When it comes to referring to main characters and differing them from reccuring/minor/one-off characters in the cast list
[edit]I feel that to any newcomers it will be very hard to tell the difference to the main character from the rest the voice actors play.
I feel we should put the two main characters separate from the rest and just have the voice actors name come off several times in order for it too be able to read.
Or we can put the character's name first then the voice actor although that would take a lot of effort to do.
Either method I feel like however would make things more understandble for a newcomer. SpiderShakespeare (talk) 20:40, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- A lot of the minor characters could probably go under "additional voices" as an umbrella term. Coalah (talk) 18:14, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Personal claims
[edit]Please stop the personal claims already. I didn't see what was going on with AS because I had school tomorrow so I was sleeping. However, I mostly support reliable sources. Next time, provide a WP:RS to support your claims. If not, I may report you for continual WP:DE. Thank you. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 16:19, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- I have a few reliable sources that can be cited. Here is an archived link to Adult Swim's online schedule, as it was on January 9th. Here is a fansite with a comprehensive schedule archive showing what Smiling Friends episodes aired instead of what was billed on January 9th. These three tweets from Adult Swim are replying to people asking about why there's more Smiling Friends airing, in the network's usual tone. kianworld (talk) 03:54, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- AS can be weird of course. I will take the web archive and AS tweets as reliable, but for the fansite, not. This means that you need another reliable source to provide your information. Please try again. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 04:49, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- While I do agree that a fansite shouldn't be used as a source and while it could arguably be original research to say they all premiered without including a source, I can also corroborate they did in fact premiere seven episodes and it would be factually incorrect to say otherwise. While they don't list all of the titles, I think these would be good enough as sources unless anyone can find anything better:

- (That article is specifically about the fact that they surprise-premiered the episodes.)
- (That article includes the statement, ""For those who aren't familiar with Smiling Friends, well – the series did just premiere the other day in full. Season one debuted on January 10th after a pilot was shown back in April 2020.")
- To head off potential issues you might take with these, it's true that there are two minor discrepancies between these sources - the first says that there's supposedly going to be one more episode at some point (no idea where they got that info since they seem to be the only ones reporting this), while the second says the whole season aired; and the first says the episodes aired on January 9th while the second says they aired on January 10th. But they both agree that other episodes did in fact air, and the first explicitly says it was seven new episodes, so that should be good enough for now. And the reason for the date discrepancy is the fact that Adult Swim generally advertises stuff as premiering on the earlier date even if it's premiering late enough at night to technically be the later date. (The first new episode premiered at 12 AM ET on January 10th and the rest followed immediately afterward, but the show was advertised as premiering on January 9th because that's just how Adult Swim does things. That fact is even already noted in a note on the current version of this Wikipedia article itself.) One source went with what Adult Swim says and one went with the actual literal date. Alphius (talk) 09:23, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
Wrong Dates?
[edit]Out of curiosity, why are all the dates not changed? Those were the dates originally scheduled, but the whole season post pilot stealth premiered on Sunday, as would be common knowledge if searched on Twitter. Additionally, all of the ratings can be found so those can be added as well. Am I missing something? Moncayk1 05:13, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
Character’s Tab
[edit]Maybe it would be more beneficial to readers to put in a Characters tab where all major, and maybe some minor, characters can be listed out and described Bmags16 (talk) 13:47, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Critics
[edit]The page says it has received praise from critics, but outside of other Youtubers, I have not seen any critical response to the first season of the show nor any of it's episodes. Hooded-wanderer (talk) 06:29, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, I would agree with this criticism. Personally, I believe the claim that it has received universal praise from fans is probably true, but I haven't seen much critical attention anywhere and either way this sort of claim should really have more than one reference to back it up. Season 2 episode titles
[edit]Several titles from the upcoming season were found via a WarnerMedia presskit that was publicly accessible. You can see the titles here: https://warnerbros.ent.box.com/s/am006xy3fbkxywu5frjgtcu10hix8g20/folder/255981121869
What I'm asking is whether or not these titles can be added, as the source is official but it's obtained in a somewhat illegal way. PeteTheRock155 (talk) 23:40, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
Season 3 episode titles
[edit]Probably just being a pedant here, but how do we know the episode titles from the video are real? Putting out a video "revealing" a string of fake episode titles would be a very Smiling Friends thing to do. I wouldn't add them to the article until we have a more "official" confirmation, but that's just my personal opinion. Most Horizontal Primate (talk) 01:42, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
Voice cast
[edit]Could we curtail the 'Voice cast' section? I think it's too extensive. People are credited for small parts in single episodes alongside their main roles, and there's a near-exhaustive list of every guest star. I think it's unneccessary - could we reach a consensus on whether to shorten this down? Mr Serious Guy (talk) 17:17, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
Smiling Friends episode guide
[edit]I think the way the series overview is currently labeled is a bit flawed and doesn't accurate represent how season 1 was aired. In the table, I believe season 1 should be listed as saying it was all broadcast on January 10, 2022, you could add a note to the side saying the series premiere was originally released as apart of adult swim's annual april fool's prank and later aired again for the actual premiere. for the Brazil special, that could be listed separately as having aired on August 6, 2022.
I wanted to include an image showing what I meant but I don't think I can so hopefully this makes sense.
This is just my humble opinion, thank you for reading. ~2025-34835-96 (talk) 15:18, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
Smiling Friends characters getting their own Wikipedia page
[edit]I feel at this point with how popular Smiling friends has gotten and how much of a culture phenomenon it has become, I feel at this point its about time some of the main characters get their own dedicated Wikipedia page. such as Chalry Dumpler, Pim Pimmling , Allen, Mr.Boss, Glep, and maybe Gwimbley from the first episode of season 2 should indivisley get Wikipedia pages of their own. What do you think? Nicholas Corapi (talk) 01:41, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
- Find sources then. KreamoNoBrainos/Kreamy/Fat Man (talk) 11:09, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
The "end" of Smiling Friends
[edit]This situation is rather complicated considering that the show was renewed for more two more seasons. However, the creators stated that they wanted the show to end after season 3 due to burnout. They did state in the video however that they do have the opportunity to do more episodes if they are in the mood again. So essentially, this could mean that seasons 4 and 5 could technically happen in the future, but not anytime soon. I wonder if any of you have thoughts about this, however. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 04:24, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- From what I got from the announcement, season 3 will definitely be the last. They clarified it's better to end the show rather than have a hiatus and suggest to fans something they may not follow up with. I think you confused their potential for subsequent collaborations as meaning more episodes, but they decided that season 3 would end the show on a high note. There's a good chance that Zach and Michael will collaborate more, just not necessarily with Smiling Friends. Carlinal (talk) 06:21, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- The announcement did mention that they can do more episodes if they are in the mood again. They could do a revival if they want. It’s their choice, but this is their decision regardless. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 17:29, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- The show runners and Adult Swim have done pranks like this before. That alone puts the authenticity of this into doubt. ~2026-12817-62 (talk) 18:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- An elaborate prank telling everyone the show is cancelled...? I'm not a hardcore [adult swim] fan but even I would find that too crude for them. What prior examples? Carlinal (talk) 18:53, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- The creators did say that they’re serious, though it could be a giant April Fools prank from the crew members. Who knows. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 00:48, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
