Simple Modern
[edit]Simple Modern is a privately held American company that designs and manufactures insulated drinkware and related accessories. It was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Moore, Oklahoma. The company distributes its products through e-commerce and national retailers.
History
[edit]Simple Modern was founded in 2015 by Mike Beckham, Bryan Porter, and Micah Ames. The company launched with an Amazon-first strategy before expanding into national retailers including Target, Walmart, and Costco.[1]
According to e-commerce analytics firm TripleWhale, Simple Modern surpassed $100 million in annual revenue by 2021.[2] In a 2023 interview on The Fort Podcast, Beckham discussed the company’s founding, growth strategy, and transition to employee ownership.[3]
In its first year, Simple Modern secured a licensing agreement with the University of Oklahoma and generated approximately $8 million in sales through a Sam’s Club trial.[4]
In 2022, the company opened a 175,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Oklahoma City.[5] By 2024, it had adopted an Employee Stock Ownership Plan and reported $200 million in annual revenue.[6]
Leadership and Strategy

Licensing
[edit]The company holds licensing agreements with more than 100 U.S. colleges and universities, as well as Universal Products & Experiences for franchises such as Despicable Me and Jurassic World.[10]
In 2024, Good Morning America featured Simple Modern’s collegiate tumblers in a segment on football-related merchandise.[11]

- The New York Times Wirecutter named the 24-ounce Classic Tumbler the “best tumbler overall.”[12]
- Serious Eats highlighted the 40-ounce Trek Tumbler for its insulation and leak resistance.[13]
- Bon Appétit and The New York Post included the Trek Tumbler in roundups of Stanley-style drinkware alternatives.[14][15]
