Hello, I wish to bring to your attention an edit you had made on the BPL Group page, about three months back in Dec 2013.
While the converted US$ values are displayed alongside the INR my issue is with the display of 2014 term values in brackets in the "Performance" section. More precisely with the fact that the INR value while correctly multiplied by the current exchange rate is shown to be exactly ten times more than it is.
One crore (seven zeroes) is ten million (six zeroes). E.g here in the first line of the paragraph US$ 12 million should be Rs 73.2 crores and not Rs 732 crores as is being shown. Every single instance where these 2014 terms come in this issue arises of the value being shown as 10 times more. Kindly rectify this or post back on my talk page on how to correct this and I shall do accordingly. Regards. 117.194.229.67 (talk) 14:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
That was a different issue. The conversion error for crore has now been fixed. The template code was dividing the number given by a million instead of a crore, which was why the converted values were ten times what they should have been. --Joshua Issac (talk) 19:28, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

The name 'Travancore' is an anglicisation of the Malayalam word തിരുവിതാംകൂർ, pronounced tiruvitāṁkūr (as given in the Wikipedia article). 'Travancore' is used more frequently in older articles, but the newer spelling Thiruvithamkoor (or -core ) is closer to the original pronounciation. As this page is of little interest outside Kerala, it would probably be better to use the name used in Kerala, and to provide suitable redirects, with explanation, wherever needed. Please see the section “Spelling and grammar” at 'Travancore:Talk'. Jose Mathew C (talk) 07:50, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

The vast majority of Muslims do not regard Ahmadiyya as a sect of the religion. Even amongst sunni and shia there is consensus that the sunnis and shias are muslims. There is no such established scholarly consensus, ijma, with regards to Ahmadis.
Ahmadiyya believe that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was not the last prophet - henceforth by rejecting the most fundamental Islamic doctrine after tawhid,
they are considered by the overwhelming majority to be a different religion all together - not an Islamic sect.
Unless you have overwhelming scholarly evidence that Ahmadiyya is a actually a sect across the Islamic thought spectrum then unfortunately it cannot be edited back into the template.
Anyway, appreciate your work on wikipedia.

i saw you reverted then unreverted, just wondering, is what i did wrong? i see others do it all the time for indef blocked users so I was just following suit.--Львівське (говорити) 14:23, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Generally, comments from sockpuppets are struck out after they are blocked; this, I observed in the AfD archives. I reverted the strikeout because I did not find any convention towards striking out comments made by indefinitely blocked editors (posted before they were blocked), in general, but I recognised afterwards that it would be easier for the closing editor to discern the blocked editor's comments if the tags that you added next to them were present; so I partially self-reverted to restore these tags. I should have explained my rationale to you immediately after I made the changes, and I apologise for not having done so until you asked. --Joshua Issac (talk) 14:50, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Myself Yashpal Sengar from Dehradun,India. I am a new user. If you can tell me how to consider whether the material or article which we are referencing from the published book is a good source or poor source of information.
Hello Yashpal Sengar, welcome to Wikipedia. I suggest reading Wikipedia's guideline for identifying reliably sources (WP:RS). It details how one may determine whether a source (like a book) is reliable by Wikipedia's standards, based on who wrote it (someone knowledgable in the field or someone who is not), the publisher (a publisher with high standards or one without), use by other entities (the book is used by scholars or the book is only used by politicians), et cetera. The guideline WP:RS has more details on this. There is also a reliable sources noticeboard, where other Wikipedians will help you find out whether a particular source is reliable or not. If you still have any doubts or questions, feel free to ask. --Joshua Issac (talk) 15:23, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Pierre-Jules Boulanger.png
Thank you for uploading File:Pierre-Jules Boulanger.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
The photograph should be deleted. It is not in the public domain as I had thought it was when I uploaded it six years ago. --Joshua Issac (talk) 02:23, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Regarding this edit: Just thought I'd explain what it was apparently doing there. Wikipedia has murky policies about linking to Tor hidden service addresses (.onion URLs) because they're not registered, are prone to being hijacked, there's a lack of reliable sources, etc. It looks like the screenshot image contains the .onion url, and the caption you removed indicates the existence of the "censored" address there. Should've been caught and removed a long time ago, along with the image, but since Tor Mail is gone now there doesn't seem to be any harm in keeping the screenshot. Anyway, good catch. --— Rhododendritestalk \\ 19:51, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Polyadic space
Hello. I've just done a few copy-edits on the new article titled Polyadic space. In particular, I set the title phrase, polyadic space, in bold type at its first appearance, as is normally done in Wikipedia articles.
A tag has been placed on File:Adwaita.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ADDING INFO TO THE PAGE _ ROOP DURGAPAL
Can u please add two new references to ROOP DURGAPAL page
Thanks for making the page look better. But please add "akbar birbal" to her television career section as it was a special guest appearance in a comedy show & is a landmark in her television career. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roopfan (talk • contribs) 06:42, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi please edit the page roop durgapal well. One user called chander has been removing info added by u & adding false info. The link clearly says she entered akbar birbal in march 2015 as a special guest appearance but he has edited it back to 2014 & removed her special guest appearance role along with her place of birth which is Almora in Uttarakhand — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roopfan (talk • contribs) 09:19, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Uttarakhand did not exist as a state when the subject was born; it was created in 2000. Chander's addition of the 2014 date was most likely a mistake. I will discuss the issue further on the talk page of the article. --Joshua Issac (talk) 16:40, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Your vandalization in the wiki page on Kasaragod are not acceptable by Wikipedia standards.
Kannada is one among the prinicipal languages of Kasaragod. Malayalam was elevated as one of the official language only in 1956. Kannada has a history of nearly 800 years in Kasaragod. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kpbolumbu (talk • contribs) 20:17, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
I have not edited that page for nearly a year, and I have never vandalised that page, or any other page. Please assume good faith when dealing with other editors (see the linked guideline).
Now, on to the matter of the content: Kasaragod does not have an official language. Its administrative language is Malayalam. If you want to add the name of the city in Kannada, then find and add reliable sources to the article to show that Kannada is one of the major language used in the city. --Joshua Issac (talk) 21:18, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Why did you have to remove the links which mentioned the administrative languages and add another link which you claim to be original?Kpbolumbu (talk) 16:44, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Here is a copy of my mail to the department of Kerala on the misrepresentation if facts.
"Dear sir,
As per reliable sources Kannada is also an administrative language in Kasaragod district. Please do the needful to add the details of Kannada as second administrative language in Kasaragod.
I am a resident of neerchal in Kasaragod and am aware of linguistic scenario of the district and hence this post. Please revert for clarifications.
I did not remove any links. I only removed the claim you added that Kannada is an administrative language of Kasaragod, because it is not a claim supported by any reliable sources. I added a link to the web page I mentioned above because the claim about Malayalam being an administrative language was not sourced, either, so I needed to add the link as proof that the claim is true.
If the Department of Tourism amends their website and adds information to say that Kannada is an official language of Kasaragod, then it may be added to the article. But this can only be done after such information has appeared on the linked web page, or another source that meets Wikipedia's reliable sources guideline. --Joshua Issac (talk) 19:57, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Your fundamental viewpoints are quite self explanatory. There was a reliable link which stated that Kannada is the second administrative language. This website has edited the information given in that original source. You also deleted that source. I am the one who added the link (which you have replaced with present unaccetable lnk) which mentioned about Kannada being second administrative language. Even if they don't edit their page I am going to stand up for my language. I live in a democratic nation state.
Facts:
1. Almost all Kannada newspapers have separatly edited pages for Kasaragod.
2. Kannada has existed here since Tenth century CE.
3. Kasara is the name of a tree in Kannada. In the town also there are pure Kannada names like Anebagilu and Koodalu.
4. There are good private and government schools which have Kannada As the main language.
5. Kasaragod has a rich history of Yakshagana which represents the cultural identity of Kannada and its heritage.
"The official principle languages of Kasaragod District are Malayalam and KANNADA. All orders, circulars, forms, notice boards (including the name boards) should be Bilingual and should be and are available in Kannada and Malayalam.
This system is prevalent from the day Kasaragod was born. Of course I am not the person who is sitting with soft copies of all orders but I am a common man with common sense and general knowledge. Still I am providing you a latest link from the election commission of India.
Please refer the page Number 379 of that handbook in which it clearly states that the approved languages for Kasaragod District are Malayalam and Kannada.
I hope this answers your baseless challenge and proves that Malayalam and Kannada are indeed Principle Languages of Kasaragod " This might help you, this is already there in talk page of Kasaragod town wiki page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kpbolumbu (talk • contribs) 04:23, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

There were no sources in the article supporting the claim of Kannada being a second administrative language. I did not delete any sources. The link I presented meets Wikipedia reliable sources criteria, so it is not unacceptable.
Even if they don't edit their page I am going to stand up for my language. I live in a democratic nation state.
Wikipedia is not a democracy. Living in a democratic nation state gives you rights in that state, but those rights do not extend to editing Wikipedia, which is a privately-owned website. All edits to Wikipedia must conform to its policies and guidelines.
The new sources you have provided here do not say that Kannada is an administrative language, but they do prove that it is a significant minority language in Kasaragod, spoken by over one-third of its inhabitants. The correct action per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section#Foreign language and Wikipedia:WikiProject India#Indic scripts in lead is to add a Name section to the article and mention the Kannada name there. I also suggest starting a new section at Talk:Kasaragod to suggest adding the name in the Kannada script to the infobox, and presenting the sources there to support the suggestion. --Joshua Issac (talk) 17:39, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
"Missing BC"
Just to note that WP:ERA covers this, we don't change the established nomenclature without a discussion as to why the particular articles should be one or the other. And we actually don't need all the BCE's in that article unless the context makes it necessary. Dougweller (talk) 06:44, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for notifying me of this issue. I did not actually change the nomenclature, since the section just before the one I edited used AD, which is what I had used as a guide to choose between BC and BCE in my edit. It was not clear from the context whether the referred Kingdom of Judah and United Monarchy were AD or BC kingdoms, hence my addition of the "missing BC". Also, the AD/BC system has been the established nomenclature since 2001, from the first revision of the article, until it was changed earlier today. --Joshua Issac (talk) 16:31, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:V8 JavaScript engine logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
