Notability?

@JASpencer I see you've been making edits to this article recently so I'll consult you first; I think there's a lack of demonstrable notability here (the first two references are purely biographical, the third is the subject's own work and the fourth seems tangentially related) and I'm considering submitting this article to AfD; thoughts? I think she's notable for her book The Eighteenth Century Commonwealthmen which has been described as a "missing link" putting together English whig and oppositional thought with Bailyn's very influential work on the ideology of the American Revolution. I know a bit less about the Cambridge School and their work on eighteenth century radicalism, but she seems influential with them as well. JASpencer (talk) 09:42, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There doesn't seem to be "significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject" as per WP:NBIO though. I made a cursory search for sources and all of them that I can find are very brief biographical overviews with lists of her work. From the sounds of it you seem to be something of a subject matter expert but without any external sources that's WP:OR

If the book 'The Eighteenth Century Commonwealthmen' is notable for the reasons you've described and has sources to indicate as much then it might be worthy of an article of its own, but I don't think that justifies an author article by proxy; I could be wrong, I'm no wiki policy expert.

At the moment I'm still leaning towards submitting this for deletion but if you disagree we can maybe get some more eyes on this for consensus. Athanelar (talk) 09:53, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
