Electronics is a scientific and engineering discipline that studies and applies the principles of physics to design, create, and operate devices that manipulate electrons and other electrically charged particles. It is a subfield of physics and electrical engineering which uses active devices such as transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits to control and amplify the flow of electric current and to convert it from one form to another, such as from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) or from analog signals to digital signals. Electronics is often contrasted with electrical power engineering, which focuses on generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power rather than signal processing or device level control.

Electronic devices have significantly influenced the development of many aspects of modern society, such as telecommunications, entertainment, education, health care, industry, and security. The main driving force behind the advancement of electronics is the semiconductor industry, which continually produces ever-more sophisticated electronic devices and circuits in response to global demand. The semiconductor industry is one of the global economy's largest and most profitable industries, with annual revenues exceeding $481 billion in 2018. The electronics industry also encompasses other branches that rely on electronic devices and systems, such as e-commerce, which generated over $29 trillion in online sales in 2017. Carl Friedrich Gauss (Gauß) (30 April 1777 – 23 February 1855) was a German mathematician and scientist of profound genius who contributed significantly to many fields, including number theory, analysis, differential geometry, geodesy, magnetism, astronomy and optics. Sometimes known as "the prince of mathematicians" and "greatest mathematician since antiquity", Gauss had a remarkable influence in many fields of mathematics and science and is ranked as one of history's most influential mathematicians. Gauss was a child prodigy, and made his first ground-breaking mathematical discoveries while still a teenager. The cgs unit for magnetic induction was named gauss in his honor.

An electronic amplifier is a device for increasing the power of a signal. An idealized amplifier can be said to be "a piece of wire with gain", as the output is an exact replica of the input, but larger. It does this by taking power from a power supply and controlling the output to match the input signal shape but with a larger amplitude, in this sense an amplifier may be considered as modulating the output of the power supply.

Real world amplifiers are not ideal and this control is thus imperfect. One consequence is that the power supply itself may influence the output, and must itself be considered when designing the amplifier. The amplifier circuit has an "open loop" performance, that can be described by various parameters. The majority of modern amplifiers apply some negative feedback to form a control loop surrounding the gain stage itself.

Motorola RAZR is a thin clamshell mobile/cellular camera phone from Motorola. The phone was initially regarded as an exclusive fashion phone, with a high price of $500 with service agreement and $800 without. However, in 2005 the phone entered the mass-market as a mid-priced phone. Motorola released a CDMA version of the RAZR on November 21, 2005, called the RAZR V3c. Changes in the CDMA version include a slightly thicker form factor, more internal memory (30 MB), and a higher resolution 1.3 megapixel camera.
