• User:M.Bitton, this user was on a tear. I reverted a bunch of their edits, but not all of them. I do wonder who puts those "infobox needed" comments on talk pages. IP editor, adding a ton of infobox parameters and only filling out one or two them is just useless--not to mention that some were just inappropriate, like for Five Little Monkeys, where you added a book cover, violating the rules for non-free content, but there's already Five Little Monkeys (book). @Drmies: good catch (and reverts)! The "infobox needed" nonsense seems to have been added by random editors, including this IP (it's old, but the modus operandi is somewhat similar to what we're looking at). M.Bitton (talk) 00:22, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

M.Bitton, they moved on to User talk:2A02:C7D:F01A:7900:757D:53DF:91B8:6C64, with similar but different edits. There's a few thousand such edits here and I'm considering a block. @Drmies and M.Bitton: I suspect this is the same IP hopping editor that I previously encountered at the end of 2022. Today, I reverted an edit to Talk:Antônio Pereira by an anonymous user at IP 2A02:C7D:F01A:7900:C44B:451C:FFB4:A9FE and within the hour it was manually reverted by an anonymous user at IP 2A02:C7D:F01A:7900:5DFF:C96F:8D80:ED51. I have previously observed that this is going on within the IP range 2A02:C7D:F000:0:0:0:0:0/42, and possibly has been occurring since 2015. When this editor came to my notice in December 2022, they were removing "needs-infobox" attributes from WikiProject templates before adding an infobox to an article. I challenged them on this behaviour and they revealed via edit summaries they were preparing infoboxes off-line then adding them to the article subsequently. I had then explained that other editors didn't know what they were doing and asked for them to not alter talk pages until articles had infoboxes. I have now asked the latest IP permutation for this editor to be more descriptive in their edit summaries. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:48, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
