Do not edit under a name that is likely to imply that you are (or are related to) a specific, identifiable person, unless it is your real name.
Think that's pretty clear. For example, what if Salako splits from this person. Who controls the account? — rsjaffe 🗣️ 22:51, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because try to test if long-term protection is still needed by checking if disruption resumes after unprotection. Protected for a year with no disruption during the protection. Qwerasdfzxcv2 (talk) 22:56, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
I would like to request protection for my page due to persistent vandalism and disruptive edits, particularly from anonymous users. The page has recently experienced malicious changes that appear to be targeted and coordinated, likely from individuals with a conflict of interest or intent to discredit.
To maintain the integrity of the article and prevent further disruption, I kindly request that the page be fully protected. We request a copy of the usernames and associated details of the individuals who performed the recent edits. After consulting with our legal advisors, we are considering legal action. Additionally, we would like to request the removal of the last four edits to the page, as they negatively impact our credibility. Please let us know if you require any further information from our side.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Ranjithramasamy1 (talk) 10:15, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Legal threats are not allowed on wikipedia. Additionally this is in the wrong section. Also as per Wikipedia:Ownership of content and Wikipedia:COI you can't own your own page. GalStar (talk) 17:53, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Been around for 10 years. A new page reviewer (see here) encouraged me to request the autopatrolled rights over my page and redirect creation record. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 22:42, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
The user has created an impressive total of 834 articles so far, with only five deletions. Given this strong track record, I believe they fully deserve autopatrolled rights. Thank you. Baqi:) (talk) 20:11, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
I am requesting the autopatrolled user right. I have created 90 articles so far, out of which only 2 have been deleted. Most of my articles are well-sourced biographies, mainly related to the Pakistan Army, with some focused on media personalities. I strive to follow Wikipedia’s notability and sourcing guidelines in all my contributions. Granting me autopatrolled status will help reduce the workload for new page reviewers. You may also consider taking suggestions from the reviewers (JTtheOG, John B123) who frequently review my pages, as they are familiar with the quality and consistency of my work. I have lost access to my original accounts, User:Linkin Prankster and User:Roman Reigns Fanboy. Wikimedia asked me to enter a verification code it sent to my account yesterday, something it never did before. Unfortunately I don't remember the email addresses I used to register those accounts and now I'm unable to recover them I talked to admins at WP:AN#Lost access to all my account and they suggested that I try requesting extended confirmed rights here. I request that you grant me the permission so I can go back to editing articles requiring EC level permissions I could normally, instead of having to wait a month for it. Thank you. @Chetsford: 2 June has arrived and I've kept editing articles since then. I request that you please grant me access to extended-confirmed permissions so I can edit articles that require such permissions. I've tried everything but it looks like I'll never be able to recover my old accounts. Also please block both User:Linkin Prankster and User:Roman Reigns Fanboy if you think it is necessary. Thanks in advance. Supreme Rankling (talk) 01:49, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
I am requesting extended confirmed rights. Since being unblocked, I have made over 500 edits, including the creation and improvement of several articles with a focus on building content, adding citations, and correcting issues I want to acknowledge that I was previously blocked for gaming the system. At the time, I misunderstood the importance of acting in good faith and respecting community norms. Since the block, I’ve taken time to understand policies like WP:CONSENSUS, WP:NOTHERE, and WP:GAME. I now realize that trying to “work around” the rules damages trust and collaboration. I’ve worked to improve not just the quantity, but the quality of my contributions. I will avoid contentious edits, engage constructively on talk pages when needed, and take care to follow Wikipedia’s policies and guidelines. I am committed to editing in good faith and maintaining a respectful and policy-compliant presence on Wikipedia going forward. Thank you for considering my request.

I am running contests like Wikipedia:The World Destubathon. It is a big attempt to eliminate thousands of stubs for every country and topic and want to invite a lot of project members personally with a message. User:DreamRimmer and User:Polygnotus have been very helpful, but it would greatly help me if I was given formal mass message rights as I will likely be running more contests in the future and need the easiest outlet to contact relevant projects and participants who would potentially be interested without having to spend ages doing it manually! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 06:51, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

Page mover[edit]
I first encountered a situation where the page mover permission would have been helpful when moving Michael Savage (politician) to Mike Savage (politician). Now as I continue developing content I ran into a situation where I need to move a ready article (Draft:Pottersfield Press) over a redirect I previously created (Pottersfield Press), and I foresee situations like this happening more, so now seems like a good time to figure out technical moves rather than continuing to ask others to do it. I intend to only use the page mover abilities for this purpose for the foreseeable future, and may start fulfilling uncontroversial move requests once I become sufficiently familiar with the process. Thanks. MediaKyle (talk) 15:22, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
Believe it would useful when making technical page redirects as I often do, such as moving James C. Ho to James Ho and moving The Proxmire Amendment to Proxmire Amendments. Irruptive Creditor (talk) 03:18, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer[edit]
Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: To expand my tool belt as an extended confirmed recent changes patroller, and to more quickly afford new users their non policy breaking contribution. I have currently no sanctions against me and I think I understand wiki policy well enough for it. Thank you JamesEMonroe (talk) 20:02, 22 May 2025 (UTC) (Post edit) When using this perm, I will take extra care. I think I have met requirements in WP:PCCRITERIA and have reviewed Wikipedia policy. Also please consider older reverts as well or when I took the time to explain things to new users. JamesEMonroe (talk) 21:27, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
I want to have this permission to reduce the pending changes backlog. I reviewed all the guidelines, such as BLP and the guideline for referencing. I revert good faiths and obvious vandalism and warn the user right after. Although I cannot perform a rollback to the recent changes page to have a consecutive track record due to my device's limited capabilities. I would rather choose pending changes over rollback; with rollback, I must have track records of mass rollback vandalism. But since I understood the guideline of rollback and pending changes, I can assure you that I will be responsible for having this permission. — ArćRèv • talk 10:38, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi there, I have been creating articles for the Nigerian Portal on Wikipedia for over five months now. I'd like to have this role to expand my editing jurisdiction. Thanks Cameremote (talk) I came from a remote place 00:26, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Re-requesting the Pending Changes granted by Mz7 to my comprised old account. Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs⚔ 09:56, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi there! Despite my account having existed since 2009, I have only 450 edits - and so it is more than reasonable for one to question whether I am a sufficiently experienced Wikipedian to be granted additional privileges. I am requesting Pending changes reviewer as I believe I have demonstrated a good faith effort to contribute to the project, civility when interacting with other users, and adequate judgement when attempting to discern between deliberate vandalism or well-intentioned mistakes. But more than anything, I seek to find relevant policies and / or guidelines when confronted with a new (to me) situation - and while I endeavour to be WP:BOLD, I am aware of my own limitations and thus I know when to stop and ask others for guidance before proceeding. If granted Pending changes reviewer I cannot promise I would be a prolific reviewer of pending changes; merely that when reviewing pending changes I would ensure I am doing it because I am confident in my ability to get that decision right, rather than out of boredom or a desire / sense of obligation to make the decision myself. Thank you very much for your time & consideration. ···sardonism · t · c 17:07, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
I think I'm supposed to have this as I see an option suddenly for pending changes on my watchlist, for the article Remote sensing? I was going to approve (it's just a newer user adding some book references), but I guess I cannot? -- Very Polite Person (talk) 21:02, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
A little bit ago I made a request (which was declined - account new), I am again requesting this right because: -My account is now over a month old -My account is extended confirmed -Lately, I have run across a lot of fine pending changes edits, but I can not approve them only revert them As you can see, the main thing I do on Wikipedia is revert vandalism, you noted I should be a little more careful in doing so, which is what I did. I think this right would allow me to reduce backlog, and do something I like (reverting vandalism) in a different way. As you can see, I am also requesting the rollback right, which would help me with this process as while as reverting vandalism in general. Whatever the outcome is, thank you. If it is not done, please provide me with steps I can take to get approved. ExplorerofSpace (talk) 00:29, 5 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm dropping a request here aswell. Please do consider me request for the Rollback Permission. Thanks. Cameremote (talk) I came from a remote place 00:46, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello there, I am requesting rollback permission. With my contributions, I am particular with BLP articles. I know what unconstructive edits are. I read the guidelines, and I am also aware of what the difference is between good faith and disruptive. I do, but I'm not very good at patrolling recent changes due to my devices' capabilities, but I want to contribute to decreasing vandalism in Wikipedia to the best that I can. I have read the guidelines for rollback permission, and I guarantee you that I will have the responsibility of having this permission. Thank you. - ArćRèv • talk 11:34, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello! I am requesting rollback rights to aid in reverting vandalism. I am mostly requesting the permission to use tools like Huggle and AntiVandal. I have read through the relevant policies and belive I meet the requirements for rollbacker. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask me. Best wishes, Macaw*! 16:58, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
I'm requesting rollback to use tools such as Antivandal & M:SWViewer. My previous request was pretty messed up. This userright will be very helpful to me in reverting Vandalism. Thanks! Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs⚔ 09:57, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
I am back again. A little bit ago, I requested this right, and it was denied because it was not old enough.[1] My account is now one month old and I have extended confirmed permissions.[2] I was wondering if that is enough to get me this permission, thanks. Hey! I'm requesting Rollback privileges to make use of Huggle. I think the interface would make RC patrolling a lot less tedious and allow me to contribute more efficiently. — BE243 (about | talk) 03:54, 4 June 2025 (UTC) |

Template editor[edit]
This will equip me with the ability to edit and improve/update templates, and allow me to assist however else I can with template editing. I have extensive experience on wikipedia if you look at my user history so I will not be abusing this ability. 4vryng (talk) 22:06, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
