dam simple is a web-based application for sharing, organizing, and managing documents within a team. The application is developed and licensed by the German software company Kreuzverweis Solutions GmbH.
Plans
[edit]Kreuzverweis offers a free plan for dam simple that includes 3 users, 100 documents, and 100 MB of online storage. Plans with more users, storage, or documents are offered as Software-as-a-Service where monthly payments for the usage of dam simple are required.
Features
[edit]Document organization in dam simple makes use of labels, or tags respectively. Documents are not organized in a folder hierarchy but by the labels attached to them. This approach of document organization offers higher flexibility but also complexity (see also the section on advantages and disadvantages of tagging systems from Wikipedia). The labeling of documents is therefore supported by automated suggestions for labels using a combination of machine learning methods and recent findings in research[1].
For awareness about activities of co-workers, dam simple features an activity stream that lists activities of co-workers ordered by the time they occurred.
Developers
[edit]dam simple is developed by former researchers of the Institute for Web Science and Technologies, Rafael Feld, Dr. Thomas Franz, Carsten Saathoff, and Simon Schenk.
