Star Spangled Banner?

[edit]

In the personal life section talking about her love of baseball, there’s an uncited claim that she sang the national anthem at a Braves game.

I vaguely know Faye and I’m unaware of this, though I do know that she sang “Take Me Out To the Ballgame” at a Braves game - and she has mentioned this and posted photos on social media before.

I’m not much of a Wikipedia editor, so I just wanted to mention it here in case somebody wanted to research this and make changes to the article! 2600:1005:B08B:DA3B:F9EF:AE27:F907:3DF8 (talk) 15:03, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Early life largely unsourced

[edit]

Most of the early life section of her page is, from what I can tell, entirely false. I found the edit that was made to her page back on the 25th of December, 2021, that fabricated multiple things about her, and since no one cared to fact check, the information has just stayed on her page. I will bold every single thing that is fabricated on there. You guys can check each of the sources to prove their authenticity.

Faye Connell Webster was born June 25, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. Several of her family members are also musicians; her grandfather, named Corbin, was a bluegrass music guitarist in Texas, her mother was a guitarist and fiddle player, and her youngest brother played in a rock band in high school. By age 14, Webster was writing music. She attended Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta, where she and a group of friends formed a rap group. After watching her perform at open mic nights, her dad advised her to record her music so that people could take it home with them.

Again, this has stayed up for four years! Four years is outrageous for such a famous singer like her! This also happened with Benson Boone for about a good six months where one person entirely lied about his sister's names and somehow got away with it until I noticed it.

I do genealogy, and I can confirm that only one of her grandfathers was born in Texas (the other one, her paternal grandfather in Alabama, respectively), and the grandfathers name is George, not Corbin. I could go as far as to say that there aren't even any Corbin's in her family whatsoever.

My sources for this rant are (practically) the lack of sources mentioning anything about her early life, and both her maternal grandmother and paternal grandfathers' obituaries:
