Current future Perspective of Android One

[edit]
  1. There is almost no visible marketing for Android One
  2. Moto One doesn't follow Android One any more
  3. Xiaomi doesn't promise new Android One phones anymore
  4. Nokia is "last resort" and doing strange things
  5. Fuchsia is around
  6. Android One on twitter is doing nothing

So Android One is dead? And only insiders know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:ec:c704:a67c:647b:f2ec:e3b8:20e9 (talkcontribs) 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Doesn't seem like it, there are new phones being added to the program by Motorola and Nokia in 2020. --Neuhaus (talk) 09:45, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But now it's 2022 and no new phone was released since 2021 (which saw a very few Nokia phones - see comment above). -109.186.252.233 (talk) 08:20, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@109.186.252.233
Please update this article. Every time I try to do this, whoever (Google?) has charge of it whacks it back. It's 2022, Google One looks dead, and no new phones seem to be offered under it's marketing. 2603:8000:8903:74FC:65CC:F54E:2C2C:CE9C (talk) 17:08, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know there are new Android One models released in 2022, e.g. Nokia G21. Possibly others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.117.110.172 (talk) 15:38, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then why doesn't the official program page show any post-2021 phones? Can you source Nokia officially stating it's Android One? -Cardace (talk) 09:41, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chronological order. Ascending or descending

[edit]

See my edit comment for this diff. "This is a major change. Please discuss first, and get some consensus. Other lists put the latest on top. See List of Intel microprocessors. Undid revision 966707707 by Cardace (talk)."

Cardace put the years in ascending order with the earliest year (2014) on top. The edit comment was "Reordered per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lists of works#Ordering"

The guideline is for lists of creative works, such as lists of texts, discographies and filmographies.

It is not for lists of electronic products. People want the latest info on Android One phones. So the latest phones need to be on top.

Especially since Google does not provide security updates after 3 years from a product release date. --Timeshifter (talk) 09:37, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vague definition of topic

[edit]

The lead paragraph starts 'Android One is a software overlay developed by Google', but the article then later implies Android One is an organisation with sentence starting 'On September 5, 2017, Android One and Xiaomi jointly announced'. I would suggest a better lead would be 'Android One is a programme within Google that developed a series of software overlays of the Android operating system for use on mobile phones.'

However the phrase 'software overlay' is not clear either so further suggestions welcome.John a s (talk) 16:55, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Android One is no more? The article is outdated.

[edit]

The most recent Android One phone listed on this page is from 2023. It seems this program is dead since 2021, but now its death seems more official. This article needs to be rewritten in past tense ("Google One was ...") and information added on when and why exactly it was cancelled. Nyh (talk) 08:24, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
