Infobox image handling
[edit]Hi, I've noticed your myriad edits to infobox image display in TV station pages. I am not sure if they are the right move.
- The infobox, as should be standard, inserts a light background on transparent logos, including in darkmode. While some one-color logos are OK to invert visually, others that are multicolor (anything other than black or dark gray) will look unusual and not use official colors.
- Adding frameless classes like this Special:Diff/1263111075 is also not advisable. I would like to know why you did this so we can find some more appropriate solutions.
If you have questions, let me know. There really is not as much documentation as there should be about this. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 00:39, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- adding frameless images on the ABC or NBC stations can make it look a little more cleaner. (I.e. some abc logos like WABC uses the color white in their logo, not using the white background looks more better). And about making the FOX stations inverted, makes it better and cleaner looking as well.
- if my editing isn’t right or appropriate [to change the images] I will politely stop though if there is a workaround it I will gladly help
- Note the only image I will invert are those in grayscale colors (white, grey, or black) Andreasc2000 (talk) 01:04, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- It’s also worth noting that the CBS and FOX logos inverted are mainly used a lot (mainly lots of cable boxes uses dark mode for television guides) much or like the ABC article that uses inverted colors Andreasc2000 (talk) 01:07, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- With all due respect, the injection of the frameless tagging is poor coding and disables the alt text. Plus, while a logo like CBS's or the Fox owned-stations are in monochrome, inverting the color on them is a completely improper display. The previous inverting of WBTW's logo was especially egregious as it turned the gold crescent blue, and it has never been displayed like that. It's not about being "cleaner", it's about an accurate portrayal of a copyrighted, non-free trademarked logo. Nathan Obral • he/him • t • c • 19:36, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, I'm TechnoSquirrel69. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Frutiger Aero, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 22:38, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- There's an image on one of the references, "Physical reflections of digital aesthetics: the influence of Frutiger Aero on interior design" on page 462 it shows an image of different sub genres of frutiger aero called the frutiger family. That was my citation I was trying to place to the "subgenre" section I added. Andreasc2000 (talk) 00:38, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, that's what I thought you might've been referring to. Thanks for clarifying, but the image you mentioned doesn't really support any of the text you added describing each sub-style, it's just a diagram symbolizing their related characteristics. If there is text discussing one of those styles, that can certainly be cited and included. For example, Frutiger Metro is already discussed in the article. Let me know if you have any questions! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:40, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- I can't find a good source explaining the different subgenres of frutiger aero all except for a website titled "frutiger-aero.org" which does explain different kinds of aero designs. So… maybe that could be a source explaining the subgenres…? Andreasc2000 (talk) 15:39, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- P.S.
- If you want the real link to the website it's: frutiger-aero.org/frutiger-aero Andreasc2000 (talk) 15:40, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Looking into that website a little, it looks like a fan project created and hosted on Neocities. As user-generated content, it would not be considered a reliable source that's fit for use on Wikipedia. What is usable are things like reputable newspapers with editorial oversight or peer-reviewed journals. Let me know if you have any questions about this! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:21, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I couldn't find any other source :( maybe within that article "Physical reflections of digital aesthetics: the influence of frutiger aero on interior design" that could explain what each sub genre is
- I'll have to look into it Andreasc2000 (talk) 14:21, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
