobile.JPG

Hey. I just went through you previous post in the Ra.One talk page, and I saw the bit you told about audio and video files. While I am out of ideas for videos, I think I may have an idea for audio. Perhaps, under the Soundtrack section, you could put up a clip of any song from the film. Say Criminal (there is too much exposure of Chammak Challo). I have absolutely no idea how to upload an audio file into Wikipedia, but I have seen them often enough. It can be quite a good contribution to an already-mushrooming article. In case you can put it up, can you please tell me how to upload audio and video files? Thanks and cheers. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy08:14, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Harris on the edge
Hey, nice work with Harris: on the edge. http://i.imgur.com/GZzoP.jpg this may help in improving the synopsis of Chennai concert. The dates of Coimbatore concert and Madurai concert are not yet conformed. And the concerts in Africa are promised to happen in 2012 at the second phase of the tour. The dates for the second phase are not yet announced and nothing is conformed about it. So it will be better to remove the dates of the concerts in Africa in the tour dates section. Concert at Hyderabad might also see a date change. Continue your good works. Goosebumps7 (talk) 15:05, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Co-ordinator election
Hey, hope everything is going fine. Regarding the co-ordinator election for which you are standing, may I suggest a small tip? There is a question asked to you by Erik (who is looking to be the lead co-ordinator this time as well). Take my word for it, you will fail if you don't respond. The same thing happened to me when I stood up for Assessing Editor in another WikiProject, and I failed to answer questions regarding photo copyrights. It's always best to reply to everything asked, as that shows your interest and keenness for the post. Otherwise, your good intentions may not be fully understood. Cheers, and All the Best! Hope you get selected. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy15:27, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

As of the moment, I have plans to go to that and to Bangalore, as many of my respondents are located in Bangalore. If that doesn't work for you, I'd be happy to conduct a telephone or Skype interview with you at your convenience.
@Karthik: Oh, thanks a lot. Btw, first day first show for Ra.One?????? LUCK GUY! I could just about manage second day evening show, there's absolute ticket mania here in Chennai. Enjoy the movie, but PLEASE don't tell me anything except whether it's good or bad. I just wanna see it all by myself, and not get any spoilers before release. Cheerio! @Meryam: No, not that one. Anyways, I think editing frenzy over the Ra.One article has subsided considerably. Let's wait till BO numbers are out. As of now, I'm closely following it's Dubai premiere. thanks for adding the golman info. I'm a little confused. taran adarsh said 18.25 but the raone redchillies people said that it was 22+ and that they would send out an official box office report today. can you advise me? is everyone just estimating and no one really knows? should we go with the red chillies people who made the film? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs) 09:08, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, the NDTV source says "mixed" response. The current consensus is to keep "mixed to positive" in the exact order specified on the noticeboard. Scieberking (talk) 15:35, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Yep, I agree. This particular behavior or phenomenon, which I think is due to star rivalries and maybe ethnic hostilities, is very disturbing. You will also find SRK fans disrupting Sallu's or Aamir's, or "Southies" vs. "Northies" and vice versa. I'm not an Indian so I don't know much. It's an industry of mediocrity and hypocrisy and I've kinda given up editing articles related to Indian cinema. Scieberking (talk) 15:48, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
The westerners have their own probelms. There's a certain nigger, redneck, kike, greaseball, merkin, yank, goombah, taco and nazi in the west. What's important is that the quality of the product that contemporary and middle era Indian cinema produced is not good enough. Give me Satyajit Ray and Guru Dutt any day of the week! Scieberking (talk) 16:50, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
I think there was consensus to use box office figures from BOI only (which is 14.63 + 22.80 = 37.43 crore). Anyways, I'm not going to revert any edits. Don't care anymore. Just want that damn neutrality tag removed immediately and I'll be gone. Scieberking (talk) 09:14, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Check this out. I'd written that "For daily, weekendly and weekly box office figures, we'll use BoxOfficeIndia.com" and you said that "From Behindwoods, and IndiaGlitz, we would get info's on Tamil and Telugu release. Other than that, agree with your thoughts". Anyways, Indian media is just so strange. Major outlets, including TOI and HT, even say that Enthiran's budget was 190 crore and it's still the most expensive Indian movie ever made. Scieberking (talk) 09:25, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, and here, even Eros official clarified, after the inflated box office figures by the media, that the actual nett for the opening day was 15.5 crore. What you call that in Hindi... Shah (Rukh) say zyada wafaadaar, LOL. Scieberking (talk) 09:42, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Nonetheless, I wish SRK very well. He has invested more than 150 crore from his own pocket. And he's coming after nearly 1.5 years. Ra.One deserves to break the record of Bodyguard which was made at 60 crore. Besides that, SRk worked really hard for film's promotion and even threw more 52 crores thru brand tieups or whatever. And the no. of screens sets a benchmark! Scieberking (talk) 09:47, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Okay Karthik. Now that the dispute is resolved and I've removed the tag, I'm also stepping down and handing it over to a better editor like you. Please act according to (I know you already do), and make everyone around follow, the consensus, especially the stuff about BoxofficeIndia.com data and "mixed reviews" statement. Thanks and many blessings. Scieberking (talk) 10:17, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, really sad and unfortunate. He was a fine editor and a nice guy. Looks like he won't join again. I'd love to help but, what'll be more effective, you can make a request here. Scieberking (talk) 19:51, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Re: Reassessment
Reassess? The article is already a B-class, which is the highest possible rating that can be given at this stage. The next level will obviously be a GA. --Commander(Ping Me)07:36, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
In most cases, official box office figures aren't very much encouraged, including on Hollywood movies, where usually Box Office Mojo is used. You can either use the Eros PR (which is already being used) or wait for the final worldwide gross amount from BoxOfficeIndia.com (comes after at least 3 weeks). Right now, Koimoi.com and BoxOfficeIndia.com are reporting contradictory figures. Also, the article is in a terrible state at the moment due to poor grammar/ diction, incoherence and unbalanced piles of text in many places. Please make a request at the Guild with the link I'd sent you. Thanks. Scieberking (talk) 12:00, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Offical EROS Press Release
Here is the official EROS press release if you're interested. it's probably better than all of the sources that quote 170 crores.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnDR_t3gd50
If you watch the Interview you find Ra.One's Budget was around 120-130crore, It's fine 50-60 crore spend in marketing , but not from producer's pocket its by endorsement companies , so we can't add this 50-60 crore in budget. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khanaskari (talk • contribs) 10:56, 2 November 2011 (UTC) and if you have any ref for your 150 crore budget give a link, this link isn't correct.
hey, Shahrukh said that the cost of the film was 120-125 crores and the marketing cost to Red Chillies and Eros was 5-10 crores. Total was 135 crores. He said that the speculation of 175 crores and 50 crores on marketing its baseless. he spoke about this on talking cinema with taran adarsh. so it's not the most expensive film, Robot still is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs) 01:16, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, it's now confirmed that SRK says 120 to 125. But I guess thisHindustan Times interview, in which SRK has been quoted as saying "One has to realise it is a special dream film and a mix of all genres together. I did not make a Rs. 150 crore film just like that. It’s an emotional experience", this is more reliable than a youtube video. Furthermore, if you see this section, Kamal Jain also confirmed the 150-175 range. Scieberking (talk) 11:43, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Another CRUCIAL point: SRK says "120 to 125 tak ye film ho jayegi" (it will take approx. 120 to 125 to complete the film)... means this was before the film's completion so this video reference is totally irrelevant now! Scieberking (talk) 11:47, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, it's really good to see him back and, of course, I've already greeted him. He's a reasonably experienced and well-versed editor so I'm not really needed :) Scieberking (talk) 18:48, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Thank you once more Karthik. However, regarding the Ra.One article, I am very sorry that I hav eput all of you into this sort of problem. But I must insist on this move. I cannot afford another attack at my reputation and existence as a proper Wikipedia editor again. It may result in far more disastrous consequences later. It may also turn out that some editor will use me to "warn others" or move the discussion ahead, a situation I can deal with once but not again. I had even thought of insisting a ban on Ravensfire, but I withdrew seeing that he would just beg some Administrator to kick me out of Wikipedia. I truly feel sorry for the plight you, and the others, have been put into. But understand that this was clearly not my doing, so the consequences of wrongly-motivated actions have to be harsh, difficult and painful. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy18:44, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

As I already posted, I have begun my editing to the List. Though I feel awful whenever I see it.... reminds me of the glory of the days when the list was complete, intact and fully informative. And now, nothing more than a piece of garbage (pardon the strong words, but after having extensively edited on the list, it does hurt). Some misguided souls wrecked a really good article to pieces. Reminds me of the Ryanair article fiasco. Anyways, let's get rolling. And btw, I will see about the Ra.One plot part. But I still want Guru to be blocked. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy19:03, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I am not yet in any mood to work out a compromise. Believe me, it's very very difficult to choose. I will have to make a decision soon. However, my wish stands firm - I want Guru to be blocked, if not now, atleast at the moment he comes back to editing Ra.One. I do not care what edits he makes, I want him blocked. Call me emotional and hard-lined, but I'm really badly pissed off and I will not budge on this. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy19:10, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Hello again, Karthik. Would you please take over with List of highest-grossing Bollywood films as well, because I'm sick of dealing with unreasonable editors. All the data is up-to-date with the latest BoxOfficeIndia.com sources and you can find everything on the talk page. I've also added the opening day and opening weekend records of Ra.One (friday to sunday, no extended weekend for both Bodyguard and Ra.One). Thanks in advance. Scieberking (talk) 18:43, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Shahrukh Said that the media figures of Ra.One were wrong and that the cost of the film was 130 crores approx. I sent you the interview. check it out. 150 crores is wrong.

Ref problem on Ra.One
Karthikndr, I saw you were having a problem with the reference in the lede. I think it's okay there, the problem is in the box office section where you name it. If the reference name is all one word, you don't have to put it in quotes. Since your reference name has two words, it needs to be in quotes. You did that in the lede, but not in the box office section. Generally though, the lede doesn't need to be cited as it's supposed to be summarizing information in the main body. The idea is that someone can look in the box office section for the reference if they really want to know. Usually, only controversial aspects in the lede have to be cited though. I think you're fine leaving it out, but now you'll know what's going on with that type of reference error for the future. Ravensfire (talk) 18:19, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi Karthik,
i need your help. i wrote a new page named Max Healthcare and i made several modifications to the page but the page comes under CSD. can u please help me?
Whenever I try to watch any contemporary Indian movie, I just keep pointing out the dips here and there. I personally like Anurag's work but there's just too much influence of the Movie Brat generation which kinda makes it besides the point. Pretty much explains why Pather Panchali and Kaagaz Ke Phool, and not Sholay, are world cinema classics. One interesting fact: Satyajit Ray wrote his 1967 The Alien, a groundbreaking and highly original script from which Steven Spielberg's 1982 E.T heavily borrows. Years later, Rakesh Roshan and company flatly plagiarized and made a crap of a movie called Koi... Mil Gaya. LOL, see the connection? Regards, Scieberking (talk) 14:31, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Without a shadow of a doubt... The most influential guy from Indian cinema... even the greatest Hollywood directors cite him as an influence. Scieberking (talk) 14:39, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Well, I'm highly multi-ethnic and keep moving around... Kuwait City, Kuwait - Liverpool, London, Leeds, UK - Melbourne, Sydney, Australia. I'm a fan of world cinema so I occasionally (well, maybe more than that) contribute to stuff related to Indian cinema. Scieberking (talk) 15:04, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the compliment. As a kid I've visited Delhi, Agra, Hyderabad with my dad. His friend used to live at a place called "Banjara Hills" in Hyderabad. Scieberking (talk) 15:48, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Ra.One box office
Hi Karthik. Regarding box office figures, the consensus (for strict usage of BOI and official press release statements) is being violated by several editors, but please do insert the final (lifetime) worldwide gross from BOI (for instance 358 crore for 3 Idiots; 227 crore for Bodyguard) as soon as it's available. In most cases, it is issued after at least 3 weeks. Regards. Scieberking (talk) 18:45, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Nope. I almost have no say in the matter, although I think 170 crore as worldwide gross was something official, hence more accordant with the consensus reached. Scieberking (talk) 19:05, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Yep. CNN-IBN first issued that 192 crore figure. That same article mentions 375 crore for 3 Idiots and 253 crore for Bodyguard, and both these figures too aren't being used on any article. Regards, Scieberking (talk) 19:21, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Re:Budget
No Karthik. See the Enthiran article Box Office Section. Sun Pictures officially announced the budget of Enthiran as 132 crore, 3 cr less than Ra.One. In case you have heard the very misleading figure of 162 cr, it is a fake and all such budget rumours were put to rest after the official declaration of Sun Pictures. I hope that makes it clear. Thank you. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy12:37, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Oh, that's great! However, I personally think that the article is currently in an unstable form and needs to be balanced and copyedited. Here is what I've written to Ankit. Regards, Scieberking (talk) 10:12, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
Do you have any idea of how to easily find out if a film was screened at International film festivals or had won any prizes. It is very tedious to go to every website and search. I want to find out Tamil films which were screened in the past at film festivals across the globe. --Commander(Ping Me)13:20, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
I don't think Ra.One would have ahd any effect on Rockstar. In fact, Ra.One had to vacate a lot of screen space due to the release of Rockstar. Besides, both films have got a mixed response overall and hence, we have to wait and see. @Karthik: Sure, no problem. And no, I haven't seen it yet. I'm not the biggest Ranbir fan, though I've heard he actyed awesome, and Nargis acted horrible. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy18:27, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

@Karthik: The article is going in the perfectly right direction. A continuous improvement and we may have another excellent film article in hand. @Scieberg: Dude! It may not be SRK's best performance, but it certainly was good enough. Specially since he has never ever done a role even close to that of a superhero. The film is good to watch mainly due to VFX, Chammak Challo (:D) and great acting. Not for story/script. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy13:01, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
@Karthik - Have a nice one, bud. @Ankit - Yeah, special effects are certainly impressive for a bollywood film, and that's the only good thing about it IMHO. If you ask me, Swades was, by far, the best and the most naturalistic performance by SRK. Regards, Scieberking (talk) 14:11, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

@Scieberg: Dude if Swades had been a chick affair I doubt it would be remembered for SRK's acting ;). @Karthik: Separate article for reception of Ra.One??????? OMG, no WP film article can boast of that!!! Are you absolutely sure we need such a thing? And yeah, btw, will surely help out in Rockstar if I hget the time. @Scieberg: Ya dude, you are right regarding the chick issue. Separate article for reception of Ra.One is said juzz because they said that the section should be shortened. However that should not be done right? We have hardly used only sources only with an article in Wikipedia other than "koimoi.com". Thanks for considering helping me out and will also be helping you out. -- Karthik Nadar (talk) 15:01, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
@Ankit- Right, I just said the chick could've been better. Not that they should've made it something like The Dirty Picture, LOL. Scieberking (talk) 15:25, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
@Scieberg: Yeah yeah, I got it. @Karthik: I have absolutely no idea. I don't think there is any specific rule stating that a film article shouldn't have a separate article for itself, so we can't rule it out completely. If you notice Avatar you will see that there are nearly equal number of reviews in Ra.One and Avatar. That's a GA and certainly a very well-known one. So I think we should talk it over with the reviewers and cite this example. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy15:42, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
The source for the budget? I don't think I provided that source at all. And btw, if the source has a promotional poster, why should we care? After all, the article shouldn't sound promotional. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy13:20, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, it's a psychological thriller. Did you notice the elements of The Silence of the Lambs in Murder 2? Completely murdered it... Scieberking (talk) 15:38, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
It's the same 'ole tradition of Bhatts. Take a good foreign movie, add some masala, and rebrand it as their own. Haven't seen The Chaser, but The Silence of the Lambs was such a fine, awesome movie. As a side note, do most joy girls look as good as Sulagna Panigrahi in India? ;-) Scieberking (talk) 15:58, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Yep, cute in a unique way; looks very Indian ;) I saw only a few selected passages from the DVD which I'd borrowed from a friend. Scieberking (talk) 16:19, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Emraan's a decent (indeed, very decent haha) performer compared to the rest at the time; was the most impressive in his debut show Footpath, IMHO. Scieberking (talk) 17:23, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Commercial analysis
Have greatly improved, expanded the commercial analysis section of Ra.One. Your review is needed, as the section is almost complete and only requires the bits about the distributor share, verdict, etc. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy09:14, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
The commercial analysis section is intended to be an exhaustive account of all plusses and minuses regarding the film. It is meant to be a fair, balanced and somewhat judgemental in it's approach. In view of much varied opinions on Ra.One, I purposely decided to keep the commercial analysis section long and well-detailed so that no questions arise later as to the neutrality of the article. Regarding Friends With Benefits, I stand by my decision that it is not ready for a GA. Please read my review carefully, I stated that the length of the article is small due to a lack of coverage, which is perfectly right as Friends With Benefits is a fairly (but not hugely) notable film having a reasonably big star cast (Timberlak, Kunis). I personally have seen a fair amount of information about this film in the already-present references, which has not been put into the article despite the fact that such info can contribute positively to the article. In case you want to award a GA to it, feel free to contact the nominator and ask him/her to re-elect it for GA reveiw. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy11:57, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Dude, what are you doing? Ebe123 resolved the bit about moving the line to the second para. I resolved the matter regarding the refs. I can see your name in both cases. I am not implicating or accusing you of anything, but just saying that it's odd and certainly will create bad gossip. Thanks. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy12:53, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
You did not understand my comment. I said Ebe resolved the bit about moving the line to the second para. He didn't do anything regarding links. And btw, I already put up the resolved notice for the Links section as a whole. Anyways, drop it. It doesn't matter. AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy13:02, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Request regarding missed connection
Hi Karthikndr
I attended all three days of WCI. Yesterday I struck up a conversation with a volunteer (who seemed to be involved in) and planned to exchange contact info with them, but it so happened that later on we were not on the same heritage ride as I had anticipated, and we did not find each other afterwards.
We had not exchanged names, but she had said she is from Thane and I had told her I live in Andheri. I am pretty sure that she went on the first heritage ride that started from the venue at around 9 am. I boarded the last one.
Would it be possible for you to help out here? I met a lot of people I would like to keep in touch with, and exchanged mail ids etc. But this one connection was missed in the fray.
I realise that this may appear to be a suspect request. I could propose an acceptable method to go about it if contacting this volunteer is at all possible. I do not plan to stalk or harass this person.
It would be lovely if this can come through. I would have made a post on the Facebook event page or the Wikipedia in Mumbai page, but it seems only a fraction of the attendees/volunteers 'liked' these pages or marked themselves as attending.
Hey Karthik, can you please check the Velayudham article once or twice a day and remove spam links and unnotable sources such as supergoodmovies and cinema.currentweek.net. I will also try my best to help cleaning up the article (again and again...) Thanks dude! Johannes003 (talk) 18:24, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Velayudham image
Hi. Since Velayudham is widely considered a superhero film (thanks to his Assassin's Creed fighting styles), I thought maybe we can add an image to show how he looks. But if the image wont fit in any section (and if it shouldnt), never mind. I just wanted to popularize his heroic look. Kailash29792 (talk) 18:46, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
The film opens showing a large crowd outside the famous Verona Arena in Northern Italy, with eager fans queuing outside the arena for the concert of rock star Jordan (Ranbir Kapoor). Jordan, who monents ago was being attacked by thugs, manages to escape and reach the arena. He breaks the fan barriers and shows complete disregard for his fans, storms onto the stage in a fit of rage and starts strumming his guitar.
The movie goes goes into flashback to the story of Janardhan Jakhar a.k.a JJ, a simple Haryanvi boy from Pritampura, Delhi, who yearns to some day become a big star. His dreams are, however, only a source of amusement and jokes for his friends. Khatana, the canteen owner (Kumud Mishra) where JJ frequents, tells him that the only way JJ can produce melody is if he undergoes trauma via a heartbreak.
Janardhan jokingly tells himself that since he hasn't seen bad times, he hasn't been able to reach his idol's (Jim Morrison) level of fame, and he needs to do something about it. JJ and his friends go to a performance of Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri), one of the most beautiful girls in Stephen's College, where JJ overhears that Heer is the "perfect heartbreaking machine". Janardhan instantly decides that proposing to her (and being humiliated in the process) is the perfect method to receive the much needed "heart-break" and the key to "fame". That doesn't quite happen though, but in the ensuing process, they both become good friends, hanging out together and doing naughty things together (like drinking desi liquor and watching a sleazy B-grade Hindi movie called "Jungli Jawaani").
The focus then shifts to Heer's wedding in Kashmir, after which Heer and her husband (Moufid Aziz) are set to depart to Prague. During the wedding preparations, Heer develops feelings for JJ, but does not confess to him. Before leaving, she coins the name "Jordan" for JJ. Janardhan returns to his life back home, however, life takes an ugly turn when JJ is clobbered and thrown out of his house by his elder brother for attending Heer’s wedding and for stealing 5 Lakh Rupees. JJ takes refuge for two months in the nearby Nizamuddin Dargah, singing qawwalis, then grows weary and shifts to a local temple where he spends some time singing bhajans. Losing interest from all of this, he requests and takes refuge in Khatana's home.
A classical singer, Ustad Jameel Khan (Shammi Kapoor), remembers having seen and heard JJ singing at the Dargah and prompts Dhingra (Piyush Mishra), the owner of a music company called "Platinum Records", to sign JJ as he foresees a great future for him. Khatana starts managing the new rock star Jordan, a revolutionary solo artist. When Jordan hears that Dhingra intends to send some artists to Prague for a tour and recordings, Jordan instantly volunteers to work there in order to reunite with Heer.
Heer, meanwhile, has been having health issues for some time now and has been regularly visiting a psychatrist for treatment. Jordan and Heer finally meet and after a while of intimacy, Jordan tries to profess his love for her, but Heer, being married, spurns his advances. Despite Heer's warnings to Jordan asking him to stay away from her, Jordan decides to say "bye" one last time before departing for India. While doing so, Jordan trespasses on Heer’s property and is arrested by cops and deported back to India. Jordan, upon being brought to India, is overwhelmed by the media attention and him being painted in a negative light. Frustrated, Jordan clashes with the media and the Indian Police and is sent to jail. Dhingra becomes happy about the publicity he has received because of Jordan, which has helped sales of his records.
During one of his live performances, Jordan meets Mandy (Heer's younger sister) who asks him to help Heer, who has been diagnosed with terminal bone marrow cancer. Jordan disregards all his work-related commitments and immediately leaves to meet Heer. Heer's mother, Neena Kaul (Shernaz Patel), who knows about Jordan's past with Heer, gets angry and asks Jordan to leave her house. To her and their family doctor's surprise, Heer starts quickly recovering due to Jordan, so they fly back from Prague to India. On reaching India, Jordan again clashes with the media as they link him with Heer, portraying her as having an affair with Jordan despite being married. Heer convinces Jordan to first finish his work and then come to meet her, so she and Mandy go back to her Mother's place. However, Heer's condition worsens as she slowly slips into a coma, and Heer is discovered to be pregnant with Jordan's child. Mandy calls Jordan one last time hoping that she will recover, but she doesn't.
The film ends as it started: with Jordan performing "Nadaan Parindey", and he envisions Heer's spirit having flown to him.
When Sheena (Aditi Rao Hydari), a journalist interviewing Jordan as a rockstar, informs Jordan that Dhingra intends to send some artists to Prague for a tour and recordings, Jordan instantly volunteers to work there in order to reunite with Heer.
You have incorrectly spelled Sheena as "Shenna" in the story.
Consider changing the line as => Ustad Jameel Khan (Shammi Kapoor), a renowned classical artist and a Bharat Ratna, remembers having seen and heard JJ singing at the Dargah and prompts Dhingra (Piyush Mishra), the owner of a music company called "Platinum Records", to sign JJ as he foresees a great future for him. (there is no mention in the film that Ustad Jameel Khan is a singer, just a renowned classical artist).
The line involving "Sheena" has not been edited properly. Not to be a Grammar Nazi, but syntactically, it sounds strange. Consider just lifting the line from my last edit and just pasting it. Pinturicchio07 (talk) 06:23, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Kolaveri - Background
“It's not meant to be anti-anything. Director [Aishwarya Dhanush] said the situation demanded a light-hearted fun song about love failure. I came up with a tune in ten minutes. I don't know what kind of mood Dhanush was in… he started singing in broken English and came up with this in 20 minutes. It just happened,” recalls Anirudh.
Obviously not my cup of tea. Kind of raw, maybe energetic, however the instrumentation (and arrangement) is really poor. Thanks for the recommendation anyways. But hey, isn't this chick the daughter of Kamal Haasan...? she's one fine canary :P Scieberking (talk) 19:03, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Great. Rahman is a great composer, but it's not that he doesn't plagiarize... :P As far as I'm concerned, "Ae Ajnabi" is much more interesting and experimental, though. Scieberking (talk) 17:47, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Well, your friend Scieberking over there keeps on attacking me. I didn't put 192 crores as Ra.One's total. What the heck is he on about? The source from box office india he changed it to is only for the worldwide Hindi Version and I AM THE ONE WHO PUT IT THERE. He said that 200 crores for the worldwide gross for ALL VERSIONS! He's the one who isnt being neutral and not doing his research. Why the heck did he even say it to me?

My anger is starting to bubble now; ever so slowly the height of my patience is being tested by a troll like you, whose history is full of unconstructive and lame edits. You kept inflating Ra.One's despite being warned thrice by me and an administrator. You carelessly removed the notice instead of paying any attention. The "from all versions" part was already there, while I just added the BOI figure without noticing it. I won't tolerate any kind of personal attack now. Is that clear? Hey Karthik---Read your personal appeal
Hey Karthik--
I read your personal appeal and let me just say I think what you're doing is very noble and I applaud you and everyone else at Wikipedia for the efforts you make. I can't tell you how many times a day I use Wikipedia to learn new things. You guys are truly embarking on a noble mission. Anyway...I am planning on donating but I was just wondering how creating the encyclopedia works? Do you guys have to personally write every entry that goes into the encyclopedia? I would just like to learn more about what goes in to creating the greatest encyclopedia on the internet. Thanks and god bless.
Please don't take those comments (at the help desk) personally. These people have very limited understanding on how this website works. See this. — Ganeshk (talk)15:19, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes, thank you for telling your story. And since this isn't one of those shown to UK readers, I wouldn't have seen it if it hadn't been posted at the Help desk. -- John of Reading (talk) 17:12, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't think he did. Yes, you better join the list, there are many "Who's Karthik Nadar?" questions going about; who better to clear their doubts than the man himself? ;) Lynch717:48, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
I made a contribution because of YOUR appeal
Simple and down-to-earth appeal, reminding me of how broad and vast the information is on Wikipedia, how often I go there on a daily basis, and how "lean and mean" the whole operation really is. Plus your personal appeal; good looking, honest face, makes me want to join in your effort. So I did! Not a huge amount of money, but it's not the first time I've contributed either. I am very much a fan of Wikipedia and I occasionally perform minor edits as well. And recently discovered my name even mentioned in an article (some small claim to fame, I guess)! Anyway I simply wanted to meet you, and say thank you for the work you are doing here, and if it is possible to chat or communicate from time to time, I'd like that. Cheers!

Dirty Picture Plot
Hello. I request you please discuss the plot of The Dirty picture on its talk page as the current plot is terribly wrong and has many factual and story errors. I just saw movie today morning and so wrote that lengthy plot. I do not want to edit it again and again but I suggest we put up that plot and then let the editors edit it and make it short. But the current storyline is absolutely rubbish in many places.--110.76.160.100 (talk) 13:36, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Not exactly sure. Unfortunately, I just saw the thread on the help desk page :) Also, frisked the Rockstar dvd here and there. Nice effort and I liked the first half. The second half kinda disappoints; asymmetrical and confusing. Scieberking (talk) 12:52, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Not the full movie and only bits & pieces (a fav of my gf too), but from what I saw, it seemed like a smart and energetic movie. Shahid tried too hard to put on a great performance, and he did. Kareena is not one of the most impressive actresses, though. The movie had an innovative direction input for sure. Scieberking (talk) 13:16, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Well, yeah, that's what I was thinking. Btw, I'm hearing some excellent news suggesting the possibility of a Ra.Two. And that to with no Kareena Kapoor as our Chammak Challo. Hmmmmmm. Gonna keep watching this tidbit. AnkitBhattWDF13:41, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't think you can say that Ra.One didn't do well. Agreed, all the claims of 250 cr was absolute rubbish, but getting 100 cr + (that too a first for SRK) is no small feat. Plus, it has found quite a lot of appreciation among the younger generation who have all become SRK fans after this movie. I doubt that critics matter; if it did, Bodyguard must have been the biggest disaster LOL. I personally hope a sequel for Ra.One, and I know it'll be bigger and more dazzling than it. Frankly, if a Salman Khan film, with no script and originality, can do 100s of crores, why not a Ra.Two. Anyways, the focus is now on a different sequel, Don 2. Totally excited about it, its looking fantastic. Cheers! AnkitBhattWDF13:59, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Mannat is 5 min away?????????????????????????? You luck guy! I'd drop all my studies just to get a glimpse of Mannat. Regarding character, PLEASE, what the hell are you tlaking about? Salman Khan has no character. He's a drunkard who runs over street people and shoots blackbuck simply for fun. In addition, he has extensive underworld connection, though I'm not saying that SRK and Aamir don't have them. Believe me, only blind sallu fans will call salman pure of heart. Btw, I didn't know St. Andrew's was bang in the middle of so much Bollywood? Luck dude! Bandra doesn't always mean Bollywood, you know. You may end up seeing some old, ugly, filthy rich and filthy famous businessmen there as well. Have you seen Ktrina/Kareena/Priyanka? Or perhaps Anushka Sharma? And btw, do you like the Kolaveri song? AnkitBhattWDF14:43, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Nah, I'm just 15. Its not everyday that you find teenagers editing wp with an account. Unfortunate that I'm getting "addicted" to something at this age. Right now, I should be studying, cuz I have an exam tmr. :D X.OneSOS10:13, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, all fine but I wish to restore it back because we would be violating WP:CHERRY, if we keep only the positive and mixed reviews from this site. If any other notable review has been removed, kindly let me know. Thanks. X.OneSOS10:00, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Someone had to do it. After the failure of the film, there are very few editors willing to improve it to FA status. It isn't far off, believe me. A few minor glitches need to be levelled and voila! Hope you remain active to revert vandals as I might not be logging in regularly for another 5 days. X.OneSOS10:36, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Uh, ya. That sounds like an obvious obstruction to newly released articles. But who knows, the article may come down in quality over the next few months if action is not taken. Even TZP and LRMB have a few flaws in their articles. In TZP, during the FA review, the reviewer wasn't aware that the article had violated the guideline and passed it without any comment. Both their BO sections need to be expanded, they do not satisfy the FA criterion "it neglects no major facts or details and places the subject in context." What to do? Nothing can be perfect. Only time will tell. X.OneSOS11:28, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
I remember those reviews, I think whoever removed them sited that there were too many Rediff reviews on the article...Don't worry about Vandalism control, I may not be editing the article but I am keeping an eye on it...and regarding the FA nomination, there was a consensus that we will wait till after the accolades section is added, and that may be till May/June.--Meryam90 (talk) 13:58, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Hey man, nice to have u around at the Don 2 article :D Btw, don 2 needs semi-protection Asap...too many vandals and I have exams coming up, so I can't keep an eye on it, esp that the release date is really close, so there is more risk of vandalism now. Thanks. Have a nice day :D
Oh btw, Tell Ankit I said Hi too, and ask him to come back, I miss him around here :D --Meryam90 (talk) 12:19, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
The present poster is of really bad quality and is in 2D, which is not the main version the film is being released in. Do you think either of thesetwo would serve as a good replacement? The latter has a 3D poster. X.OneSOS07:59, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
My exams went smoothly, expecting flying colors, thanks for your wishes. Regarding the poster, shall I upload it and wait for a decision? It would make a difference, no doubt but we can also compare it directly when put up here. And, one more thing, a lot of content was unsourced in Ra.One. I don't know if some vandal had removed it after the GA review or if the reviewer failed to notice it, but apparently a lot of dead links also exist in the article, and I'm not sure if it satisfies the GA criterion now. Quick measures are needed, I'm afraid. I managed to replace some of the links, but others, well I couldn't find any decent sources for them. Would be glad if you could lend a hand. X.OneSOS08:24, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
Hey, this guy named Secret of Success keeps on adding ridiculous things to the Ra.One page. Do you think it is necessary to say that the taran adarsh review was critizied for overrating the film? even the deccan chronicle, filmfare, etc. gave Ra.One a 4 out of 5. I think the GA article status is slipping away due to odd edits like this. -- Asher Madan. What's your opinion because I feel it doesn't need to be in there as it sounds completely out of place and stupid. Give me an example of any other article on the entirely of wikipedia that says a critic OVERRATED a film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs) 15:38, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
Assuming good faith, Ashermadan, I think you will find it useful to note that Wikipedia is verifiability, not the truth. We have sources to say that Taran has been criticized, but for your claims i.e Filmfare, DC, etc, it seems like you never bothered to look out for one. Btw, being pessimistic and giving up after the first rays of the dark have struck is not how you progress here. Look at my talk page posts, in my early days here. Some extremely kind users have posted vandalism block threats when I changed stuff as per the source. That, though is clearly not the exact case here, would, with the slightest hope make you bold. Wikipedia is a collaborative project and not a battleground. X.OneSOS08:41, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Hey hi Asher and Secret of success (will be good if I got to know your name), I agree with Secret of success. Wikipedia is a collobarative project. And Asher, if you had forgotten, I had asked you to discuss Ra.One edits with me and then edit. -- KarthikNadar11:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Exactly. Being short-tempered and squalling at editors just because they revert your edit isn't useful to you or to me. It is just a waste of time and energy. X.OneSOS16:21, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
...sorry for the bitey PROD description. I think the PROD was appropriate but there was no need for me to word it like that. Hope you manage to get the copyvio sorted. Regards Basaliskinspect damage⁄berate08:07, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Pardon me for bothering you again, Karthik. This editor has screwed the list with this edit, inserting "Worldwide gross" instead of "Nett Gross", thus providing wrong information. Why don't you take charge, do regular updates and lead the vandals out of there? I think it's a very important and fun article! Regards, Scieberking (talk) 21:07, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
Hi Karthikndr, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! —Tom Morris (talk) 14:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Just one observation: on a few of the pages I checked, they hadn't been put in any WikiProjects. On new pages you create in the future, it might be an idea to try and think what WikiProjects they might appropriately fit into and then add templates for those WikiProjects on the talk pages. For instance, a lot of your articles are related to India, so just pop a WikiProject India template on the talk page. —Tom Morris (talk) 14:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Don 2 Review
Don't 75% of reviews being positive quality as generally positive reviews? Why are we quoting the Hindustan Times when all the reviews arent even out yet on their site? We counted the reviews ourselves for Ra.One and said they were mixed because it had a 57% positive reviews. Yes? How do we do this? -- Asher Madan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs) 08:24, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Oops, I messed up. 8 reviews are positive and 2 are negative from Reddif.com only. Umm, that's 80% so isn't that supposed to be "generally positive" in terms of Wikipedia lingo? -- Asher Madan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs) 09:33, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Don 2
Who removed the 3d poster of the film? I wanted to put it up in the main infobox, and write a line about 3d conversion, as a caption. Look at Taare Zameen Par, (FA) a similar structure has been followed. Please restore it. Too many edit conflicts are rising in the page and I am not able to edit it properly. X.OneSOS09:57, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your efforts, but why don't we replace it in the infobox and add a caption to it with a source? The 2d poster can be mentioned in the "Development" captioning "2d poster of the film". X.OneSOS10:17, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't think it will for many users have stopped caring about SRK articles. Even if it does, there are no valid arguments or policies to say that 3D images cannot exist in the infobox. And PS. dude if you reply to comments on the commenter's talk page, please remove the Talk page notice from the top of your talk page because users will be expecting you to reply wherever the conversation started. X.OneSOS10:31, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
The Indian express gave Don 2 a positive review but it didnt give a rating. THe indian express review appears in the Ra.One article but in the Don2 one? Why is that? Do you know who took it out? Should I include it? --Asher Madan 15:02, 23 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs)
The famous Omar Qureshi review was added. It's a video review from youtube. can you properly reference it? I dont really know how to properly reference videos. I added the link though. --Asher Madan 15:24, 23 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs)
Removing Some Reviews
Ok, I have a question. Assem Chabbra (the reddif guy) and Mayank something from the Hindustan Times were giving spoilers on Twitter about Don 2. isn't this unprofessional behavior? Is there any way to take their reviews out? This behavior is completely unacceptable and their opinions dont deserve to be showcased here. --Asher Madan 15:39, 23 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashermadan (talk • contribs)
Good God! You've been featured on The Economic Fucking Times. You're a celebrity, dude! ;) May I ask for an autograph or something?... :P Happy holidays. Regards, Scieberking (talk) 20:30, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
DUDE! You got featured on the Economic Times!!! Special mention too!! Oh, you seriously rock man! A million people would have read that article by now, including Salman, Shahrukh, Aamir and a whole bunch of celebrities! For that, you deserve this :
Thank you for your comment. I left a comment on that user talk page but no reply yet. If you happen to compare the differences between his edit and the original ones, you will be amused to see the very minor corrections he has done as per his likes/unlikes. How do we deal with such fussy editors? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Msrag (talk • contribs) 10:02, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Karthikndr. Please check your email; you've got mail! It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template.
Dude, the site cinema.currentweek is being judged as unreliable by a few editors, who think that the site gives "dubicious figures". As far as I know, the gross given for Velayudham and 7aum Arivu were 89 and 98 crore after 2 months (8 weeks) of running. When both the films released in around 1000 prints each, is that really dubicious? When Enthiran released in 2500 prints and made more than 250 crore after a month, this one cannot be dubicious. I had stated further reasons here to say that the site is authentic enough as long as no other source contradicts it. Please post your views on my talk after you have come to a conclusion. Thanks!
