Hello,
I do not believe there was any bias in the writing. I interviewed Sofia myself and all of this information she wanted me to include. Authorofapeople (talk) 22:54, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Interviews do not establish notability, as an interview is not an independent source. 331dot (talk) 23:10, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia editors beg to differ: it was a promotional puff piece. Furthermore, that you would say that you wrote what she wanted you to write, that's not a good sign, and I'll leave a COI template below. Finally, your sources were a bunch of tweets and a video. Please acquaint yourself with what Wikipedia is; thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:22, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Other

[edit]

Hi, I do not have any connections with her other than that I did an interview with her for the sole purpose of creating an article about her. I am an independent journalist. Authorofapeople (talk) 23:12, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Adding on, she is very well known in Israel for her activism, so it is notable to create an article about her here.
Are there things I may be leaving out? Authorofapeople (talk) 23:13, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you select this person to interview? You didn't at random. As I note above, interviews do not establish notability, as they are not an independent source(as they are the person speaking about themselves). 331dot (talk) 23:13, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to just publish your interview with her, you should use social media or other site designed for that. 331dot (talk) 23:14, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comment. I’d like to clarify that the subject of this proposed page, is not being considered for inclusion based on a personal interview or primary source alone, but rather because she has received significant and repeated coverage in multiple independent and reliable media outlets in Israel. Her notability stems from her public actions and their impact, not from self-published content or original claims.
Specifically, Emuna has appeared in the news numerous times due to her highly visible political activism, which has included:
  • Repeated efforts to block aid trucks entering Gaza, covered in national and international outlets
  • Public demonstrations in Jerusalem involving Kahanist flags and slogans, leading to police interventions
  • Viral social media presence used as an organizing tool for far-right youth movements
  • Being named and discussed in political commentary pieces about the rise of ultra-nationalism and Kahanist revivalism among Israeli youth
In other words, she has been written about independently, repeatedly, and in depth, across both news and opinion sections, including coverage from outlets with clear editorial oversight.
While interviews do not in themselves establish notability, the person in question has clearly crossed the threshold of public significance by virtue of sustained media attention and public controversy. The proposed article would be sourced accordingly and written in a neutral tone, complying fully with Wikipedia’s guidelines on biographies of living persons and WP:NOTABILITY. The aim is not to promote her, but to document her influence and the broader discourse surrounding her.
If needed, I’m happy to provide specific article links to verify the above coverage Authorofapeople (talk) 23:33, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you have independent reliable sources with significant coverage of her, that's what any article about her should summarize, not your personal interview. Essentially you will need to start over fresh, limiting yourself to summarizing the sources that you say you have(see how to reference). You may blank the draft and rewrite a fresh one, then ask the rejecting reviewer to reconsider.
I again stress the contentious topic restrictions(see above). If your draft is ever accepted, you could no longer edit it directly until your account is 30 days old with 500 edits. Before that you could only make uncontroversial edit requests on the talk page. 331dot (talk) 23:44, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Tangential but did you take this picture yourself, or did you retrieve it from her X/Twitter account? You uploaded it as "own work" but your description implies that it isn't (which would mean you don't hold the copyright and it should be deleted).
