It's okay, Thanks for the help. It would be easier if they'd just let editors in general move articles over to redirect titles.RaintheOneBAM00:48, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I agree that it may be a lack of understanding. It seems to me he's trying to do it the right way now. My concern was that we couldn't be sure it was who he claimed to be. Daniel Case (talk) 15:50, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". See you at the drive! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.
I have unblocked User:98.163.75.189, whom you blocked for violation of the EL policy. I saw your previous comment, and I didn't really see the need to ask you again. If this is a violation of protocol, I apologize, but it is after all only a 48 hour block, and would probably have expired before we had sufficiently exchanged views. I have been examining the links he has been adding and the notice he has been receiving, and I consider the overwhelming majority of the automated notices unjustified. The EL policy has exceptions, and he has been, quite properly, using them in a way that benefits the encyclopedia. I wish he would stop editing anonymously, which would If I understand the operation of that bot prevent most of the notices, but he's stubborn about it. I am aware that although I am quite sure I am acting rightly, this is something that nobody can really judge for themselves, and , since I may now have become to some degree involved with respect to him, if he should be blocked because of future edits of this nature, I do not intend to be the one to unblock him. You may not agree with what I;'ve done. if so, please consider that, as I just said, I do not intend to do it repeatedly. If you're really unhappy, let's try to discuss it ourselves before proceeding to the next level, which is AN/I.
I don't know about this, maybe there should be a disambig page at Natasha Williams. The character and the British actress are not the only NW's in the world. What happens when someone creates an article for the American actress – [1]? - JuneGloomTalk17:59, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
I didn't know about her. She doesn't have an article atm though.. It's like with Rebecca Robinson there is a disambig page because some woman skipped around in her knickers.RaintheOneBAM00:32, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Just a quick note that when you change a previous block to allow account creation, as you did for Fixitbot, you may also need to lift the autoblock, otherwise they still won't be able to create an account from their IP address. In this case I've already lifted the autoblock, so no worries there. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 10:13, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

No worries, I did consider just blocking them outright but didn't want to appear bitey because they hadn't edited, so thought I'd given them the chance to change it first. However I notice now that ClueBot has since warned them for vandalism and both the edits they made appear to be vandalism. As for prefix and suffix, sorry that was my bad :)--5 albert square (talk) 22:42, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about the edit war, I lost track of time. Can you please intervene in this case, I am not the only editor who has reverted these edits, and it has been discussed on the articles talk page. Bleaney (talk) 22:41, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
No worries, I had to warn you though. I've fully locked the page now as that should force any discussion to take place on the talk page. Whilst I'm on the subject of EE though, do you know why Tiff and Liam were moved from regular to recurring? I always thought they were still regulars :S--5 albert square (talk) 22:48, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
I did it! It was discussed on the talk page. The rationale was all child characters are recurring due to the work constraints imposed on child actors, so for instance Bobby Beale is listed as recurring, even though he is the same age as Tiffany. To be honest though the whole Recurring/Guest section is in trouble as technically, listing a character as recurring usually constitutes original research (The BBC hardly ever issue a statement labelling a character as recurring, Norman and Poppy were an exception). In ll likelyhood the entire list should be changed/purged but its bound to be contravertial as it will mean losing the likes of Sal Martin, Reverend Stevens, Mr Lister and Imam Ali altogether. We would also have to list child characters as regular even the babies??!!?? When discussed in an earlier entry Anenome Projectors threatened to 'revert us all' if we tried removing/reforming the recurring section, so im at a loss what to do! Bleaney (talk) 22:54, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Ah sorry, I thought it was the other guy! I've always thought of Tiff more as a regular because she does seem to get quite a few scenes, would never think of Bobby in that way, he's had about 2 scenes all year! As for Aunt Sal, didn't we once remove her and put her as a former recurring, then we'd no sooner hit 'save' and she appeared in Billy's house the next episode?!
I know, its incredibly problematic, after all we KNOW that the likes of Aunt Sal and Mr Lister ARE recurring, but we cant prove it! I am happy to leave the recurring section there, but we all will have to accept that quite a chunk of original research will be left there too! Bleaney (talk) 23:12, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
By the way, I notice you readded tiff and Liam to the regulars list. If they are to go there, they should be listed in order of first appearance and not just taggedon at the end.Bleaney (talk) 23:17, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
I'll have a look at it over the next few days and see if anything can be done :). I'm actually surprised nobody has tried tonight to add Tyler Moon as a boyfriend or something to Lauren Branning's page even though it's clearly a one-night stand. That's what normally happens on here lol, a character has a one-night stand, next minute Wikipedia marries them off!--5 albert square (talk) 23:21, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

I would like to add the english BUSMASTER article again.
We have now different references that we can give.
See the German Wikipedia page on BUSMASTER.
It is the first Open Source project of ETAS and RBEI, and therefore linked from the ETAS site.
I have no idea of talks here, but if you activate the possibility to edit the page again, I'll try to produce one site that you can hopefully accept. Otherwise the English Wikipedia will be the only language without a BUSMASTER site :-)

I am in fact the "well-known living person" you refer to! With hindsight, it may have been naive of me to use my own (well-known in the Opera world) name as my username, but it never occurred to me that you should think someone would want to impersonate me! What do I need to do to convince you that I am who I say I am, and get you to unblock me? Best wishes, Peter SIDHOM 85.210.2.219 (talk) 16:32, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Hello, what you need to do in this case, as you are claiming to be this person is email info-en@wikipedia.org. They will ask for proof that you are Peter Sidhom, once they are satisfied, they can then unblock you. I hope this clears things up.--5 albert square (talk) 00:16, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm curious. If a user wanted their user page and talk page permanently semi protected do they have to show cause at Requests for page protection. I always assumed if someone wanted their own pages locked just ask any admin and no problem. I haven’t been vandalism much but just what if I ever wanted for whatever reason.
Yes, we do like to sleep very occasionally haha though it probably doesn't look like it! Hiya
I got a Speedy Deletion message for an article (snub) on Internet Solutions I created a while back. It certainly did not have a single bit of copyright information in it when it was created. If someone else later adds copyright info (allegedly), then that shouldn't be reverted? Furthermore I wasn't even able to see if it was in fact copyrighted as claimed by G12 invocation. Of course I assume good faith, just felt... well it was speedy and severe. Didn't get a chance to even see the article...
Internet Solutions definitely should have their own wikipage. They are part of NTT a $100B+ company and South Africa's (50 million people) largest ISP with hundreds of references about them. Bit sad that the wikipedians in Africa and African articles on companies are so underrepresented. Anyway that's another story ... :)
Hi there, can you take another look at Jade islam, an article that you deleted under A7. I saw it briefly before it was deleted (after it was tagged), and thought it had a claim to significance, ie., that she starred in a notable TV show. I might have missed something, but can you let me know what you think. It might end up being deleted in AfD anyway if it was undeleted but if there is a claim to significance, I think it would be better going that route rather than speedy deletion. Thanks, Quasihuman | Talk14:37, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Pat's final moments and episode influenced many characters – notably Janine especially with her revealing her pregnancy to her. Surely this should be mentioned? As the Pat/Janine dynamic has been an on-going storyline for years whilst David's return has only just occurred. Maybe there was a little too much detail, but I think what was originally there needs to be expanded. Alex250P (talk) 21:16, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback on avoiding copyright problems. But really my problem was being accused for doing it really. But still the advice helped.Algamicagrat (talk) 00:15, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
No problem, I think the issue was that you seemed to be copying great chunks of text and Wikipedia doesn't like that. If you follow the advice on the copyright template I gave you, you should be ok. Any questions, just ask :)--5 albert square (talk) 02:01, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I've undone your edit on The Bill. A television show does not cease to exist when it stops filming, so it's correct to say "The Bill is a police procedural ... " blah blah. What you had reverted was sections on the filming of the series which clearly should be past tense because it no longer happens. --Deadly∀ssassin20:12, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes I know that sign has been up for a while now. It was originally up for other reasons but now busy at work and hardly editing on Wikipedia as a result, that's why it's still there.--5 albert square (talk) 22:47, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi 5 albert square,
I'd like to inform you about this edit (now reverted) and that I issued a warning on the user's talk page. User has been blocked, but despite warnings adds 'official websites' again. I noticed you're October 2011 message and since I'm not sure what next step to take, if any, would you be so kind looking into it? Thank you, — Quibus (talk) 21:02, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I went back through my contributions. I warned Doug for removal of content. This was my first warning to Doug. I apparently was his fifth warning (by Huggle's reckoning) and an automated report to AIV was made. It appears that Huggle was not recording the warnings on Doug's talk page. I have seen this before where Huggle did not update the user's talk page. Though you would want to know. Jim1138 (talk) 05:21, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview
Dear 5 albert square,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

The french foreign minister bernard Kouchner conodoladed when Mr Noori got killed. He was extremly important person for Afghanistan. You cand find a lot news in every big media and all over the world about him.
I have spent four hours to write the article and someone deleted it in a few seconds. Please help me to renew the article, please. It a was very good article.

Thanks. I did do, but they couldn't do anything. He kept bragging how nobody can do anything about him. *sigh*Rainthe 123:43, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
From what I remember actually, I think that's correct *sigh*. I remember last time I had HJ Mitchell take a look to see if a rangeblock was possible but it isn't because there's innocent editors editing from that range too. Ah well, hopefully he'll find out one day there is life beyond Wikipedia!
Oh just seen it. I'm terrible for not checking mentions since they renewed the interface thingy. Crazy stuff. :pRainthe 100:08, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
I keep forgetting to check my messages on it. Had one from AP sitting there for months once because I forgot! The message on ClueBot's talk page made me laugh!--5 albert square (talk) 00:14, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
GOCE March drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive
GOCE March 2012 Backlog Elimination progress graph
Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months.
Progress report
During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here.
When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators.
Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May.
That's ok, didn't realise who she was until I read the article, I can't believe I forgot posh Lady Tara in Emmerdale! By the way should be back on Wikipedia full time now, things calmer at home and at work :).--5 albert square (talk) 21:35, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes, well I'm finally nearing the end of getting my Grandma's house sorted, it's cleared out now so should be going on the market the next few weeks. My Mum's move is also nearing completion and that house is due to go on the market this week. My Asthma is also coming back under control gradually – so looking good! Besides I also promised ClueBot NG I would be back sorting it's false positives soon! With 2 page moves tonight and 2 houses in the family going up for sale, I think I should apply for a job at Pickfords!--5 albert square (talk) 21:49, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Ha, maybe you should. Well I am glad everything is working out for you now. Plus, you'll never be short of tasks with the soap articles.Rainthe 122:25, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
