Early life and education

[edit]

Singh was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Honours from Delhi University, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism. After working as a television journalist in India and with the BBC in London, she moved to Ireland in 2016.

In Ireland, Singh transitioned to a career in human resources. She completed a CIPD Diploma in Human Resource Management at the National College of Ireland (2019–2020).

Political career

[edit]

Singh was elected to Dublin City Council in June 2024, placing fourth out of fourteen candidates in the five-seat Donaghmede Ward.[1]

A resident of North Dublin, Singh is active on local transport, housing, and integration issues. In July 2024, she brought forward a motion to deploy security personnel on DART and Dublin Bus services, which was passed by the council.[2]

She also serves on the board of Dublin City Council’s Culture Company, which supports community access to cultural initiatives across the city.

Community involvement

[edit]

Singh is an active member of Fine Gael’s women's and migrant engagement networks. Her political activism is rooted in her experience as a migrant and working mother of two. She regularly advocates for inclusive public policy, migrant integration, and women’s representation in local government.

In a 2024 *Irish Times* interview, she described Ireland as a merit-based society where hard work is rewarded: “If you work hard enough, you will get the job.”[3]

She called for updated law surrounding carers leave in 2024.

[4]

She has also spoken publicly about the challenges migrant candidates face in Irish politics, including during her 2024 campaign.[5]

She also pushed for a direct flight route between Dublin and New Delhi, referencing discussions with India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar in early 2025
