Tree of Lies is a depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM) band from Tunis, Tunisia, formed on November 8, 2023, by Veilmar. The band is known for its melancholic and atmospheric sound, with themes of despair and suffering.

History

Tree of Lies was formed on November 8, 2023, by Veilmar, who serves as the band’s lead guitarist, songwriter, bassist, and backing vocalist. Nihilmancer is the lead vocalist and also a songwriter, while Aziz plays drums, serves as the second guitarist, and is the band's producer.

The band released its debut album, Fragments of a Shattered Heart, in 2023. The album featured eight songs that showcased the band's signature DSBM style. They later followed up with an EP, In the Bleeding Skies of Cold Thrones, and a standalone single, In the Diary of the Forsaken.

Musical Style

The band’s music is deeply rooted in depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM), characterized by slow, atmospheric compositions, tortured screams, and melancholic melodies. Their lyrical themes revolve around sorrow, hopelessness, and existential despair.
