The result of the move request was: Boldly moved. Intrisit removed the RM to go request it at WP:RM/TR, then Thecleanerand performed a WP:CUTPASTE move (please don't do that), and now I have actually moved the page. (closed by non-admin page mover) SilverLocust 💬 22:40, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Lionsgate Studios Corp. → Lionsgate Studios – According to the official website and from The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate Studios Corporation is simply named as Lionsgate Studios, not just Lionsgate as it does for the parent company. It even had a new logo specifically use for the recently spun-off company, which sadly didn't added yet. Per WP:NCCORP, we don't need to add "Corporation" or "Corp." into this article title unless the legal company name has been used for legal purpose. If not possible (giving that "Lionsgate Studios" already redirected to North Shore Studios), we could add year in the article title such as Lionsgate Studios (2024) or another similar parenthetical disambiguator. 2404:8000:1037:456:28DD:7F6C:E5FA:233C (talk) 10:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Makes sense, especially because the North Shore Studios article is a stub with nothing notable about the subject cited. If not for the notification, I would have just done that Thecleanerand (talk) 14:45, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Moved Lionsgate Studios Corp. to Lionsgate Studios page
- Added #REDIRECT Lionsgate Studios to Lionsgate Studios Corp.
- Moved contents of Lionsgate Studios Corp. to Lionsgate Studios

- Wow, you went ahead of me in terms of moving this page! I was just about to list this at RMTR due to the long-term pageviews comparison to/with the previous rdr target for this title like you just stated. Now that you've done it, could you please close this section? Thanks! Intrisit (talk) 15:14, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Lionsgate Studios → Lionsgate – Lions Gate Entertainment (d/b/a Lionsgate) was recently split into two companies, Starz Entertainment (d/b/a Starz) and Lionsgate Studios (d/b/a Lionsgate). Although the former is the legal successor to the original Lionsgate company, it is the latter that bears the name "Lionsgate" and will likely be commonly known as such. Although Lionsgate's film studio division, Lionsgate Films, is sometimes referred to as simply "Lionsgate", it is a subtopic of the parent company rather than the primary topic; this treatment is consistent with other film studios, such as Warner Bros. vs. Warner Bros. Pictures; Paramount (company) [primary redirect] vs. Paramount Pictures; Disney [primary redirect] vs. Walt Disney Studios (division); etc. Hatnotes can sort out any potential confusion per WP:ONEOTHER, and WP:SMALLDETAILS distinguishes this between the other entries listed at Lions Gate (disambiguation). - Oppose. This seems to be a presumption of primary topic based on a WP:CRYSTALBALL assessment that the topic here "will likely be commonly known as such". It seems preferable to wait for the dust to settle and keep the article at the formal name until it's clear that an overwhelming majority of sources use the term exclusively for this entity. Note that Lionsgate Films may be in the mix too, I would think a disambiguation page at Lionsgate is best for now. — Amakuru (talk) 21:17, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- Then let's disambiguation. It doesn't make sense to redirect Lionsgate to an article that doesn't even bear its name, Starz Entertainment. InfiniteNexus (talk) 21:38, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, that's certainly a sensible point. — Amakuru (talk) 15:48, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose for now. Lionsgate Studios Corp isn't d/b/a-ing as "Lionsgate" & Starz Entertainment Corp isn't d/b/a-ing as "Starz". According to their respective articles, Lionsgate Studios Corp publicly operates as "Lionsgate Studios", while Starz Entertainment Corp does so as "Starz Entertainment". Also, Lionsgate Studios Corp's name is more than just "Lionsgate", much like Starz Entertainment Corp's name is more than just "Starz". And, honestly, Amaru does raise a valid point; what's being suggested is essentially, as the old saying goes, "putting the card before the horse". Plus, it does make sense, eventually, to do a disambiguation for the "Liongsate" brand, due to both "Lionsgate Studios Corp" and "Liongate Films" existing, as there's the possibility some could refer to either property by nothing more than the "Lionsgate" name. ClarkKentWannabe (talk) 00:41, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Why not make Lionsgate a DAB page now? The company that has mostly done business under name that includes Lionsgate is now called Starz Entertainment and that article contains most of the "Lionsgate" history. We can't assume Lionsgate Studios will become the primary topic for Lionsgate–it's sure to confuse, frankly. P.S. Why do companies do this?!--MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 14:57, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
