Hello, DimensionalFusion

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Yoblyblob, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, 2029 West Northamptonshire Council election, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Yoblyblob}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Not Thorpe but Home

[edit]

File:Jeremy Thorpe portrait from Richard Nixon meeting.png is Alec Douglas-Home, not Jeremy Thorpe. DuncanHill (talk) 20:36, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DuncanHill: Are you sure? The US government clearly says that the person in the photo is "Liberal Party leader Jeremy Thorpe". I suppose it could be mislabelled but the caption even clarifies that the person in the photo is the Liberal Party Leader DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 21:20, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely sure. Do you have a link to the original at the Richard Nixon Library? DuncanHill (talk) 21:57, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DuncanHill: The image that I uploaded is WHPO-0376-09-14. The RNL the caption is at [1]
Images WHPO-0376 09-14 are listed as "President Nixon meeting informally with Liberal Party leader Jeremy Thorpe. 2/25/1969, London, England, Claridge's Hotel."
With the people listed as: President Nixon, Jeremy Thorpe DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 22:10, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But where did you get the image from? Anyway, it is obviously Home, so you need to rename the files on Commons. DuncanHill (talk) 22:16, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DuncanHill: I had to email them to get the image as they don't keep them on the website. I've put in for a rename request for the files on Commons. I suppose there's still no Jeremy Thorpe picture for the infobox, though (only 22 years in the making). I can't tell the difference between the picture I uploaded, Douglas-Home and Thorpe, so I'm going to AGF that it is indeed Douglas-Home and not Thorpe as the White House Photo Office says DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 22:32, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They don't look anything like each other, not least Thorpe had a lot more hair! DuncanHill (talk) 22:36, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well as I say, I literally can’t tell them apart so I’ll take your word for it DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 22:38, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Stale draft

[edit]

Information iconHello, DimensionalFusion, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:DimensionalFusion/Hong Kong (Overseas Public Servants) Act 1996. Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable. But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you wish to improve the draft yourself, please do. Otherwise, you may consider donating it to WikiProject Abandoned Drafts (a participant can help). Thank you. Legend of 14 (talk) 16:18, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
