ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Haunted Spy. Thank you for your work on Nikolai Ageev. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

There seems to have been sufficient media attention (at least in Russian) to support notability; well-written and appropriately referenced (accepting that sources in English might be sparse).

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Help me out with this draft article

[edit]

Hello, @Haunted Spy. Its me, Nelson. I am currently working on this article in draftspace: Demetrius Terrence Frazier. I might need your help to find archived news sources from newspapers.com, plus to expand details on the murder of Pauline Brown, plus the murder case he committed in Michigan. Frazier had not only killed Pauline Brown in Alabama (no problem with the details), but he also raped and murdered a young girl in Michigan in 1991 or 1992, which is the furthest I can find based on a single news source. Recent sources did not shed more light on that particular crime and its details, and I cannot access to a link to a Michigan court document about the crime. Hope you can assist me on this, thank you and happy editing for 2025. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 12:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@NelsonLee20042020: Hi Nelson, I was able to find some additional information about the Michigan murder, but not too much was available about the trial itself. I've already made the clippings, and you can find them in my latest clippings. Hope this helps! Haunted Spy (talk) 12:51, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, @Haunted Spy. I seen through the articles, glad to finally get some of the info I need. Thank you so much, and happy editing NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 12:56, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:ValdekLaasMap.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ValdekLaasMap.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 23:14, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

About Gerald Pizzuto

[edit]

@Haunted Spy, hello, it's me, Nelson. I would like to seek your assistance regarding the draft article Draft:Gerald Pizzuto. Could you help me find more news sources about the murders that Pizzuto had committed? I tried finding what are the sentences Pizzuto gotten for the killings of John Jones and Rita Drury in Washington, but I cannot find any source. I can find more on my side but for the newspapers.com and other archives not accessible by the public, I might need your help. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 05:19, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

by the way, happy editing to you. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 05:21, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NelsonLee20042020: Hello Nelson. Sadly, my subscription has expired and I haven't saved anything to indicate that Pizzuto was even tried for the Washington crimes, so I'm unsure what to do here. I'm currently busy with work and I'm unable to spare too much time looking through clippings, but I hope that the ones I've saved beforehand can be of use. You can find them here. Good luck with the article! Haunted Spy (talk) 10:40, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for trying to help, @Haunted Spy. Happy lunar new year to you too (on my side it's Chinese New Year). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 00:50, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
can understand you are busy too, because I kinda also am having things full on my plate at the moment (partly because of the festive season too). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 00:55, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

About Jaques Plumain

[edit]

@Haunted Spy Hey there, I saw that you wrote wrong information in the article about Jaques Plumain. He is not released and non of the sources which are listed are saying so. Please do not use sources or edit articles if you don't understand the language of the sources and lack of knowlege or rescources about the case.

The things you are wirting about are really sensitive. The last present I recived from one of his victims is only a meter away from me while I'm typing this, even if it has been more than 20 years. To read that he was walking free was ruining my day, even if I knew it wasn't true, because I was not a 100% sure at first.

That feeling was caused by your sloppy work. Don't edit articles in this field and espacially not information like that, if you're not certain about what you're writing.

Sorry for beeing that unpolite, but this really pissed me of... 2001:9E8:D2B:8800:9DA5:17C6:CF9B:F8F1 (talk) 00:47, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Henry Eugene Hodges

[edit]

@Haunted Spy. Hello, it's me, Nelson.

I am now writing the case of serial killer Henry Eugene Hodges in draftspace. I am not sure if you have renewed your newspapers.com subscription but I might need some of your help in editing the article, like including info that I could not gain access to. In my sourcing of the previous few works, I barely able to get the headlines (though they are blurry and had to rely on my interpretation and memory) from newspapers.com but not the content. Hope to receive your reply soon. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 01:15, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I also am finding the ones not locked by the subscription wall, as much as I can, to back up the ones I uncovered about Hodges. His case is kinda complex considering I did not write a lot about serial killers or mass killers. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 01:23, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@NelsonLee20042020: Hi Nelson! I've yet to renew my subscription, but I've made multiple clippings on the Hodges case before it expired. You can see them here – hope this is useful. If necessary, I can renew it again if this isn't enough. Haunted Spy (talk) 04:06, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thanks. @Haunted Spy. It's a great help too. Happy editing, my Wiki friend. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 04:11, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Trawick and Daniel Blank

[edit]

@Haunted Spy. Its me, Nelson. I got a draft article about Jack Trawick. Your clippings of the serial killer's case are helpful in this case, thanks. You are welcome to edit it too. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 05:38, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

if you are interested, there is a serial killer called Daniel Blank, and his article is in draftspace too. You are welcome to edit it too (I just by luck found clippings about Blank online). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 05:42, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NelsonLee20042020: Hello! Glad some of my clippings are of use, at least in the Trawick case. There was one in particular that gave a lot of details about his life that were not present in all sources on the Internet prior to the clipping (for example, him being of apparent Egyptian descent), so I think it would be useful to get that one eventually. Anyways, I'm able to make small edits to the article and the Blank one here and there, but I'm currently focused on translating articles on Russian and Italian serial killers, since there's been an influx of cases on their respective Wikipedias recently. I'm still willing to help out if needed. Haunted Spy (talk) 05:53, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy: Thanks for the reply and what you added so far. Wish you all the best for whatever you are currently doing. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 07:57, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help with articles

[edit]

Hey there sorry for bother do you mind helping me with some articles? DarkHorseMayhem (talk) 17:57, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DarkHorseMayhem: Depends on the article, as I mainly focus on serial killers, but I'm also currently focused on traslating various ones from different wikis. I can help, but I can't guarantee by how much. Haunted Spy (talk) 18:31, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? DarkHorseMayhem (talk) 23:30, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DarkHorseMayhem: Life's in the way, sorry. Haunted Spy (talk) 03:38, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay sorry for bothering you, all the best. DarkHorseMayhem (talk) 03:40, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy. The message is late, sorry, but I completed the Jack Trawick article already. Hope you have a look too and feel free to look through. Sorry it took so long but somehow lost interest for some reason halfway and focus on other cases before I finally finished it after my interest renewed for Trawick. Murder of David Knapps

[edit]

@Haunted Spy, hi. It's Nelson. I am doing draft:Murder of David Knapps, which is about the case of the Angola 5, where a group of inmates killed a prison guard while trying to escape the Louisiana State Penitentiary. I tried finding sources about the crimes committed by the members of Angola 5 before they killed Knapps, but barely found a couple of them about maybe one or two of the members.

In some of my recent cases I got the luck of finding existing archives and clippings from newspapers.com, but this time it comes out blank. The trial and appeal process is not much of a problem for now but the other part about how they ended up in the prison, I think I need more details of their cases and background before the murder. If you are able to help out, it would be great. Thank you.

PS: I will continue try my best finding too. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 02:46, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@NelsonLee20042020: Hey man, sad to say that I'm unable to help out ATM, since I'm busy with real-life stuff. Wish you luck with finding sources for the article. Haunted Spy (talk) 03:32, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy. No problem. I understand you are busy in real life. Got stuff going on too on my side and also tried making time. Wish ourselves luck in pulling through. too. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 03:34, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Haunted Spy, good morning. It's Nelson. I completed the article on serial killer Jeffrey Daugherty last night. Hope you could have a look at it, see if there is any adjustments needed.

I gonna proceed on the case of Andrew Six, who raped and killed a young girl in Missouri after kidnapping her in Iowa, and also posthumously identified as the triple killer in another case. Clarification wise, can he be considered a serial killer or at least a suspected one considering he murdered four people in total but was convicted of only one of them. If you have any clippings about the case, please let me know. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 01:53, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I enjoyed reading your latest article Alexander Kiselev (serial killer). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 01:55, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NelsonLee20042020: Hello Nelson. To answer your question, yes, Six can be considered a serial killer since he has been linked to the case via DNA, similar to the cases of James Otto Earhart. Also, yes, I have "Andrew+Six" clippings for this case. Haunted Spy (talk) 03:32, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy:, thank you. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 05:37, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Labar Tsethlikai

[edit]

@Haunted Spy. It's me, Nelson. I came across this suspected serial killer Labar Tsethlikai in the papers. Considering he was charged in multiple deaths and he was the first person facing the federal death penalty since 2018 in New Mexico, and the circumstances of his crime, I believe it was worth considering to put his case in Wikipedia even though he has not been convicted yet.[1][2][3]

Still, I have my concerns with the lack of conviction at this point, (I normally prefer to write those that led to a conviction) and so I would like to seek your opinion on this. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 09:54, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@NelsonLee20042020: Hey Nelson – it's best to wait until there's an official conviction, as that's a guarantee for additional vital details to be released about the case, including the victim's names. So, wait on it until the trial concludes. Haunted Spy (talk) 11:37, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy, sure, I understand your point. It's quite tempting because I see that some aspects of his crime are kinda unique and could potentially reach the level of notability due to his alleged motive and nature of these murders. You are right that it is safer to just leave it until the trial concludes with a conviction.
Thanks for the reply by the way (I asked Inexpiable but he had not replied, so probably he is still busy). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 11:57, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NelsonLee20042020: No worries. I've made this mistake in the past a couple of times before, so it's best to just be patient and wait it out. Haunted Spy (talk) 11:59, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to note that articles have previously been created about suspected criminals prior to a conviction or guilty plea. For example, Michael Gargiulo (article created in 2011, conviction in 2019) and Darren Deon Vann (article created in 2014, guilty plea in 2018). Heart of Destruction (talk) 12:52, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Heart of Destruction, just to clarify. I actually had a couple of articles being moved into draftspace or merged because the main reasons were that it was too early to create (no conviction of course), so I wanna know the kind of criteria to allow these to stay (I did have concerns about the Tsethlikai case given that it looks notable but the lack of conviction and my past experiences in the abovementioned situations hindered my decision). NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 13:11, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy, what about Stacy Lee Drake? Can he be considered a serial killer? Planning to put his case on Wikipedia once the trial was concluded with a guilty verdict too. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 09:14, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't looked into this particular case too much, but I'd say he straddles the line between serial and spree killer. Whichever category you'd prefer to put him into, I agree with him being a notable case to add here. Haunted Spy (talk) 09:59, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Haunted Spy, no problem. Congrats for the creation of Yuriy Kuzmenko. NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 13:17, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
