Java-class cruiser
- ... that the Dutch government considered converting the incomplete Java-class cruisers (example pictured) into English Channel ferries?
- Source: "Dutch politicians questioned the need for expensive new warships, among them the new naval minister, Hendrik Bijleveld... It was even suggested that the cruisers be sold to private concerns and converted into English Channel ferries." - Page 8 and 9 of The Royal Netherlands Navy of World War II

Overall: Thank you for this fascinating article about naval ships. Congratulations on the GA success.
- I recommend using the image which appears on the article, which I have added here. Storye book (talk) 11:29, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry, I didn't realise that, thank you for the heads up. But there are plenty more photos of the ship here. If you would like to choose one which would look clear as a thumbnail, please link it here, and then I'll review it and delete the old pic.. Storye book (talk) 18:58, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the offer, but I am okay without an image. Adding any more would require the image to be featured on the article, but I don't see how any more images would add anything of much worth (ie. as a visual aid for something not already illustrated). While this image of Java is in the article, I don't like it that much due to poor POV and other images of the class have questionable copyright claims or have been criticized aesthetically. Confirming geen tick, with or without the above image. Thank you, GGOTCC for your explanation. As I understand it, you don't have an objection to the above image in itself? If so, we can leave it up to admin whether they use it or not, if that is okay with you? If you can get the image slot, you are likely to get more clicks. Storye book (talk) 09:08, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
