Change dropdown order in RMTR helper
Hey @Eejit43, I'm back! Is it possible for you to change the default/first option in the dropdown of Switch Section to be Contested technical requests rather than Requests to revert undiscussed moves? This is beacause most of the RMTR patrollers move requests to contested, rather than to revert. Thanks again for your swift responses and changes to my large list of feature requests! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 13:42, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Bunnypranav done! Sorry I didn't get to that until now! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 02:30, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- No worries! Thanks again! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 03:36, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Similar request, can you add a State contested kinda option in the dropdown. It can be more useful and descriptive for removing stale contested TRs compared to just Not done, thanks in advance! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 14:40, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "State contested". Are you looking for just a "Stale" option in the dropdown? ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:34, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yup, basically an option to clearly state that I am removing an entry which was contested, and now it is stale (no replies arguing for the move/no RM has been started). (P.S. if you feel I'm annoying you, just ignore my messages.) ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 04:23, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- Understood! I added a "Stale" option as I think the simple language is better. Additionally, you are not annoying me whatsoever, I appreciate your assistance in helping to make the scripts better! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 04:31, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Declination of proposed Category:Fantasy novels adapted into films
Thank you for looking at this proposal. I am disappointed not just for being turned down, yet much more for the reasons. Organizing Wikipedia articles by genre is at least as crucial as by nationality since it pertains to style and content. Search by genre lets researchers and fans cross cultural barriers with thematic connections. More relevant literature and similar entertainment can expand scholarship and fun despite political and linguistic splits. Classifying by narrative mode gives a different context as germane as country origin. There is an active Science Fiction Novels Adapted into Films category, so a fantasy one is no stretch. Please let me know how to either improve a resubmit or instead appeal. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 04:26, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- Thank you for providing further information about your request. I hadn't noticed the existence of Category:Science fiction novels adapted into films buried amongst the other nationality-based categories, but with this precedent, I am happy to accept the category, and will do so now! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 05:48, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Much gratitude from a humble anon for a quick positive reassessment. It is possible for Nationality and Genre modifiers of Novels Adapted into Films into a pair of more readable categories while having more descriptors like by date, by topic, and so on. Though you need not the work, I have several other pending category asks going back months, including for Religion in Fantasy Fiction parallel to the existing Sci-Fi one. I also can and may propose Horror versions of both, yet enough for now with thanks. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 10:18, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Of course! The subdivision of the category might not be necessary at this point as there are not many genre-based categories, but I am happy to review future requests if there are enough pages to warrant their creation. Happy editing! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 20:42, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Since you mentioned it, there sure are chances for further genre-themed Novels adapted into Films subcategories, including yet not limited to Horror, Thriller, Mystery, Detective, Crime, Action, Adventure, War, Epic, and more. Historical novels alone must be basis for at least dozens of films. Then there is a general form of (Descriptor) (Format) adapted into (Other Format) with enormous variety. As that kind of completionist, I gladly accept your invitation for more submissions. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 14:05, 8 March 2025 (UTC)

Declination of proposed Category:Television shows about Adam and Eve
Thanks for still looking at my proposals and those of others. I regret that your question on if more articles can be listed went unanswered due to rejection with no further replies. It is likely that mythical progenitors Adam and Eve, foundational figures in the sincere beliefs of a majority of humanity preceded only by The Deity, would have numerous depictions that span all art and tech including television. The intent was to make a category akin to those for Paintings, Sculptures, and Films in that format. A cursory search before the proposal was posted found several times more relevant pages than were listed. If fine, please write where to post this notion with a longer article list, so that it might pass review. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 03:08, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- You are welcome to create another request at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Categories. As I stated in my declination, the shows you listed were not specifically about Adam and Eve, and thus don't fit the category. I don't believe that such a category is necessary or helpful due to this lack of pages to be categorized, but if you can show otherwise I would be happy to accept the request. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 03:14, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- My plan is to reapply later so I am not seen as spamming the category request page. Still, Cultural Depictions of Adam and Eve has at least a dozen non-categorized television works, with more elsewhere. Some are fully-made presentations or adaptations, yet others have a more minor or fleeting appearance. Many depiction articles include a creation if a mythic or historic person is on a single page or minute or corner. This is an attempt to have a Television article of the original troubled couple like that for Films. I can discuss any germane article if asked. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 04:53, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- You are welcome to recreate the request whenever you'd like. I do want to restate that "shows about" is not the same as "cultural depictions of", and as you mention, minor appearances would not count. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 12:58, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- I am glad resubmitting is allowed. For the sake of reviewers, I will retry later. Even so, some Cultural Depiction categories have little relevance. As example, the gory silly novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter notes Elisabeth Bathory yet John F. Kennedy has pages, but only she is categorized. There are also trivial Adam and Eve film listings, so my select television articles will be better. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 06:59, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I follow the meaning of your third sentence, but Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is clearly a cultural depiction of Abraham Lincoln, and not just a tiny mention. Regardless, let's leave this conversation for your new request. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:53, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Declination of proposed Category:Religion in fantasy fiction
Sorry for further talk timeline clutter. After writing for months, I am chagrined this proposal failed unadvised, save for a heckling anon. It groups work of both fantastic and religious inspiration across faiths, formats, languages, and generations. Neither subject is minor, yet the idea mimics and parallels the Religion In Science Fiction category, which is many years old with hundreds of articles including several subcategories. Also all of Star Wars, especially at the start, is really a religious adventure fantasy in philosophical action sci-fi clothing. Hope for feedback, thanks. 24.47.39.190 (talk) 05:04, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- I don't see how the comments made by 65.92.246.77 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) were "heckling", I think they made valid comments about the request. Subcategories of Category:Fiction about religion are more suitable for the pages you listed (and shouldn't be added to both per WP:OVERCAT), and I don't see them perfectly fitting into this new category. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 17:26, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Newslachival Double Reacharound
Hey Eejit, being notified of the Scripts++ newsletter being archived twice on your page drew me here. Potentially of interest: I actually personally use a similar archiving configuration that separates newsletters and discussions, except I let ClueBot do all the work since ClueBot (though not Sigmabot) supports multiple archival configs on the same page:
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis
| age=2278
| archiveprefix=User talk:Aaron Liu/Notifications
| archivenow=<nowiki><!--Template:,<!-- Template:,<!-- User:,<!-- Message sent by,Template:Contentious</nowiki>
| maxarchsize=75000
| format= %%i
| header=<nowiki>{{aan|image=[[File:Breathe-evolution.svg|60px]]|prefix=Notifications }}</nowiki>
| nogenerateindex=1
}}
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis
| age=720
| archiveprefix=User talk:Aaron Liu/Archive
| maxarchsize=75000
| minkeepthreads=2
| format= %%i
| header=<nowiki>{{aan|image=[[File:Breathe-system-file-manager.svg|60px]]}}</nowiki>
}}
Not saying you should also do that since IIRC ClueBot has some small drawbacks compared to Sigmabot, but I thought it would be interesting. Aaron Liu (talk) 21:46, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oh interesting, what a helpful feature! Thank you very much for letting me know about that, I might use it depending on if I am able to catch most newsletters by changing my name in mass messaging lists. Sorry my changes pinged you, that's a bit annoying! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 22:05, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- It's alright it was just two archival notifications. (Plus it showed up in the normal blue notice bar and not the alerts bar.) Aaron Liu (talk) 00:58, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

Change to displaytitle-editor
Hello, I was wondering if you could make a small adjustment to your displaytitle-editor script. Currently, when I use the script to add the {{DISPLAYTITLE:}} magic word to a redirect page, the script places the magic word at the top of the page, which removes the redirect (as seen here). Would it be possible to modify the script so that it places the {{DISPLAYTITLE:}} magic word after the #REDIRECT line instead? Thank you for your time and help! Proposed category: United Kingdom and Ireland literary prizes
Hi, I saw that you denied my request for this new category. It was my first go at requesting a category, so I may not have done a good job of it. May I explain further why I think it is needed? The guidance suggests that awards should be categorised by both home country and scope. There are a number of literary awards whose scope includes both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, but there is currently no category to identify them. Some significant literary prizes use this scope, including those I mentioned in the request - Costa Book Awards, Goldsmiths Prize, Republic of Consciousness Prize. To label these as "British" is insufficient, as it fails to distinguish them from literary awards that exclude the Republic of Ireland, such as the CWA Gold Dagger Award). This can cause misleading information to be propagated when Wikipedia is used as a source of information. It also means that there is no easy way to interrogate Wikipedia for a list of awards that fall within this category. Perhaps you could advise on how I could adjust the request to have a better chance of success?
Thank you for your time. User:FictionWitch User talk:FictionWitch FictionWitch (talk) 09:15, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @FictionWitch Thank you for providing more information! I first want to note that as you are autoconfirmed, you have the ability to create categories yourself without the need to go through AfC. However, you should still make sure you properly understand the guidelines for creating categories so that these categories aren't deleted immediately.
- What "guidance" are you referring to? If there is a precedent for this overlap, then that would be helpful to know about. However, per WP:OVERLAPCAT and WP:OVERCAT, I still believe that this specific distinction isn't helpful. Category:Irish literary awards exists, and can be used for awards covering the Republic of Ireland. As "Irish" and "British" aren't overlapping, pages could be categorized as both the aforementioned category and Category:British literary awards, without the need for another category that would duplicate information. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:37, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Eejit43 Thanks for that explanation about overlapping categories. The guidance about scope/home country was somewhere in the help pages, but I can no longer find it. I will follow your suggestion and use the Irish literary awards category in addition to the British literary awards category. Thank you. FictionWitch (talk) 17:10, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

User:Eejit43/scripts/article-cleaner
Hi, Eejit43! Wanted to ask if you can make this script support mobile editing. The Minerva skin on mobile is quite different from the one on desktop. If, you would like to check Mobile Minerva desktop, please add .m after en in the URL. Thanks! OPHYRIUS ⚔ 11:32, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

article cleaner issue (probably related to thumbnail images in infobox)
I've used the article cleaner a lot (great tool btw) and it has never really failed on me except for a recent edit where it broke up the infobox in the article. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong or where the bug lies but you as the author of the tool might have an idea. Laura240406 (talk) 17:14, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm glad you've found the tool helpful! There's certainly been a couple of times where I've gone to clean up and article only to find that no changes needed to be made as you cleaned it up before! :)
- Thank you for reporting this issue, I'll investigate it later this afternoon. I agree, I suspect it to be some issue with the thumbnail image, likely due to it having a
reftag in it. I'll let you know once I get to the bottom of it! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 17:23, 3 July 2025 (UTC)- @Laura240406 This has now been resolved, though in a bit of a roundabout way. The script now maintains the original content of
image(and similar) parameters in a comment following the new content, if it contains extra information. Ideally the user would catch that this is being removed and add size/caption parameters if needed, but this should help it be better noticed. I may revisit this change in the future. - Anyhow, this has a side affect of resolving that issue, which occurred due to the way I wrote the code to handle nested templates being broken after the templates were removed. Please let me know if you have any further issues! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 03:25, 4 July 2025 (UTC)

About supcat
Good afternoon, Eejit - you recently added the template SUPCAT as a wrap around a transcluded topic on my Sandbox. The topic was St. Johns' , supporting some testing I was doing for a discussion on how that apostrophe is used. I appreciate your offering this... But I cannot find an article which describes use of this particular template. Would you provide a link so I can read more?
The gist of the discussion over "St. Johns'", besides grammar, is that when transcluding I wanted to omit the Project ranking detail that appears, and to only transclude the subsection header and discussion. It would read more clearly. I've seen this in the past, and previously used it, but am missing the correct syntax or coding to show it properly. Jax MN (talk) 21:59, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- You can find the documentation for that template at Template:Suppress categories. Templates should always (at least usually) have documentation which can be viewed at their associated "Template"-namespaced page.
- As to your desire to only transclude sections, see H:LST, though you will want to use {{#section-h:page name|section name}}. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 01:37, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
Dark mode support for afcrc-helper
today I discovered the AFCRC helper script and it helps me a lot! I would like to request that it be updated with dark mode support for Vector 2022. Juwan (talk) 14:37, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- @JnpoJuwan I'm glad the script has been helpful for you! Are there any major issues with the dark mode styling? The current view is definitely not ideal, but I don't have enough time to rework it entirely for dark mode at the moment. If there are any major or simple issues I'm happy to fix those however. Thanks! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 21:15, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- the issues regarding it are not major problem, this is a low priority thing, though with Codex's colours, I doubt that it would take too much work. thank you either way! Juwan (talk) 21:21, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Update to redirect helper
I’d like to request an update to redirect-helper so that it recognizes new module-based categorization options for {{R from incorrect disambiguation}}. I recently created Module:Redirect template printability to centralize and standardize the logic behind redirect categorization. Currently, many redirect categorization templates have hardcoded their printworthiness status, which can lead to contradictory classifications when multiple rcats are applied to the same redirect. This module, in turn, provides a consistent logic decision tree and supports editor-specified overrides via |printworthy= and |unprintworthy= parameters.
Updating the gadget in this way would allow editors to toggle categorization directly from the helper’s dropdown menu, consistent with other rcats like {{R from miscapitalisation}}, while promoting the broader adoption of the module across Wikipedia’s redirect categorization landscape.
Current config (line ~2035 of redirect-helper.json)
"R from incorrect disambiguation": {
"parameters": {},
"aliases": [
"R from incorrect disambig",
"R id",
"R incorrect disambiguation",
"R wd",
"R wrongdab",
"Redirect from incorrect disambiguation",
"Redirect id",
"Redirect wd"
]
},
Proposed updated config
"R from incorrect disambiguation": {
"parameters": {
"printworthy": {
"values": ["yes"],
"label": "Force Printworthy"
},
"unprintworthy": {
"values": ["yes"],
"label": "Force Unprintworthy"
}
},
"aliases": [
"R from incorrect disambig",
"R id",
"R incorrect disambiguation",
"R wd",
"R wrongdab",
"Redirect from incorrect disambiguation",
"Redirect id",
"Redirect wd"
]
},

- Hello,
- redirect-helper pulls from templates' TemplateData normally found on their corresponding documentation subpages. I've added this to the template in this diff, and have re-run the function to update stored data in the JSON, seen in this diff. In the future, feel free to add/update TemplateData as I tend to update the data file weekly which will catch your changes (or you are welcome to ask me at any time). ~ Eejit43 (talk) 18:13, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
