Dampits

[edit]

Dampits for the cello or any stringed inmstrument are NOT original and are a BAD thing to have. WHY because if they are used incorrectly, they ruin the instrument. Ever see a 80 grand cello with a damp it? NO. Ever see any pro use a damp it in any notable orchestra? NO. Wanna know why? BECAUSE they do not work. I removed the edit unless you can showe me where, its a standard piece of equipment for any cello or struinged instrument.......AND I have played for 25 plus years, so I do indeed have experience with this objects, that I was told to never ever useCoal town guy (talk) 15:56, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the correction! I have played cello for less time than you have (10 years this year), and just wanted people to know more about it. Then I have a question, what is the alternative for dampit during dry seasons? I really want to know what you do. Let me know! Isabelle.Kocher

Anytime Isabelle, and I apologize if my message appeared churlish. To the best of my knowledge, most folks I knew who actually had a great instrument had a place built in their house with controlled conditions, for those who could not afford that, a place that has a steady temp and even humidity should be OK. It is rapid changes in temp and dry, hot environments that can play havok on the instruments.Coal town guy (talk) 13:39, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, you just sounded passionate about the instrument and everything about it. And thanks for the advice, that is great to know!
Yes, I actually enjoy the cello, I have done some revisions on the cello page, AND hopefully found some sources on its usage and history, that will of course update the page. The Cello Tecnique page also needs help. I found a very cool web site by an advanced cellist on Harmonics, and all of the nodes where they are found. Best part, is the man has video and sound demos. Rather cool. Additionally, I double checked the dates in the Strad designs, they were initially not correct, so far, the article is getting better I hope, BUT I also have a few other hobbies which take up my time on WikiCoal town guy (talk) 13:55, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ozonia may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • hydrogen peroxide]] – to create in-situ highly reacitve [[Hydroxyl radicals|hydroxyl radicals (.OH]] for elimination of organic pollutants.<ref>http://www.ozonia.com/aop.php</ref>

Thank you for the reminder. I have just seen it now and edited also. Thanks! --User:Isabelle.Kocher

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ozonia, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages CSO and SSO (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
