Some comments

[edit]

Hi HSLover/DWF, I had a look at your GA nomination Fire (1996 film) and compiled some comments below. My familiarity with articles on movies and LGBTQ+ is limited so it might be better if someone more experienced does the actual GA review.

  • Dilip Kumar said that he has not seen the film should it be "had not seen"?
  • On 7 December, activists from 32 organisations, including Campaign for Lesbian Rights (CALERI), protest against replace "protest" with "protested"
  • despite the police commissioner's reassurance that protection has been arranged should it be "had been arranged"?
  • A new lesbian rights group, calling themselves the Campaign for Lesbian Rights (CALERI), formed in response to the backlash. I think it should be "calling itself" - should be themselves in Indian English
  • viewers must ask tough questions from films the preposition "from" sounds odd to my ears - I'm not sure- pretty common expression in Indian English
  • the meager store income to treat the Swamiji's hydrocele condition should it be just "treat Swamiji's hydrocele condition" with "the"- Swami kind of means priest, so it's kind of complex if there should be a "the" or not
  • Mehta stated that the first scene that she imagined her was Sita and Jatin's visit the "her" sounds out of place; could it be removed?
  • to the Taj Mahaljust after their arranged space between "Taj Mahal" and "just"
  • their arranged marriage- a sister-in-law was then introduced should the "-" after marriage be a period or an em dash?
  • Bajrang Dal workers with lathis invaded Rajpalace and Rajmahal in Surat the source spells it "Raj Palace theatre"; I don't think it mentions a "Rajmahal "- yeah, couldn't find the og source, so removed that, new source doesn't mention the second by name
  • Mina Kulkarni, one of the Delhi protesters explained add comma after "protesters"
  • It is revealed that Radha faces a similar problem. Many years ago, Ashok had come under the influence of Swamiji, a local religious preacher, who teaches that desires are the cause of suffering and must be suppressed. should it be "taught" since the sentence is in the past? - I feel like it should be in simple present tense
  • takes place on their cultural life, whenever such issue comes up. the preposition "on" sounds odd; replace "such issue comes" with "such an issue comes" or "such issues come"
  • crying for the freedom of right to expression maybe better: "calling for freedom of expression" - No, they specifically emphasised that the right itself is fundamental
  • 22 were arrested should this be spelled out as "Twenty-two"?
  • Rahman except for tracks add "the" before "tracks"
  • Furthermore, Thackery claimed should it be "Thackeray"?
  • is Spotify a reliable source?- sources like Amazon and Spotify which mention a product are usually considered reliable enough for GA at least, from what I have seen.
  • WP:EARWIG shows one potential copyvio with [1] but the page cites Wikipedia as its source

Thank you, Phlsph7. Almost all of your mentioned changes were helpful, and you also reminded me that I should give the article a grammar check. HSLover/DWF (talk) 18:11, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
