Stewart killed a Shell employee who was with Sanders. and was convicted of murder, eliminating Sanders's competition.
Change period after Sanders to a comma. 2605:A601:A938:A800:790F:A2DC:6D87:E2D1 (talk) 14:22, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
Partly done: I think it works better grammatically to lose that punctuation altogether, which I have done. Thanks for the catch. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 15:08, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
"What's My Line?" appearance
[edit]He appeared as a normal contestant on the show on the episode aired December 1, 1963, before he became popular and famous as the founder and owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Would this be notable enough to include in the article, or no? 68.49.126.217 (talk) 06:18, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
Please explain.
[edit]‘He worked the job for nearly three years until he was fired for "insubordination" after he got sick.’
What is the connection between his illness and his insubordination? 220.240.106.28 (talk) 05:32, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking the question, I have made an edit. I had a look at the source, and there's a bit more to it, as the coy use of citation marks suggest. He got involved in union affairs at the displeasure of management. According to the 1982 biography, the sickness/"insubordination" was just the first opportunity management saw to get rid of him. It's on pp 19-20 if you're interested in reading

Add to the Beyond section - Other fun references to the Colonel have been seen in television shows like Community’s episode https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_Rocket_Science#Production where a KFC product placement hinted at many notable marketing tropes used by the company, all of which remind one of the image of the famous Colonel. Sharonmadison23 (talk) 18:01, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
Not done: thanks for the suggestion, Sharonmadison23, but this change needs an independent reliable source that discusses it. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trivia sections for more guidance. Schazjmd (talk) 18:08, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback.
- Is this what you mean?

- This is the citation from the wikipedia link, but what I offered as text was not a quotation. I guess I understand that you are saying that this is an opinion, not a fact, right? Sharonmadison23 (talk) 18:14, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Why is it worth mentioning in this article? How is KFC-branding in an episode relevant to a biography about this person? Schazjmd (talk) 18:24, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
