Close paraphrasing of copyrighted sources

[edit]

Hi, as a relative newbie, I was wondering how to figure which sources are considered 'close paraphrasing'. The article has been widly re-written, so it would be great to understand if the concern is still relevant. Tom deat (talk) 13:06, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Abductive; over a year ago, you placed a close paraphrasing tag on the article. Do you remember if there was any specific source that was closely paraphrased? Sennecaster (Chat) 19:40, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid not. Sorry. Abductive (reasoning) 02:35, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you so much for answering. Is there a way to close out the topic then? Tom deat (talk) 16:19, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not the one who put the big Copyvio notice on the page. Now that it's there, the procedure is set, as explained in the notice. I wouldn't have put a close paraphrasing tag on there if there wasn't close paraphrasing at the time, maybe the webpage the Wikipedia article borrowed from has been taken down or been changed in the interim.
