SmartMoving is a business management software platform based in Dallas, Texas, that provides cloud-based tools for moving and storage companies. The company offers an integrated system to manage sales, operations, dispatch, payments, storage, and reporting.

History

SmartMoving was founded in 2019 by entrepreneur Tobe Thompson.[1][2]

In August 2022, the company raised $41.5 million in growth equity from Mainsail Partners to support product development and expansion of its engineering and customer success teams.[3][4]

SmartMoving offers a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed for moving companies with three or more trucks. The platform includes tools for lead capture and customer relationship management (CRM), quoting and estimating, dispatch and live crew scheduling, mobile check-in for field teams, payment processing, storage unit tracking and billing, QuickBooks integration, and dashboards for reporting and profitability analysis.[5]

In 2024, SmartMoving was ranked No. 1,074 on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. The company reported a 476% three-year revenue growth.[6] It was one of 205 Dallas–Fort Worth area companies to be featured on the list that year.[7]

Partnerships

In 2023, SmartMoving partnered with National Van Lines to support its NationalExpress Move affiliate program. The collaboration enables local and regional movers to book long-distance moves under the National Van Lines brand while using SmartMoving's software platform to manage operational workflows.[8]
