[edit]

Should we have an article "R. v Huhne and Pryce" as there is clearly a serious overlap between her article and Huhne's? PatGallacher (talk) 20:35, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. See here. ISTB351 (talk) 23:40, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

[edit]

Are the police still keeping track of her? The article ends by saying she is tagged, but that was in 2013. 24.4.136.172 (talk) 03:53, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Criminal convictions

[edit]

In the light these two removals: here and here, I suggest that the material removed, which has been part of the article for some time, is WP:DUE and should remain. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:13, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed edits to ‘Conviction’ section — rationale

[edit]

The original “Conviction” section contained a detailed narrative about the offence and police investigation, including specific wording about the false claim and extended chronological details. While factually accurate, this level of detail gave the conviction disproportionate prominence relative to the rest of Pryce’s biography.

The section has been condensed to a short, neutral summary that retains all the key facts (the charge, defence, conviction, sentence, and release), supported by reliable sources. This improves neutrality and readability, and brings the section more in line with WP:BLP and WP:UNDUE.

Feedback and further discussion welcome. — Pinhornp @Martinevans123: (talk) 10:21, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You were previously editing as anon IP 82? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:26, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Conrad Black has an entire paragraph about his convictions, in the lead section? Not checked all the others yet. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:29, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes was previously editing as anon IP 82 and let's focus on the conviction section. (Unsigned comment from Pinhornp)
I do not support the proposal to remove Vicky Pryce's 2013 conviction from the lead section. I think her prison sentence, which gained significant media attention, is a notable part of her life and WP:DUE weight for the lead.
Elliot Morley's conviction and prison sentence is (rightly in my view) currently included in the lead section.
Michael Milken's conviction and prison sentence is (rightly in my view) currently included in the lead.
The prison sentence of Boris Becker is currently included in the lead – (a man I admired for his prodigious tennis ability but I don't think his prison sentence should be removed from the lead – it was a significant event in Becker's life.)
The prison sentence of Tony Adams is currently included in the lead.
The prison sentence of Lee Hughes is currently included in the lead.
The prison sentence of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is also currently included in the lead.
I don't see the precedent for removing a prison sentence from the lead section of a public figure.
